Notas sobre este texto (1)

1 Why have nations assembled tumultuously? And peoples meditate vanity? 2 Kings of the earth station themselves, and princes have been united together, against YHWH, and against His Messiah: 3 “Let us draw off Their cords, || And cast Their thick bands from us.” 4 He who is sitting in the heavens laughs, || The Lord mocks at them. 5 Then He speaks to them in His anger, and in His wrath He troubles them: 6 “And I have anointed My King, || On Zion—My holy hill.” 7 I declare concerning a statute: YHWH said to me, “You [are] My Son, today I have brought You forth. 8 Ask of Me and I give nations [as] Your inheritance, || And the ends of the earth [for] Your possession. 9 You rule them with a scepter of iron, || You crush them as a vessel of a potter.” 10 And now, O kings, act wisely, || Be instructed, O judges of earth, 11 Serve YHWH with fear, || And rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Chosen One [[or Son]], lest He is angry, || And you perish [from] the way, || When His anger burns but a little, || O the blessedness of all trusting in Him!

(ver. 1). "The kings of the earth have stood up, and the rulers taken counsel together, against the Lord, and against His Christ" (ver. 2). It is said, "why?" as if it were said, in vain.

"Wherefore, girding up your loins," "serve the Lord in fear" and truth, as those who have forsaken the vain, empty talk and error of the multitude, and "believed in Him who raised up our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead, and gave Him glory," and a throne at His right hand.

… Christ are human beings, who from various and diverse nations come together into one cohort of faith, as the Father promised Him, saying, "Ask of Me, and I will give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession." And as from the multitude of his sons the prophets of the Lord [afterwards] arose, …

  4. Cita 2:11 Augustine of Hippo, Confessions (Book VII, Chapters XX–XXI)

And the face of that pure speech appeared to me one and the same; and I learned to "rejoice with trembling." So I commenced, and found that whatsoever truth I had there read was declared here with the recommendation of Thy grace; that he who sees may not so glory as if he had not received not only that which …
