2 (61-3) From the end of the earth will I call unto Thee, when my heart fainteth; lead me to a rock that is too high for me.
2 From the end of the earth, I will call to you when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 (61-4) For Thou hast been a refuge for me, a tower of strength in the face of the enemy.
3 For you have been a refuge for me, a strong tower from the enemy.
4 (61-5) I will dwell in Thy Tent for ever; I will take refuge in the covert of Thy wings. Selah
4 I will dwell in your tent forever. I will take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah.
5 (61-6) For Thou, O God, hast heard my vows; Thou hast granted the heritage of those that fear Thy name.
5 For you, God, have heard my vows. You have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 (61-7) Mayest Thou add days unto the king's days! May his years be as many generations!
6 You will prolong the king’s life. His years will be for generations.
7 (61-8) May he be enthroned before God for ever! Appoint mercy and truth, that they may preserve him.
7 He shall be enthroned in God’s presence forever. Appoint your loving kindness and truth, that they may preserve him.
8 (61-9) So will I sing praise unto Thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
8 So I will sing praise to your name forever, that I may fulfill my vows daily.

  1. Comentario Augustine of Hippo, Expositions on the Psalms (Psalm LX)

David the king was one man, but not one man he figured; sometimes to wit he figured the Church of many men consisting, extended even unto the ends of the earth: but sometimes One Man he figured, Him he figured that is Mediator of God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.
