WEB World English Bible (Classic, with Deuterocanon) 1 As Jesus was leaving the Temple his disciples came to him, pointing proudly to the Temple buildings.
1 Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.
2 But Jesus replied, “You see all these buildings? I tell you the truth: there won't be one stone left upon another. Every last one will come crashing down!” 2 Y respondiendo él, les dijo: ¿Veis todo esto? de cierto os digo, que no será dejada aquí piedra sobre piedra, que no sea destruída.
2 But he answered them, “You see all of these things, don’t you? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.”
3 As Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him in private, and asked, “Please tell us when this will happen. What will be the sign of your coming and the end of the world?” 3 Y sentándose él en el monte de las Olivas, se llegaron á él los discípulos aparte, diciendo: Dinos, ¿cuándo serán estas cosas, y qué señal [habrá] de tu venida, y del fin del mundo?
3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?”
4 “Make sure no one misleads you,” Jesus replied.
4 Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.
5 “Many will come claiming to be me, saying, ‘I'm the Messiah,’ and they will deceive many people. 5 Porque vendrán muchos en mi nombre, diciendo: Yo soy el Cristo; y á muchos engañarán.
5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray.
6 You'll hear about wars, and rumors about wars, but don't be anxious. These things have to happen, but this isn't the end.
6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet.
7 Nations will attack other nations, and kingdoms will fight against other kingdoms. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places, 7 Porque se levantará nación contra nación, y reino contra reino; y habrá pestilencias, y hambres, y terremotos por los lugares.
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places.
8 but all these things are just the beginnings of birth pains. 8 Y todas estas cosas, principio de dolores.
8 But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.
9 Then they will arrest you, they will persecute you, and they will kill you. All people will hate you because of me. 9 Entonces os entregarán para ser afligidos, y os matarán; y seréis aborrecidos de todas las gentes por causa de mi nombre.
9 “Then they will deliver you up to oppression and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name’s sake.
10 At that time many believers will give up believing. They will betray one another and hate one another.
10 Then many will stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another.
11 Many false prophets will come and deceive many people. 11 Y muchos falsos profetas se levantarán y engañarán á muchos.
11 Many false prophets will arise and will lead many astray.
12 The increasing evil will lead the love of many to grow cold, 12 Y por haberse multiplicado la maldad, la caridad de muchos se resfriará.
12 Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold.
13 but those who hold out to the end will be saved.
13 But he who endures to the end will be saved.
14 The good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed around the whole world so everyone will be able to hear it, and then the end will come.
14 This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
15 So when you see the ‘idolatry that causes devastation’ standing in the holy place that the prophet Daniel spoke about (those who read this please consider carefully), 15 Por tanto, cuando viereis la abominación del asolamiento, que fué dicha por Daniel profeta, que estará en el lugar santo, (el que lee, entienda),
15 “When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
16 then the people living in Judea should run away to the mountains. 16 Entonces los que están en Judea, huyan á los montes;
16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
17 Anyone who is on the housetop must not go down and fetch what's in the house. 17 Y el que sobre el terrado, no descienda á tomar algo de su casa;
17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in his house.
18 Anyone who is out in the fields must not go back to get a coat.
18 Let him who is in the field not return back to get his clothes.
19 How awful it will be for those who are pregnant, and those who are nursing babies at that time!
19 But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days!
20 Pray that you don't have to run away in winter, or on the Sabbath day. 20 Orad, pues, que vuestra huída no sea en invierno ni en sábado;
20 Pray that your flight will not be in the winter nor on a Sabbath,
21 For at that time there will be terrible persecution—more terrible than anything that has happened from the beginning of the world up till now, and won't ever happen again.
21 for then there will be great suffering, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be.
22 Unless those days are cut short, nobody will be saved, but for the sake of the chosen those days will be cut short.
22 Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.
23 So if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here's the Messiah,’ or, ‘There he is,’ don't believe it. 23 Entonces, si alguno os dijere: He aquí está el Cristo, ó allí, no creáis.
23 “Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There!’ don’t believe it.
24 For false messiahs will appear, and false prophets too, and they will perform incredible signs and miracles in order to deceive the chosen, if that were possible.
24 For false christs and false prophets will arise, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.
25 Notice that I've told you this before it even happens. 25 He aquí os [lo] he dicho antes.
25 “Behold, I have told you beforehand.
26 So if they tell you, ‘Look, he's out in the desert,’ don't go looking there; or if they say, ‘Look, he's secretly here,’ don't believe it. 26 Así que, si os dijeren: He aquí en el desierto está; no salgáis: He aquí en las cámaras; no creáis.
26 “If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; or ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ don’t believe it.
27 For the coming of the Son of man will be like the lightning that flashes brightly from east to west.
27 For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
28 ‘Vultures gather where the carcass is.’ 28 Porque donde quiera que estuviere el cuerpo muerto, allí se juntarán las águilas.
28 For wherever the carcass is, that is where the vultures gather together.
29 But right after those days of persecution the sun will be darkened, the moon will not shine, the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken.
29 “But immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;
30 Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the peoples of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and in brilliant glory.
30 and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.
31 With a blast from a trumpet he will send his angels to gather his chosen ones from every place, from one end of heaven and earth to the other.
31 He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
32 Learn an illustration from the fig tree. When its shoots become tender and leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is coming.
32 “Now from the fig tree learn this parable: When its branch has now become tender and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near.
33 In the same way when you see all these things happening, you know that his coming is near, in fact it's right at the door!
33 Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that he is near, even at the doors.
34 I tell you the truth: this generation won't pass away until all these things have happened.
34 Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things are accomplished.
35 Heaven and earth may pass away, but my words won't pass away.
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
36 But no one knows the day or hour when this will take place, not the angels in heaven, nor the Son. Only the Father knows.
36 “But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 When the Son of man comes it will be like it was during the time of Noah.
37 As the days of Noah were, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
38 It will be as in the days before the flood, when they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, right up until the day that Noah went into the ark.
38 For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship,
39 They didn't realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That's how the coming of the Son of man will be. 39 Y no conocieron hasta que vino el diluvio y llevó á todos, así será también la venida del Hijo del hombre.
39 and they didn’t know until the flood came and took them all away, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
40 Two men will be working in the fields. One will be taken, the other left.
40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one will be left.
41 Two women will be grinding grain with a mill. One will be taken, the other left.
41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and one will be left.
42 So stay alert, because you don't know what day your Lord is coming.
42 Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes.
43 But consider this: if the house-owner knew what time a thief was coming, he would keep watch. He would not allow his house to be broken into and robbed.
43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.
44 You also need to be ready, because the Son of man is coming at a time when you're not expecting him.
44 Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come.
45 For who is the trustworthy and thoughtful servant? It's the one his master puts in charge of his household to provide them with food at the proper time.
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?
46 How good it will be for that servant to be found doing that when his master returns!
46 Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes.
47 I tell you the truth: the master will put that servant in charge over everything he has.
47 Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.
48 But if he was evil, the servant would say to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time,’ 48 Y si aquel siervo malo dijere en su corazón: Mi señor se tarda en venir:
48 But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’
49 and would start beating the other servants, feasting and drinking with the drunks. 49 Y comenzare á herir á sus consiervos, y aun á comer y á beber con los borrachos;
49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards,
50 Then that servant's master will return when the man doesn't expect him, at a time he doesn't know.
50 the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doesn’t expect it and in an hour when he doesn’t know it,
51 He'll cut him to pieces, and treat him in the same way as the hypocrites, sending him to a place where there's crying and gnashing of teeth.” 51 Y le cortará por medio, y pondrá su parte con los hipócritas: allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.
51 and will cut him in pieces and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.
