WEB World English Bible (Classic, with Deuterocanon) 1 If there be a controversy between men, and they resort to judgment, and they judge [their case]; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.
1 If there is a controversy between men, and they come to judgment and the judges judge them, then they shall justify the righteous and condemn the wicked.
2 And it shall be if the wicked man have deserved to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and be beaten before his face, according to the measure of his wickedness with a certain number [of stripes]. 2 Será que, si el delincuente mereciere ser azotado, entonces el juez lo hará echar en tierra, y harále azotar delante de sí, según su delito, por cuenta.
2 It shall be, if the wicked man is worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down and to be beaten before his face, according to his wickedness, by number.
3 With forty [stripes] shall they beat him; they shall not exceed, lest, if they continue to beat him with many stripes above these, thy brother become despicable in thine eyes.
3 He may sentence him to no more than forty stripes. He shall not give more, lest if he should give more and beat him more than that many stripes, then your brother will be degraded in your sight.
4 Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out [the corn]. 4 No pondrás bozal al buey cuando trillare.
4 You shall not muzzle the ox when he treads out the grain.
5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no son, the wife of the dead shall not marry a stranger abroad: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him as wife, and perform the duty of a husband's brother unto her.
5 If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside to a stranger. Her husband’s brother shall go in to her, and take her as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her.
6 And it shall be, that the firstborn that she beareth shall stand in the name of his brother who is dead, that his name be not blotted out from Israel.
6 It shall be that the firstborn whom she bears shall succeed in the name of his brother who is dead, that his name not be blotted out of Israel.
7 But if the man like not to take his brother's wife, his brother's wife shall go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel: he will not perform for me the duty of a husband's brother.
7 If the man doesn’t want to take his brother’s wife, then his brother’s wife shall go up to the gate to the elders, and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to raise up to his brother a name in Israel. He will not perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me.”
8 Then the elders of his city shall call him and speak unto him; and if he stand to it and say, I like not to take her; 8 Entonces los ancianos de aquella ciudad lo harán venir, y hablarán con él: y si él se levantare, y dijere, No quiero tomarla,
8 Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak to him. If he stands and says, “I don’t want to take her,”
9 then shall his brother's wife come near to him before the eyes of the elders, and draw his sandal from his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto the man that will not build up his brother's house.
9 then his brother’s wife shall come to him in the presence of the elders, and loose his sandal from off his foot, and spit in his face. She shall answer and say, “So shall it be done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house.”
10 And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe drawn off.
10 His name shall be called in Israel, “The house of him who had his sandal removed.”
11 When men fight together one with another, and the wife of the one come near to rescue her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and stretch out her hand, and seize him by his secret parts, 11 Cuando algunos riñeren juntos el uno con el otro, y llegare la mujer del uno para librar á su marido de mano del que le hiriere, y metiere su mano y le trabare de sus vergüenzas;
11 When men strive against each other, and the wife of one draws near to deliver her husband out of the hand of him who strikes him, and puts out her hand, and grabs him by his private parts,
12 thou shalt cut off her hand; thine eye shall not spare. 12 La cortarás entonces la mano, no [la] perdonará tu ojo.
12 then you shall cut off her hand. Your eye shall have no pity.
13 Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small. 13 No tendrás en tu bolsa pesa grande y pesa chica.
13 You shall not have in your bag diverse weights, one heavy and one light.
14 Thou shalt not have in thy house divers ephahs, a great and a small. 14 No tendrás en tu casa epha grande y epha pequeño.
14 You shall not have in your house diverse measures, one large and one small.
15 A perfect and just weight shalt thou have; a perfect and just ephah shalt thou have; that thy days may be prolonged in the land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee.
15 You shall have a perfect and just weight. You shall have a perfect and just measure, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.
16 For every one that doeth such things, every one that doeth unrighteousness, is an abomination to Jehovah thy God. 16 Porque abominación es á Jehová tu Dios cualquiera que hace esto, cualquiera que hace agravio.
16 For all who do such things, all who do unrighteously, are an abomination to Yahweh your God.
17 Remember what Amalek did unto thee on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; 17 Acuérdate de lo que te hizo Amalec en el camino, cuando salisteis de Egipto:
17 Remember what Amalek did to you by the way as you came out of Egypt,
18 how he met thee on the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, all the feeble that lagged behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary, and he feared not God. 18 Que te salió al camino, y te desbarató la retaguardia de todos los flacos que [iban] detrás de ti, cuando tú estabas cansado y trabajado; y no temió á Dios.
18 how he met you by the way, and struck the rearmost of you, all who were feeble behind you, when you were faint and weary; and he didn’t fear God.
19 And it shall be, when Jehovah thy God shall have given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens; thou shalt not forget it. 19 Será pues, cuando Jehová tu Dios te hubiere dado reposo de tus enemigos alrededor, en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da por heredad para que la poseas, que raerás la memoria de Amalec de debajo del cielo: no te olvides.
19 Therefore it shall be, when Yahweh your God has given you rest from all your enemies all around, in the land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it, that you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky. You shall not forget.
