BSB Berean Standard Bible WEB World English Bible (Classic, with Deuterocanon) 1 Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. 1 EMPERO Jericó estaba cerrada, bien cerrada, á causa de los hijos de Israel: nadie entraba, ni salía.
1 Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the children of Israel. No one went out, and no one came in.
2 And the LORD said to Joshua, “Behold, I have delivered Jericho into your hand, along with its king and its mighty men of valor. 2 Mas Jehová dijo á Josué: Mira, yo he entregado en tu mano á Jericó y á su rey, con sus varones de guerra.
2 Yahweh said to Joshua, “Behold, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and the mighty men of valor.
3 March around the city with all the men of war, circling the city one time. Do this for six days.
3 All of your men of war shall march around the city, going around the city once. You shall do this six days.
4 Have seven priests carry seven rams’ horns in front of the ark. Then on the seventh day, march around the city seven times, while the priests blow the horns.
4 Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day, you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.
5 And when there is a long blast of the ram’s horn and you hear its sound, have all the people give a mighty shout. Then the wall of the city will collapse and all your people will charge straight into the city.” 5 Y cuando tocaren prolongadamente el cuerno de carnero, así que oyereis el sonido de la bocina, todo el pueblo gritará á gran voz, y el muro de la ciudad caerá debajo de sí: entonces el pueblo subirá cada uno en derecho de sí.
5 It shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the city wall will fall down flat, and the people shall go up, every man straight in front of him.”
6 So Joshua son of Nun summoned the priests and said, “Take up the ark of the covenant and have seven priests carry seven rams’ horns in front of the ark of the LORD.” 6 Y llamando Josué hijo de Nun á los sacerdotes, les dijo: Llevad el arca del pacto, y siete sacerdotes lleven bocinas de cuernos de carneros delante del arca de Jehová.
6 Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before Yahweh’s ark.”
7 And he told the people, “Advance and march around the city, with the armed troops going ahead of the ark of the LORD.” 7 Y dijo al pueblo: Pasad, y rodead la ciudad; y los que están armados pasarán delante del arca de Jehová.
7 They said to the people, “Advance! March around the city, and let the armed men pass on before Yahweh’s ark.”
8 After Joshua had spoken to the people, seven priests carrying seven rams’ horns before the LORD advanced and blew the horns, and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
8 It was so, that when Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before Yahweh advanced and blew the trumpets, and the ark of Yahweh’s covenant followed them.
9 While the horns continued to sound, the armed troops marched ahead of the priests who blew the horns, and the rear guard followed the ark.
9 The armed men went before the priests who blew the trumpets, and the ark went after them. The trumpets sounded as they went.
10 But Joshua had commanded the people: “Do not give a battle cry or let your voice be heard; do not let one word come out of your mouth until the day I tell you to shout. Then you are to shout!” 10 Y Josué mandó al pueblo, diciendo: Vosotros no daréis grita, ni se oirá vuestra voz, ni saldrá palabra de vuestra boca, hasta el día que yo os diga: Gritad: entonces daréis grita.
10 Joshua commanded the people, saying, “You shall not shout nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth until the day I tell you to shout. Then you shall shout.”
11 So he had the ark of the LORD carried around the city, circling it once. And the people returned to the camp and spent the night there.
11 So he caused Yahweh’s ark to go around the city, circling it once. Then they came into the camp, and stayed in the camp.
12 Joshua got up early the next morning, and the priests took the ark of the LORD. 12 Y Josué se levantó de mañana, y los sacerdotes tomaron el arca de Jehová.
12 Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up Yahweh’s ark.
13 And the seven priests carrying seven rams’ horns kept marching ahead of the ark of the LORD and blowing the horns. The armed troops went in front of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the LORD, while the horns kept sounding.
13 The seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns in front of Yahweh’s ark went on continually, and blew the trumpets. The armed men went in front of them. The rear guard came after Yahweh’s ark. The trumpets sounded as they went.
14 So on the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. They did this for six days.
14 The second day they marched around the city once, and returned into the camp. They did this six days.
15 Then on the seventh day, they got up at dawn and marched around the city seven times in the same manner. That was the only day they circled the city seven times.
15 On the seventh day, they rose early at the dawning of the day, and marched around the city in the same way seven times. On this day only they marched around the city seven times.
16 After the seventh time around, the priests blew the horns, and Joshua commanded the people, “Shout! For the LORD has given you the city! 16 Y como los sacerdotes hubieron tocado las bocinas la séptima vez, Josué dijo al pueblo: Dad grita, porque Jehová os ha entregado la ciudad.
16 At the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, “Shout, for Yahweh has given you the city!
17 Now the city and everything in it must be devoted to the LORD for destruction. Only Rahab the prostitute and all those with her in her house will live, because she hid the spies we sent.
17 The city shall be devoted, even it and all that is in it, to Yahweh. Only Rahab the prostitute shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
18 But keep away from the things devoted to destruction, lest you yourself be set apart for destruction. If you take any of these, you will set apart the camp of Israel for destruction and bring disaster upon it. 18 Empero guardaos vosotros del anatema, que ni toquéis, ni toméis alguna cosa del anatema, porque no hagáis anatema el campo de Israel, y lo turbéis.
18 But as for you, only keep yourselves from what is devoted to destruction, lest when you have devoted it, you take of the devoted thing; so you would make the camp of Israel accursed and trouble it.
19 For all the silver and gold and all the articles of bronze and iron are holy to the LORD; they must go into His treasury.” 19 Mas toda la plata, y el oro, y vasos de metal y de hierro, sea consagrado á Jehová, [y] venga al tesoro de Jehová.
19 But all the silver, gold, and vessels of bronze and iron are holy to Yahweh. They shall come into Yahweh’s treasury.”
20 So when the rams’ horns sounded, the people shouted. When they heard the blast of the horn, the people gave a great shout, and the wall collapsed.
20 So the people shouted and the priests blew the trumpets. When the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight in front of him, and they took the city.
21 At the edge of the sword they devoted to destruction everything in the city—man and woman, young and old, oxen, sheep, and donkeys.
21 They utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, both young and old, and ox, sheep, and donkey, with the edge of the sword.
22 Meanwhile, Joshua told the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the house of the prostitute and bring out the woman and all who are with her, just as you promised her.” 22 Mas Josué dijo á los dos hombres que habían reconocido la tierra: Entrad en casa de la mujer ramera, y haced salir de allá á la mujer, y á todo lo que fuere suyo, como lo jurasteis.
22 Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute’s house, and bring the woman and all that she has out from there, as you swore to her.”
23 So the young spies went in and brought out Rahab, her father and mother and brothers, and all who belonged to her. They brought out her whole family and settled them outside the camp of Israel.
23 The young men who were spies went in, and brought out Rahab with her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. They also brought out all of her relatives, and they set them outside of the camp of Israel.
24 Then the Israelites burned up the city and everything in it. However, they put the silver and gold and articles of bronze and iron into the treasury of the LORD’s house.
24 They burned the city with fire, and all that was in it. Only they put the silver, the gold, and the vessels of bronze and of iron into the treasury of Yahweh’s house.
25 And Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her father’s household and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent to spy out Jericho. So she has lived among the Israelites to this day.
25 But Rahab the prostitute, her father’s household, and all that she had, Joshua saved alive. She lives in the middle of Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
26 At that time Joshua invoked this solemn oath: “Cursed before the LORD is the man who rises up and rebuilds this city, Jericho; at the cost of his firstborn he will lay its foundations; at the cost of his youngest he will set up its gates.” 26 Y en aquel tiempo Josué les juramentó diciendo: Maldito delante de Jehová el hombre que se levantare y reedificare esta ciudad de Jericó.
26 Joshua commanded them with an oath at that time, saying, “Cursed is the man before Yahweh who rises up and builds this city Jericho. With the loss of his firstborn he will lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he will set up its gates.”
27 So the LORD was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout the land.
27 So Yahweh was with Joshua; and his fame was in all the land.
