1 The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
2 As it has been written in the Prophets: “Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, || Who will prepare Your way before You. 2 Como está escrito en Isaías el profeta: He aquí yo envío á mi mensajero delante de tu faz, que apareje tu camino delante de ti.
2 As it is written in the prophets, “Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you:
3 A voice of one calling in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the LORD, || Make His paths straight.” 3 Voz del que clama en el desierto: Aparejad el camino del Señor; enderezad sus veredas.
3 the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord! Make his paths straight!’”
4 John came immersing in the wilderness, and proclaiming an immersion of conversion for forgiveness of sins, 4 Bautizaba Juan en el desierto, y predicaba el bautismo del arrepentimiento para remisión de pecados.
4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching the baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins.
5 and there were going forth to him all the region of Judea, and they of Jerusalem, and they were all immersed by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. 5 Y salía á él toda la provincia de Judea, y los de Jerusalem; y eran todos bautizados por él en el río de Jordán, confesando sus pecados.
5 All the country of Judea and all those of Jerusalem went out to him. They were baptized by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins.
6 And John was clothed with camel’s hair, and a girdle of skin around his loins, and eating locusts and honey of the field, 6 Y Juan andaba vestido de pelos de camello, y con un cinto de cuero alrededor de sus lomos; y comía langostas y miel silvestre.
6 John was clothed with camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist. He ate locusts and wild honey.
7 and he proclaimed, saying, “He comes—who is mightier than I—after me, of whom I am not worthy—having stooped down—to loose the strap of His sandals; 7 Y predicaba, diciendo: Viene tras mí el que es más poderoso que yo, al cual no soy digno de desatar encorvado la correa de sus zapatos.
7 He preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen.
8 I indeed immersed you in water, but He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit.” 8 Yo á la verdad os he bautizado con agua; mas él os bautizará con Espíritu Santo.
8 I baptized you in water, but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.”
9 And it came to pass in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was immersed by John in the Jordan; 9 Y aconteció en aquellos días, que Jesús vino de Nazaret de Galilea, y fué bautizado por Juan en el Jordán.
9 In those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 and immediately coming up from the water, He saw the heavens dividing, and the Spirit coming down on Him as a dove; 10 Y luego, subiendo del agua, vió abrirse los cielos, y al Espíritu como paloma, que descendía sobre él.
10 Immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.
11 and a voice came out of the heavens, “You are My Son, the Beloved, in whom I delighted.” 11 Y hubo [una] voz de los cielos [que decía]: Tú eres mi Hijo amado; en ti tomo contentamiento.
11 A voice came out of the sky, “You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
12 And immediately the Spirit puts Him forth into the wilderness, 12 Y luego el Espíritu le impele al desierto.
12 Immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness.
13 and He was there in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan, and He was with the beasts, and the messengers were ministering to Him. 13 Y estuvo allí en el desierto cuarenta días, y era tentado de Satanás; y estaba con las fieras; y los ángeles le servían.
13 He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals; and the angels were serving him.
14 And after the delivering up of John, Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God, 14 Mas después que Juan fué encarcelado, Jesús vino á Galilea predicando el evangelio del reino de Dios,
14 Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Good News of God’s Kingdom,
15 and saying, “The time has been fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God has come near, convert and believe in the good news.” 15 Y diciendo: El tiempo es cumplido, y el reino de Dios está cerca: arrepentíos, y creed al evangelio.
15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and God’s Kingdom is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”
16 And walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon, and his brother Andrew, casting a drag into the sea, for they were fishers, 16 Y pasando junto á la mar de Galilea, vió á Simón, y á Andrés su hermano, que echaban la red en la mar; porque eran pescadores.
16 Passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
17 and Jesus said to them, “Come after Me, and I will make you to become fishers of men”; 17 Y les dijo Jesús: Venid en pos de mí, y haré que seáis pescadores de hombres.
17 Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.”
18 and immediately, having left their nets, they followed Him. 18 Y luego, dejadas sus redes, le siguieron.
18 Immediately they left their nets, and followed him.
19 And having gone on there a little, He saw James of Zebedee, and his brother John, and they were in the boat refitting the nets, 19 Y pasando de allí un poco más adelante, vió á Jacobo, [hijo] de Zebedeo, y á Juan su hermano, también ellos en el navío, que aderezaban las redes.
19 Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.
20 and immediately He called them, and having left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, they went away after Him. 20 Y luego los llamó: y dejando á su padre Zebedeo en el barco con los jornaleros, fueron en pos de él.
20 Immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.
21 And they go on to Capernaum, and immediately, on the Sabbaths, having gone into the synagogue, He was teaching, 21 Y entraron en Capernaum; y luego los sábados, entrando en la sinagoga, enseñaba.
21 They went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.
22 and they were astonished at His teaching, for He was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes. 22 Y se admiraban de su doctrina; porque les enseñaba como quien tiene potestad, y no como los escribas.
22 They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, 23 Y había en la sinagoga de ellos un hombre con espíritu inmundo, el cual dió voces,
23 Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,
24 saying, “What [regards] us and You, Jesus the Nazarene? You came to destroy us; I have known You, who You are—the Holy One of God.” 24 Diciendo: ¡Ah! ¿qué tienes con nosotros, Jesús Nazareno? ¿Has venido á destruirnos? Sé quién eres, el Santo de Dios.
24 saying, “Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God!”
25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silenced, and come forth out of him,” 25 Y Jesús le riñó, diciendo: Enmudece, y sal de él.
25 Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”
26 and the unclean spirit having convulsed him, and having cried with a great voice, came forth out of him, 26 Y el espíritu inmundo, haciéndole pedazos, y clamando á gran voz, salió de él.
26 The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
27 and they were all amazed, so as to reason among themselves, saying, “What is this? What new teaching [is] this? That with authority He also commands the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!” 27 Y todos se maravillaron, de tal manera que inquirían entre sí, diciendo: ¿Qué es esto? ¿Qué nueva doctrina es ésta, que con potestad aun á los espíritus inmundos manda, y le obedecen?
27 They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? What can this new doctrine be? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”
28 And the fame of Him went forth immediately to all the region of Galilee. 28 Y vino luego su fama por toda la provincia alrededor de Galilea.
28 The report of him went out immediately into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.
29 And immediately, having come forth out of the synagogue, they went into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John, 29 Y luego saliendo de la sinagoga, vinieron á casa de Simón y de Andrés, con Jacobo y Juan.
29 Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30 and the mother-in-law of Simon was lying fevered, and immediately they tell Him about her, 30 Y la suegra de Simón estaba acostada con calentura; y le hablaron luego de ella.
30 Now Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her.
31 and having come near, He raised her up, having laid hold of her hand, and the fever left her immediately, and she was ministering to them. 31 Entonces llegando él, la tomó de su mano y la levantó; y luego la dejó la calentura, y les servía.
31 He came and took her by the hand and raised her up. The fever left her immediately, and she served them.
32 And evening having come, when the sun set, they brought to Him all who were ill and who were demoniacs, 32 Y cuando fué la tarde, luego que el sol se puso, traían á él todos los que tenían mal, y endemoniados;
32 At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick and those who were possessed by demons.
33 and the whole city was gathered together near the door, 33 Y toda la ciudad se juntó á la puerta.
33 All the city was gathered together at the door.
34 and He healed many who were ill of manifold diseases, and He cast forth many demons, and was not permitting the demons to speak, because they knew Him. 34 Y sanó á muchos que estaban enfermos de diversas enfermedades, y echó fuera muchos demonios; y no dejaba decir á los demonios que le conocían.
34 He healed many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons. He didn’t allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.
35 And very early, it being yet night, having risen, He went forth, and went away to a desolate place, and was praying there; 35 Y levantándose muy de mañana, aun muy de noche, salió y se fué á un lugar desierto, y allí oraba.
35 Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.
36 and Simon and those with him went in quest of Him, 36 Y le siguió Simón, y los que estaban con él;
36 Simon and those who were with him searched for him.
37 and having found Him, they say to Him, “All seek You”; 37 Y hallándole, le dicen: Todos te buscan.
37 They found him and told him, “Everyone is looking for you.”
38 and He says to them, “We may go into the next towns, that there also I may preach, for—for this I came forth.” 38 Y les dice: Vamos á los lugares vecinos, para que predique también allí; porque para esto he venido.
38 He said to them, “Let’s go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason.”
39 And He was preaching in their synagogues, in all Galilee, and is casting out the demons, 39 Y predicaba en las sinagogas de ellos en toda Galilea, y echaba fuera los demonios.
39 He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.
40 and there comes to Him a leper, calling on Him, and kneeling to Him, and saying to Him, “If You may will, You are able to cleanse me.” 40 Y un leproso vino á él, rogándole; é hincada la rodilla, le dice: Si quieres, puedes limpiarme.
40 A leper came to him, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, “If you want to, you can make me clean.”
41 And Jesus having been moved with compassion, having stretched forth the hand, touched him and says to him, “I will, be cleansed”; 41 Y Jesús, teniendo misericordia de él, extendió su mano, y le tocó, y le dice: Quiero, sé limpio.
41 Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.”
42 and He having spoken, immediately the leprosy went away from him, and he was cleansed. 42 Y así que hubo él hablado, la lepra se fué luego de aquél, y fué limpio.
42 When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him and he was made clean.
43 And having sternly charged him, immediately He put him forth, 43 Entonces le apercibió, y despidióle luego,
43 He strictly warned him and immediately sent him out,
44 and says to him, “See [that] you may say nothing to anyone, but go away, show yourself to the priest, and bring near for your cleansing the things Moses directed, for a testimony to them.” 44 Y le dice: Mira, no digas á nadie nada; sino ve, muéstrate al sacerdote, y ofrece por tu limpieza lo que Moisés mandó, para testimonio á ellos.
44 and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”
45 And he, having gone forth, began to proclaim much, and to spread the thing abroad, so that He was no longer able to openly enter into the city, but He was outside in desolate places, and they were coming to Him from every quarter. 45 Mas él salido, comenzó á publicarlo mucho, y á divulgar el hecho, de manera que ya Jesús no podía entrar manifiestamente en la ciudad, sino que estaba fuera en los lugares desiertos; y venían á él de todas partes.
45 But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places. People came to him from everywhere.
