ASV Versión Estándar Americana (1901) WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 Moreover Jehovah answered Job, and said, 1 ENTONCES respondió Jehová á Job desde la oscuridad, y dijo:
1 Moreover Yahweh answered Job,
2 Shall he that cavilleth contend with the Almighty? He that argueth with God, let him answer it. 2 Cíñete ahora como varón tus lomos; yo te preguntaré, y explícame.
2 “Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.”
3 Then Job answered Jehovah, and said, 3 ¿Invalidarás tú también mi juicio? ¿me condenarás á mí, para justificarte á ti?
3 Then Job answered Yahweh,
4 Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer thee? I lay my hand upon my mouth. 4 ¿Tienes tú brazo como Dios? ¿y tronarás tú con voz como él?
4 “Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.
5 Once have I spoken, and I will not answer; Yea, twice, but I will proceed no further. 5 Atavíate ahora de majestad y de alteza: y vístete de honra y de hermosura.
5 I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”
6 Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, 6 Esparce furores de tu ira: y mira á todo soberbio, y abátelo.
6 Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind:
7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. 7 Mira á todo soberbio, y humíllalo, y quebranta á los impíos en su asiento.
7 “Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.
8 Wilt thou even annul my judgment? Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified? 8 Encúbrelos á todos en el polvo, venda sus rostros en la oscuridad;
8 Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?
9 Or hast thou an arm like God? And canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
9 Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?
10 Deck thyself now with excellency and dignity; And array thyself with honor and majesty. 10 He aquí ahora behemoth, al cual yo hice contigo; hierba come como buey.
10 “Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.
11 Pour forth the overflowings of thine anger; And look upon every one that is proud, and abase him.
11 Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.
12 Look on every one that is proud, [and] bring him low; And tread down the wicked where they stand.
12 Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place.
13 Hide them in the dust together; Bind their faces in the hidden [place]. 13 Sus huesos son fuertes [como] bronce, y sus miembros como barras de hierro.
13 Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place.
14 Then will I also confess of thee That thine own right hand can save thee.
14 Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.
15 Behold now, behemoth, which I made as well as thee; He eateth grass as an ox. 15 Ciertamente los montes producen hierba para él: y toda bestia del campo retoza allá.
15 “See now behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.
16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, And his force is in the muscles of his belly.
16 Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
17 He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
18 His bones are [as] tubes of brass; His limbs are like bars of iron.
18 His bones are like tubes of bronze. His limbs are like bars of iron.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God: He [only] that made him giveth him his sword.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword.
