1 Siđi i sedi u prah, devojko, kćeri vavilonska; sedi na zemlju, nema prestola, kćeri haldejska; jer se nećeš više zvati nežna i ljupka.
1 DESCIENDE, y siéntate en el polvo, virgen hija de Babilonia, siéntate en la tierra sin trono, hija de los Caldeos: que nunca más te llamarán tierna y delicada.
1 “Come down and sit in the dust, virgin daughter of Babylon. Sit on the ground without a throne, daughter of the Chaldeans. For you will no longer be called tender and delicate.
2 Uzmi žrvnje, i melji brašno, otkrij kosu svoju, izuj se, zagali noge, idi preko reka.
2 Toma el molino, y muele harina: descubre tus guedejas, descalza los pies, descubre las piernas, pasa los ríos.
2 Take the millstones and grind flour. Remove your veil, lift up your skirt, uncover your legs, and wade through the rivers.
3 Otkriće se golotinja tvoja, i videće se sramota tvoja; osvetiću se, i niko mi neće smetati.
3 Descubierta será tu vergüenza, y tu deshonor será visto: tomaré venganza, y no encontraré hombre.
3 Your nakedness will be uncovered. Yes, your shame will be seen. I will take vengeance, and will spare no one.”
4 Ime je Izbavitelju našem Gospod nad vojskama, Svetac Izrailjev.
4 Nuestro Redentor, Jehová de los ejércitos es su nombre, el Santo de Israel.
4 Our Redeemer, Yahweh of Armies is his name, is the Holy One of Israel.
5 Sedi ćuteći, i uđi u tamu, kćeri haldejska; jer se nećeš više zvati gospođa carstvima.
5 Siéntate, calla, y entra en tinieblas, hija de los Caldeos: porque nunca más te llamarán señora de reinos.
5 “Sit in silence, and go into darkness, daughter of the Chaldeans. For you shall no longer be called the mistress of kingdoms.
6 Razgnevih se na narod svoj, oskvrnih nasledstvo svoje i predadoh ga tebi u ruke; a ti im ne pokaza milost; na starce si metala preteški jaram svoj;
6 Enojéme contra mi pueblo, profané mi heredad, y entreguélos en tu mano: no les hiciste misericordias; sobre el viejo agravaste mucho tu yugo.
6 I was angry with my people. I profaned my inheritance and gave them into your hand. You showed them no mercy. You laid a very heavy yoke on the aged.
7 I govorila si: Doveka ću biti gospođa; ali nikad nisi to uzimala na um, niti si pomišljala šta će biti na posletku.
7 Y dijiste: Para siempre seré señora: y no has pensado en esto, ni te acordaste de tu postrimería.
7 You said, ‘I will be a princess forever,’ so that you didn’t lay these things to your heart, nor did you remember the results.
8 Sada dakle čuj ovo, koja živiš u slastima i bez brige sediš i govoriš u srcu svom: Ja sam, i nema druge osim mene, neću biti udovica niti ću osiroteti.
8 Oye pues ahora esto, delicada, la que está sentada confiadamente, la que dice en su corazón: Yo soy, y fuera de mí no hay más; no quedaré viuda, ni conoceré orfandad.
8 “Now therefore hear this, you who are given to pleasures, who sit securely, who say in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me. I won’t sit as a widow, neither will I know the loss of children.’
9 To će ti oboje doći ujedanput, u isti dan, da osirotiš i obudoviš, doći će ti potpuno, radi mnoštva čini tvojih i radi velike sile čaranja tvog.
9 Estas dos cosas te vendrán de repente en un mismo día, orfandad y viudez: en toda su perfección vendrán sobre ti, por la multitud de tus adivinanzas, y por la copia de tus muchos agüeros.
9 But these two things will come to you in a moment in one day: the loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in their full measure, in the multitude of your sorceries, and the great abundance of your enchantments.
10 Jer si se pouzdala u zloću svoju govoreći: Niko me ne vidi. Mudrost tvoja i znanje tvoje prevariše te, te si govorila u srcu svom: Ja sam, i osim mene nema druge.
10 Porque te confiaste en tu maldad, diciendo: Nadie me ve. Tu sabiduría y tu misma ciencia te engañaron, y dijiste en tu corazón: Yo, y no más.
10 For you have trusted in your wickedness. You have said, ‘No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and your knowledge has perverted you. You have said in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me.’
11 Zato će doći na te zlo, a nećeš znati odakle izlazi, i popašće te nevolja, da je nećeš moći odbiti, i doći će na te ujedanput pogibao, za koju nećeš znati.
11 Vendrá pues sobre ti mal, cuyo nacimiento no sabrás: caerá sobre ti quebrantamiento, el cual no podrás remediar: y destrucción que no sabrás, vendrá de repente sobre ti.
11 Therefore disaster will come on you. You won’t know when it dawns. Mischief will fall on you. You won’t be able to put it away. Desolation will come on you suddenly, which you don’t understand.
12 Stani sada s vračanjem svojim i s mnoštvom čini svojih, oko kojih si se trudila od mladosti svoje, ne bi li se pomogla, ne bi li se okrepila.
12 Estáte ahora en tus encantamentos, y con la multitud de tus agüeros, en los cuales te fatigaste desde tu niñez; quizá podrás mejorarte, quizá te fortificarás.
12 “Stand now with your enchantments and with the multitude of your sorceries, in which you have labored from your youth, as if you might profit, as if you might prevail.
13 Umorila si se od mnoštva namera svojih; neka stanu sada zvezdari, koji gledaju zvezde, koji proriču svakog meseca, i neka te sačuvaju od onog što će doći na te.
13 Haste fatigado en la multitud de tus consejos. Parezcan ahora y defiéndante los contempladores de los cielos, los especuladores de las estrellas, los que contaban los meses, para pronosticar lo que vendrá sobre ti.
13 You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels. Now let the astrologers, the stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators stand up and save you from the things that will happen to you.
14 Gle, oni su kao pleva, oganj će ih spaliti, ni sami sebe neće izbaviti iz plamena; neće ostati uglja da se ko ogreje, ni ognja da bi se posedelo kod njega.
14 He aquí que serán como tamo; fuego los quemará, no salvarán sus vidas del poder de la llama; no quedará brasa para calentarse, ni lumbre á la cual se sienten.
14 Behold, they are like stubble. The fire will burn them. They won’t deliver themselves from the power of the flame. It won’t be a coal to warm at or a fire to sit by.
15 Takvi će biti oni s kojima si se trudila i s kojima si trgovala od mladosti svoje, razbeći će se svaki na svoju stranu; neće biti nikoga da te izbavi.
15 Así te serán aquellos con quienes te fatigaste, tus negociantes desde tu niñez: cada uno echará por su camino, no habrá quien te salve.
15 The things that you labored in will be like this: those who have trafficked with you from your youth will each wander in his own way. There will be no one to save you.

… heed, pray, to astrologers; for of these the divine Scripture saith, Let the stargazers of the heaven stand up and save thee, and what follows: Behold, they all shall be consumed as stubble on the fire, and shall not deliver their soul from the flame.
