ULB Unlocked Literal Bible WEB World English Bible (Classic, with Deuterocanon) 1 In those days, there was again a great crowd, and they had nothing to eat. Jesus called his disciples and said to them, 1 EN aquellos días, como hubo gran gentío, y no tenían qué comer, Jesús llamó á sus discípulos, y les dijo:
1 In those days, when there was a very great multitude, and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to himself and said to them,
2 “I have compassion on the crowd, because they continue to be with me already for three days and have nothing to eat. 2 Tengo compasión de la multitud, porque ya hace tres días que están conmigo, y no tienen qué comer:
2 “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have stayed with me now three days and have nothing to eat.
3 If I send them away to their home without eating, they may faint on the way. Some of them have come a long way.” 3 Y si los enviare en ayunas á sus casas, desmayarán en el camino; porque algunos de ellos han venido de lejos.
3 If I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come a long way.”
4 His disciples answered him, “Where can we get enough loaves of bread in such a deserted place to satisfy these people?” 4 Y sus discípulos le respondieron: ¿De dónde podrá alguien hartar á estos de pan aquí en el desierto?
4 His disciples answered him, “From where could one satisfy these people with bread here in a deserted place?”
5 He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.” 5 Y les preguntó: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Y ellos dijeron: Siete.
5 He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.”
6 He commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground. He took the seven loaves, gave thanks, and broke them. He gave them to his disciples to set before them, and they set them before the crowd.
6 He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves. Having given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to serve, and they served the multitude.
7 They also had a few small fish, and after he gave thanks for them, he commanded the disciples to serve these as well.
7 They also had a few small fish. Having blessed them, he said to serve these also.
8 They ate and were satisfied, and they picked up the remaining broken pieces, seven large baskets.
8 They ate and were filled. They took up seven baskets of broken pieces that were left over.
9 There were about four thousand people. Then he sent them away.
9 Those who had eaten were about four thousand. Then he sent them away.
10 Immediately he got into the boat with his disciples, and they went into the region of Dalmanutha.
10 Immediately he entered into the boat with his disciples and came into the region of Dalmanutha.
11 Then the Pharisees came out and began to argue with him. They sought from him a sign from heaven, to test him.
11 The Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking from him a sign from heaven and testing him.
12 He sighed deeply in his spirit and said, “Why does this generation seek for a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.” 12 Y gimiendo en su espíritu, dice: ¿Por qué pide señal esta generación?
12 He sighed deeply in his spirit and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Most certainly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
13 Then he left them, got into a boat again, and went away to the other side.
13 He left them, and again entering into the boat, departed to the other side.
14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread with them. They had no more than one loaf of bread in the boat.
14 They forgot to take bread; and they didn’t have more than one loaf in the boat with them.
15 He warned them and said, “Keep watch and be on guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod.” 15 Y les mandó, diciendo: Mirad, guardaos de la levadura de los Fariseos, y de la levadura de Herodes.
15 He warned them, saying, “Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod.”
16 The disciples reasoned with each other, “It is because we have no bread.” 16 Y altercaban los unos con los otros diciendo: Pan no tenemos.
16 They reasoned with one another, saying, “It’s because we have no bread.”
17 Jesus was aware of this, and he said to them, “Why are you reasoning about not having bread? Do you not yet perceive? Do you not understand? Have your hearts become so dull? 17 Y como Jesús lo entendió, les dice: ¿Qué altercáis, porque no tenéis pan? ¿no consideráis ni entendéis? ¿aun tenéis endurecido vuestro corazón?
17 Jesus, perceiving it, said to them, “Why do you reason that it’s because you have no bread? Don’t you perceive yet or understand? Is your heart still hardened?
18 You have eyes, do you not see? You have ears, do you not hear? Do you not remember? 18 ¿Teniendo ojos no veis, y teniendo oídos no oís? ¿y no os acordáis?
18 Having eyes, don’t you see? Having ears, don’t you hear? Don’t you remember?
19 When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces of bread did you take up?” They said to him, “Twelve.” 19 Cuando partí los cinco panes entre cinco mil, ¿cuántas espuertas llenas de los pedazos alzasteis? Y ellos dijeron: Doce.
19 When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They told him, “Twelve.”
20 “When I broke the seven loaves among the four thousand, how many basketfuls did you take up?” They said to him, “Seven.” 20 Y cuando los siete panes entre cuatro mil, ¿cuántas espuertas llenas de los pedazos alzasteis? Y ellos dijeron: Siete.
20 “When the seven loaves fed the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They told him, “Seven.”
21 He said, “Do you not yet understand?” 21 Y les dijo: ¿Cómo aun no entendéis?
21 He asked them, “Don’t you understand yet?”
22 They came to Bethsaida. The people there brought to him a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.
22 He came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to him and begged him to touch him.
23 Jesus took hold of the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” 23 Entonces, tomando la mano del ciego, le sacó fuera de la aldea; y escupiendo en sus ojos, y poniéndole las manos encima, le preguntó si veía algo.
23 He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spat on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.
24 He looked up, and said, “I see men who look like walking trees.” 24 Y él mirando, dijo: Veo los hombres, pues veo que andan como árboles.
24 He looked up, and said, “I see men, but I see them like walking trees.”
25 Then he again laid his hands upon his eyes, and the man opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw all things clearly.
25 Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly.
26 Jesus sent him away to his home and said, “Do not enter the town.” 26 Y envióle á su casa, diciendo: No entres en la aldea, ni [lo] digas á nadie en la aldea.
26 He sent him away to his house, saying, “Don’t enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village.”
27 Jesus went out with his disciples into the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, “Who do the people say that I am?” 27 Y salió Jesús y sus discípulos por las aldeas de Cesarea de Filipo.
27 Jesus went out, with his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, “Who do men say that I am?”
28 They answered him and said, “John the Baptist. Others say, 'Elijah,' and others, 'One of the prophets.'” 28 Y ellos respondieron: Juan Bautista; y otros, Elías; y otros, Alguno de los profetas.
28 They told him, “John the Baptizer, and others say Elijah, but others, one of the prophets.”
29 He asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said to him, “You are the Christ.” 29 Entonces él les dice: Y vosotros, ¿quién decís que soy yo?
29 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ.”
30 Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.
30 He commanded them that they should tell no one about him.
31 He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and would be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and would be killed, and after three days rise up. 31 Y comenzó á enseñarles, que convenía que el Hijo del hombre padeciese mucho, y ser reprobado de los ancianos, y de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los escribas, y ser muerto, y resucitar después de tres días.
31 He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
32 He said this clearly. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. 32 Y claramente decía esta palabra. Entonces Pedro le tomó, y le comenzó á reprender.
32 He spoke to them openly. Peter took him and began to rebuke him.
33 But Jesus turned and looked at his disciples and then he rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan! You are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of people.” 33 Y él, volviéndose y mirando á sus discípulos, riñó á Pedro, diciendo: Apártate de mí, Satanás; porque no sabes las cosas que son de Dios, sino las que son de los hombres.
33 But he, turning around and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of men.”
34 Then he called the crowd and his disciples together, and he said to them, “If anyone wants to follow me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. 34 Y llamando á la gente con sus discípulos, les dijo: Cualquiera que quisiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese á sí mismo, y tome su cruz, y sígame.
34 He called the multitude to himself with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake and for the gospel, will save it. 35 Porque el que quisiere salvar su vida, la perderá; y el que perdiere su vida por causa de mí y del evangelio, la salvará.
35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it.
36 What does it profit a person to gain the whole world and then forfeit his life?
36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?
37 What can a person give in exchange for his life?
37 For what will a man give in exchange for his life?
38 Whoever is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” 38 Porque el que se avergonzare de mí y de mis palabras en esta generación adulterina y pecadora, el Hijo del hombre se avergonzará también de él, cuando vendrá en la gloria de su Padre con los santos ángeles.
38 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
