1 Godine koje umre car Ozija videh Gospoda gde sedi na prestolu visokom i izdignutom, i skut Mu ispunjavaše crkvu. 2 Serafimi stajahu više Njega, svaki ih imaše šest krila: dvema zaklanjaše lice svoje i dvema zaklanjaše noge svoje, a dvema leteše. 5 I rekoh: Jao meni! Pogiboh, jer sam čovek nečistih usana, i živim usred naroda nečistih usana, jer Cara Gospoda nad vojskama videh svojim očima. I ko će nam ići? A ja rekoh: Evo mene, pošalji mene. 11 A ja rekoh: Dokle, Gospode?

What the Fathers said
Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).
How these were chosen
“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).
For the Scripture saith, "Ten thousand times ten thousand stood around Him, and thousands of thousands ministered unto Him, and cried, Holy, holy, holy, [is] the Lord of Sabaoth; the whole creation is full of His glory." And let us therefore, conscientiously gathering together in harmony, cry to Him earnestly, as with one mouth, that we may be made partakers …
After this invisible manner, therefore, did they see God, as also Esaias says, "I have seen with mine eyes the King, the Lord of hosts," pointing out that man should behold God with his eyes, and hear His voice.
… that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded, according as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of remorse, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this day"?

"For in them is fulfilled," saith He, "the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand, and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive." Seest thou the prophet likewise, accusing them with this same accuracy?

And this throne the Prophet Esaias having beheld before the incarnate coming of the Saviour, says, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the rest.
