LSV Literal Standard Version WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 And it comes to pass, when it has been heard by Sanballat, and Tobiah, and by Geshem the Arabian, and by the rest of our enemies, that I have built the wall, and there has not been left in it a breach (also, until that time I had not set up the doors in the gates), 1 Y FUÉ que habiendo oído Sanballat, y Tobías, y Gesem el Arabe, y los demás nuestros enemigos, que había yo edificado el muro, y que no quedaba en él portillo, (aunque hasta aquel tiempo no había puesto en las puertas las hojas,)
1 Now when it was reported to Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arabian, and to the rest of our enemies that I had built the wall, and that there was no breach left in it (though even to that time I had not set up the doors in the gates),
2 that Sanballat sends, also Geshem, to me, saying, “Come and we meet together in the villages, in the Valley of Ono”; and they are thinking to do to me evil.
2 Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, “Come! Let’s meet together in the villages in the plain of Ono.” But they intended to harm me.
3 And I send to them messengers, saying, “A great work I am doing, and I am not able to come down; why does the work cease when I let it alone, and have come down to you?” 3 Y enviéles mensajeros, diciendo: Yo hago una grande obra, y no puedo ir; porque cesaría la obra, dejándola yo para ir á vosotros.
3 I sent messengers to them, saying, “I am doing a great work, so that I can’t come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and come down to you?”
4 And they send to me, according to this word, four times, and I return them [word] according to this word.
4 They sent to me four times like this; and I answered them the same way.
5 And Sanballat sends to me, according to this word, a fifth time, his servant, and an open letter in his hand; 5 Envió entonces Sanballat á mí su criado, á [decir] lo mismo por quinta vez, con una carta abierta en su mano,
5 Then Sanballat sent his servant to me the same way the fifth time with an open letter in his hand,
6 it is written in it, “Among the nations it has been heard, and Gashmu is saying: You and the Jews are thinking to rebel, therefore you are building the wall, and you have been to them for a king—according to these words! 6 En la cual estaba escrito: Hase oído entre las gentes, y Gasmu lo dice, que tú y los Judíos pensáis rebelaros; y que por eso edificas tú el muro, con la mira, según estas palabras, de ser tú su rey;
6 in which was written, “It is reported among the nations, and Gashmu says it, that you and the Jews intend to rebel. Because of that, you are building the wall. You would be their king, according to these words.
7 And also, you have appointed prophets to call for you in Jerusalem, saying, A king [is] in Judah, and now it is heard by the king according to these words; and now come, and we take counsel together.” 7 Y que has puesto profetas que prediquen de ti en Jerusalem, diciendo: ¡Rey en Judá!
7 You have also appointed prophets to proclaim of you at Jerusalem, saying, ‘There is a king in Judah!’ Now it will be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let’s take counsel together.”
8 And I send to him, saying, “It has not been according to these words that you are saying, for from your own heart you are devising them”; 8 Entonces envié yo á decirle: No hay tal cosa como dices, sino que de tu corazón tú lo inventas.
8 Then I sent to him, saying, “There are no such things done as you say, but you imagine them out of your own heart.”
9 for all of them are making us afraid, saying, “Their hands are too feeble for the work, and it is not done”; and now, strengthen my hands.
9 For they all would have made us afraid, saying, “Their hands will be weakened from the work, that it not be done.” But now, strengthen my hands.
10 And I have entered the house of Shemaiah son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabeel—and he is restrained—and he says, “Let us meet at the house of God, at the inside of the temple, and we shut the doors of the temple, for they are coming to slay you—indeed, by night they are coming to slay you.” 10 Vine luego en secreto á casa de Semaías hijo de Delaías, hijo de Mehetabeel, porque él estaba encerrado; el cual [me] dijo: Juntémonos en la casa de Dios dentro del templo, y cerremos las puertas del templo, porque vienen para matarte; sí, esta noche vendrán á matarte.
10 I went to the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabel, who was shut in at his home; and he said, “Let us meet together in God’s house, within the temple, and let’s shut the doors of the temple; for they will come to kill you. Yes, in the night they will come to kill you.”
11 And I say, “A man such as I—does he flee? And who as I, that goes into the temple, and lives? I do not go in.” 11 Entonces dije: ¿Un hombre como yo ha de huir? No entraré.
11 I said, “Should a man like me flee? Who is there that, being such as I, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.”
12 And I discern, and behold, God has not sent him, for in the prophecy he has spoken to me both Tobiah and Sanballat hired him, 12 Y entendí que Dios no lo había enviado, sino que hablaba aquella profecía contra mí, porque Tobías y Sanballat le habían alquilado por salario.
12 I discerned, and behold, God had not sent him, but he pronounced this prophecy against me. Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
13 so that he [is] a hired worker, that I may fear and do so, and I had sinned, and it had been to them for an evil name that they may reproach me. 13 Porque sobornado fué para hacerme temer así, y que pecase, y les sirviera de mal nombre con que fuera yo infamado.
13 He was hired so that I would be afraid, do so, and sin, and that they might have material for an evil report, that they might reproach me.
14 Be mindful, O my God, of Tobiah, and of Sanballat, according to these his works, and also, of Noadiah the prophetess, and of the rest of the prophets who have been making me afraid.
14 “Remember, my God, Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and also the prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets that would have put me in fear.”
15 And the wall is completed in the twenty-fifth of Elul, on the fifty-second day; 15 Acabóse pues el muro el veinticinco [del mes] de Elul, en cincuenta y dos días.
15 So the wall was finished in the twenty-fifth day of Elul, in fifty-two days.
16 and it comes to pass, when all our enemies have heard, and all the nations who are all around us see, that they fall greatly in their own eyes, and know that by our God has this work been done.
16 When all our enemies heard of it, all the nations that were around us were afraid, and they lost their confidence; for they perceived that this work was done by our God.
17 Also, in those days the nobles of Judah are multiplying their letters going to Tobiah, and those of Tobiah are coming to them; 17 Asimismo en aquellos días iban muchas cartas de los principales de Judá á Tobías, y las de Tobías venían á ellos.
17 Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters to Tobiah, and Tobiah’s letters came to them.
18 for many in Judah are sworn to him, for he [is] son-in-law to Shechaniah son of Arah, and his son Jehohanan has taken the daughter of Meshullam son of Berechiah; 18 Porque muchos en Judá se habían conjurado con él, porque era yerno de Sechânías hijo de Ara; y Johanán su hijo había tomado la hija de Mesullam, hijo de Berechîas.
18 For there were many in Judah sworn to him because he was the son-in-law of Shecaniah the son of Arah; and his son Jehohanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah as wife.
19 also, they have been speaking of his good deeds before me, and they have been taking my words out to him; Tobiah has sent letters to make me afraid.
19 Also they spoke of his good deeds before me, and reported my words to him. Tobiah sent letters to put me in fear.
