1 О знамениях: вот, настанут дни, в которые многие из живущих на земле, обладающие ведением, будут восхищены, и путь истины сокроется, и вселенная оскудеет верою,
1 “Nevertheless, concerning the signs, behold, the days will come when those who dwell on earth will be taken with great amazement, and the way of truth will be hidden, and the land will be barren of faith.
2 и умножится неправда, которую теперь ты видишь и о которой издавна слышал.
2 Iniquity will be increased above what now you see, and beyond what you have heard long ago.
3 И будет, что страна, которую ты теперь видишь господствующею, подвергнется опустошению.
3 The land that you now see ruling will be a trackless waste, and men will see it desolate.
4 А если Всевышний даст тебе дожить, то увидишь, что после третьей трубы внезапно воссияет среди ночи солнце и луна трижды в день;
4 But if the Most High grants you to live, you will see troubles after the third period. The sun will suddenly shine in the night, and the moon in the day.
5 и с дерева будет капать кровь, камень даст голос свой, и народы поколеблются.
5 Blood will drop out of wood, and the stone will utter its voice. The peoples will be troubled, and the stars will fall.
6 Тогда будет царствовать тот, которого живущие на земле не ожидают, и птицы перелетят на другие места.
6 He will rule whom those who dwell on the earth don’t expect, and the birds will fly away together.
7 Море Содомское извергнет рыб, будет издавать ночью голос, неведомый для многих; однако же все услышат голос его.
7 The Sodomite sea will cast out fish, and make a noise in the night, which many have not known; but all will hear its voice.
8 Будет смятение во многих местах, часто будет посылаем с неба огонь; дикие звери переменят места свои, и нечистые женщины будут рождать чудовищ.
8 There will also be chaos in many places. Fires will break out often, and the wild animals will change their places, and women will bring forth monsters.
9 Сладкие воды сделаются солеными, и все друзья ополчатся друг против друга; тогда сокроется ум, и разум удалится в свое хранилище.
9 Salt waters will be found in the sweet, and all friends will destroy one another. Then reason will hide itself, and understanding withdraw itself into its chamber.
10 Многие будут искать его, но не найдут, и умножится на земле неправда и невоздержание.
10 It will be sought by many, and won’t be found. Unrighteousness and lack of restraint will be multiplied on earth.
11 Одна область будет спрашивать другую соседнюю: "не проходила ли по тебе правда, делающая праведным?" И та скажет: "нет".
11 One country will ask another, ‘Has righteousness, or a man that does righteousness, gone through you?’ And it will say, ‘No.’
12 Люди в то время будут надеяться, и не достигнут желаемого, будут трудиться, и не управятся пути их.
12 It will come to pass at that time that men will hope, but won’t obtain. They will labor, but their ways won’t prosper.
13 Об этих знамениях мне дозволено сказать тебе, и если снова помолишься и поплачешь, как теперь, и попостишься семь дней, то услышишь еще больше того.
13 I am permitted to show you such signs. If you will pray again, and weep as now, and fast seven days, you will hear yet greater things than these.”
14 И я пришел в себя, и тело мое сильно дрожало, и душа моя изнемогла, как будто исчезала.
14 Then I woke up, and an extreme trembling went through my body, and my mind was so troubled that it fainted.
15 Но пришедший ко мне Ангел поддержал меня и укрепил меня, и поставил на ноги.
15 So the angel who had come to talk with me held me, comforted me, and set me on my feet.
16 И было, во вторую ночь пришел ко мне Салафиил, вождь народа, и спросил меня: где ты был, и отчего лице твое так печально?
16 In the second night, it came to pass that Phaltiel the captain of the people came to me, saying, “Where have you been? Why is your face sad?
17 Разве не знаешь, что тебе вверен Израиль в стране преселения его?
17 Or don’t you know that Israel is committed to you in the land of their captivity?
18 Итак встань и вкуси хлеба, и не оставляй нас, как пастырь своего стада, в руках лукавых волков.
18 Get up then, and eat some bread, and don’t forsake us, like a shepherd who leaves the flock in the power of cruel wolves.”
19 Тогда сказал я ему: отойди от меня, и не приближайся ко мне. И он, услышав это, удалился от меня.
19 Then said I to him, “Go away from me and don’t come near me for seven days, and then you shall come to me.” He heard what I said and left me.
20 А я семь дней постился, стеная и плача, как повелел мне Ангел Уриил.
20 So I fasted seven days, mourning and weeping, like Uriel the angel had commanded me.
21 И после семи дней помышления сердца моего опять были для меня крайне тягостны;
21 After seven days, the thoughts of my heart were very grievous to me again,
22 но душа моя прияла дух разумения, и я снова начал говорить пред Всевышним
22 and my soul recovered the spirit of understanding, and I began to speak words before the Most High again.
23 и сказал: о, Владыко Господи! Ты из всех лесов на земле и из всех дерев на ней избрал только одну виноградную лозу;
23 I said, “O sovereign Lord of all the woods of the earth, and of all the trees thereof, you have chosen one vine for yourself.
24 Ты из всего круга земного избрал Себе одну пещеру, и из всех цветов во вселенной Ты избрал Себе одну лилию;
24 Of all the lands of the world you have chosen one country for yourself. Of all the flowers of the world, you have chosen one lily for yourself.
25 Ты из всех пучин морских наполнил для Себя один источник, а из всех построенных городов освятил для Себя один Сион.
25 Of all the depths of the sea, you have filled one river for yourself. Of all built cities, you have consecrated Zion for yourself.
26 Из всех сотворенных птиц Ты наименовал Себе одну голубицу, и из всех сотворенных скотов Ты избрал Себе одну овцу;
26 Of all the birds that are created you have named for yourself one dove. Of all the livestock that have been made, you have provided for yourself one sheep.
27 из всех многочисленных народов Ты приобрел Себе один народ, и возлюбил его, дал ему закон совершенный.
27 Among all the multitudes of peoples you have gotten yourself one people. To this people, whom you loved, you gave a law that is approved by all.
28 Но ныне, Господи, отчего же Ты предал одного многим, и на одном корне Ты насадил другие отрасли и рассеял Твой единственный народ между многими народами?
28 Now, O Lord, why have you given this one people over to many, and have dishonored the one root above others, and have scattered your only one among many?
29 И попрали его противники обетованиям Твоим и заветам Твоим не веровавшие.
29 Those who opposed your promises have trampled down those who believed your covenants.
30 И если уже Ты сильно возненавидел народ Твой, то пусть бы он Твоими руками наказывался.
30 If you really do hate your people so much, they should be punished with your own hands.”
31 Когда я произносил слова сии, послан был ко мне Ангел, который приходил ко мне прежде ночью,
31 Now when I had spoken these words, the angel that came to me the night before was sent to me,
32 и сказал мне: послушай меня, и я научу тебя; внимай мне, и я скажу тебе еще более.
32 and said to me, “Hear me, and I will instruct you. Listen to me, and I will tell you more.”
33 Говори, сказал я, господин мой. И он сказал мне: ты слишком далеко зашел пытливостью ума твоего об Израиле; неужели ты больше любишь его, нежели Тот, Который сотворил его?
33 I said, “Speak on, my Lord.” Then said he to me, “You are very troubled in mind for Israel’s sake. Do you love that people more than he who made them?”
34 Нет, господин мой, отвечал я, но говорил от великой скорби. Внутренность моя мучает меня всякий час, когда я стараюсь постигнуть путь Всевышнего и исследовать хотя часть суда Его.
34 I said, “No, Lord; but I have spoken out of grief; for my heart is in agony every hour while I labor to comprehend the way of the Most High, and to seek out part of his judgment.”
35 Он отвечал: не можешь. Почему же, господин мой? спросил я. Лучше бы я не родился, и утроба матерняя сделалась для меня гробом, нежели видеть угнетение Иакова и изнурение рода Израильского.
35 He said to me, “You can’t.” And I said, “Why, Lord? Why was I born? Why wasn’t my mother’s womb my grave, that I might not have seen the travail of Jacob, and the wearisome toil of the people of Israel?”
36 И он сказал мне: исчисли мне, что еще не пришло, и собери мне рассеянные капли, и оживи иссохшие цветы;
36 He said to me, “Count for me those who haven’t yet come. Gather together for me the drops that are scattered abroad, and make the withered flowers green again for me.
37 открой заключенные хранилища и выведи мне заключенные в них ветры, и покажи мне образ голоса: и тогда я покажу тебе то, что ты усиливаешься видеть.
37 Open for me the chambers that are closed, and bring out the winds for me that are shut up in them. Or show me the image of a voice. Then I will declare to you the travail that you asked to see.”
38 Владыко Господи! отвечал я, кто может знать это, разве только тот, кто не живет с человеками?
38 And I said, “O sovereign Lord, who may know these things except he who doesn’t have his dwelling with men?
39 А я безумен, и как могу говорить о том, о чем Ты спросил меня?
39 As for me, I lack wisdom. How can I then speak of these things you asked me about?”
40 Тогда Он сказал мне: как ты не можешь сделать ничего из сказанного, так не можешь познать судеб Моих, ни предела любви, которую обещал Я народу.
40 Then said he to me, “Just as you can do none of these things that I have spoken of, even so you can’t find out my judgment, or the end of the love that I have promised to my people.”
41 Но вот, Господи, Ты близок к тем, которые к концу близятся, и что будут делать те, которые прежде меня были, или мы, или которые после нас будут?
41 I said, “But, behold, O Lord, you have made the promise to those who are alive at the end. What should they do who have been before us, or we ourselves, or those who will come after us?”
42 Он сказал мне: венцу уподоблю я суд Мой; как нет запоздания последних, так и ускорения первых.
42 He said to me, “I will compare my judgment to a ring. Just as there is no slowness of those who are last, even so there is no swiftness of those who be first.”
43 Отвечал я и сказал: не мог ли бы Ты соединить воедино как тех, которые сотворены были прежде, так и тех, которые существуют и которые будут, дабы скорее объявить им суд Твой?
43 So I answered, “Couldn’t you make them all at once that have been made, and that are now, and that are yet to come, that you might show your judgment sooner?”
44 Он отвечал мне: не может ускорить творение Творца своего, ни век сей не может вместить в себе всех вместе, которые должны быть сотворены.
44 Then he answered me, “The creature may not move faster than the creator, nor can the world hold them at once who will be created in it.”
45 И сказал я: как же Ты сказал рабу Твоему, что Ты дал жизнь созданному творению вкупе, и однако творение выдержало это; посему могли бы понести и ныне существующие вкупе.
45 And I said, “How have you said to your servant, that you will surely make alive at once the creature that you have created? If therefore they will be alive at once, and the creation will sustain them, even so it might now also support them to be present at once.”
46 Он сказал мне: спроси женщину, и скажи ей: "если ты рождаешь десять, то почему рождаешь по временам?", и проси ее, чтобы она родила десять вдруг.
46 And he said to me, “Ask the womb of a woman, and say to her, ‘If you bear ten children, why do you it at different times? Ask her therefore to give birth to ten children at once.”
47 Я же сказал Ему: невозможно это, но должно быть по времени.
47 I said, “She can’t, but must do it each in their own time.”
48 Тогда Он сказал мне: и Я дал недрам земли способность посеянное на ней возращать по временам.
48 Then said he to me, “Even so, I have given the womb of the earth to those who are sown in it in their own times.
49 Как младенец не может производить того, что свойственно старцам, так Я устроил созданный Мною век.
49 For just as a young child may not give birth, neither she who has grown old any more, even so have I organized the world which I created.”
50 Тогда я вопросил Его и сказал: когда Ты открыл мне путь, то позволь мне сказать Тебе: мать наша, о которой Ты говорил Мне, молода ли еще, или приближается к старости?
50 I asked, “Seeing that you have now shown me the way, I will speak before you. Is our mother, of whom you have told me, still young? Or does she now draw near to old age?”
51 Спроси об этом рождающую, и она скажет тебе.
51 He answered me, “Ask a woman who bears children, and she will tell you.
52 Скажи ей: "почему рождаемые тобою ныне не подобны тем, которые рождены были прежде, но меньше их ростом?"
52 Say to her, ‘Why aren’t they whom you have now brought forth like those who were before, but smaller in stature?’
53 И она скажет тебе: "одни рождены мною в крепости молодой силы, а другие рождены под старость, когда ложесна начали терять свою силу".
53 She also will answer you, ‘Those who are born in the strength of youth are different from those who are born in the time of old age, when the womb fails.’
54 Рассуди же ты: вы теперь меньше станом, нежели те, которые были прежде вас;
54 Consider therefore you also, how you are shorter than those who were before you.
55 и те, которые после вас родятся, будут еще меньше вас, так как творения, уже состаривающиеся, и крепость юноши уже миновала.
55 So are those who come after you smaller than you, as born of the creature which now begins to be old, and is past the strength of youth.”
56 И сказал я: если я приобрел благоволение пред очами Твоими, покажи рабу Твоему, через кого Ты посещаешь творение Твое?
56 Then I said, “Lord, I implore you, if I have found favor in your sight, show your servant by whom you visit your creation.”
