ULB Unlocked Literal Bible WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 So Agrippa said to Paul, “You may speak for yourself.” Then Paul stretched out his hand and made his defense.
1 Agrippa said to Paul, “You may speak for yourself.” Then Paul stretched out his hand, and made his defense.
2 “I regard myself as happy, King Agrippa, to make my case before you today against all the accusations of the Jews; 2 Acerca de todas las cosas de que soy acusado por los Judíos, oh rey Agripa, me tengo por dichoso de que haya hoy de defenderme delante de ti;
2 “I think myself happy, King Agrippa, that I am to make my defense before you today concerning all the things the Jews accuse me of,
3 especially, because you are an expert in all the Jewish customs and questions. So I ask you to hear me patiently.
3 especially because you are expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews. Therefore I beg you to hear me patiently.
4 Truly, all the Jews know how I lived from my youth in my own nation and at Jerusalem.
4 “Indeed, all the Jews know my way of life from my youth up, which was from the beginning among my own nation and at Jerusalem;
5 They knew me from the beginning and they should admit that I lived as a Pharisee, the strictest party of our religion.
5 having known me from the first, if they are willing to testify, that after the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
6 Now I stand here to be judged because of my certain hope in the promise made by God to our fathers. 6 Y ahora, por la esperanza de la promesa que hizo Dios á nuestros padres, soy llamado en juicio;
6 Now I stand here to be judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers,
7 For this is the promise that our twelve tribes sought to receive as they earnestly worshiped God night and day.
7 which our twelve tribes, earnestly serving night and day, hope to attain. Concerning this hope I am accused by the Jews, King Agrippa!
8 Why should any of you think it is unbelievable that God raises the dead?
8 Why is it judged incredible with you if God does raise the dead?
9 Now indeed, I myself thought that I should do many things against the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
9 “I myself most certainly thought that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
10 I did these in Jerusalem. I locked up many of the saints in prison by the authority I received from the chief priests, and when they were killed, I cast my vote against them.
10 I also did this in Jerusalem. I both shut up many of the saints in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death I gave my vote against them.
11 I punished them many times in all the synagogues and I tried to force them to blaspheme. I was furiously enraged against them and I persecuted them even to foreign cities.
11 Punishing them often in all the synagogues, I tried to make them blaspheme. Being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.
12 While I was doing this, I went to Damascus with authority and orders from the chief priests; 12 En lo cual [ocupado], yendo á Damasco con potestad y comisión de los príncipes de los sacerdotes,
12 “Whereupon as I traveled to Damascus with the authority and commission from the chief priests,
13 and on the way there, at midday, King, I saw a light from heaven that was brighter than the sun and it shone around both me and the men who were traveling with me. 13 En mitad del día, oh rey, vi en el camino una luz del cielo, que sobrepujaba el resplandor del sol, la cual me rodeó y á los que iban conmigo.
13 at noon, O king, I saw on the way a light from the sky, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who traveled with me.
14 When we all fell to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me that said in the Hebrew language, 'Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?
14 When we had all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’
15 Then I said, 'Who are you, Lord?' The Lord replied, 'I am Jesus whom you persecute. 15 Yo entonces dije: ¿Quién eres, Señor? Y el Señor dijo: Yo soy Jesús, á quien tú persigues.
15 “I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ “He said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
16 Now get up and stand on your feet; because for this purpose I appeared to you, to appoint you to be a servant and a witness concerning the things that you know about me now and the things that I will show to you later; 16 Mas levántate, y ponte sobre tus pies; porque para esto te he aparecido, para ponerte por ministro y testigo de las cosas que has visto, y de aquellas en que apareceré á ti:
16 But arise, and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose: to appoint you a servant and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will reveal to you;
17 and I will rescue you from the people and from the Gentiles to whom I am sending you, 17 Librándote del pueblo y de los Gentiles, á los cuales ahora te envío,
17 delivering you from the people and from the Gentiles, to whom I send you,
18 to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive from God the forgiveness of sins and the inheritance that I give to them who are sanctified by faith in me.' 18 Para que abras sus ojos, para que se conviertan de las tinieblas á la luz, y de la potestad de Satanás á Dios; para que reciban, por la fe que es en mí, remisión de pecados y suerte entre los santificados.
18 to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
19 Therefore, King Agrippa, I did not disobey the heavenly vision; 19 Por lo cual, oh rey Agripa, no fuí rebelde á la visión celestial:
19 “Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,
20 but, to those in Damascus first, and then at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, I gave them the message that that they should repent and turn to God, doing deeds worthy of repentance.
20 but declared first to them of Damascus, at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.
21 For this cause the Jews arrested me in the temple and tried to kill me. 21 Por causa de esto los Judíos, tomándome en el templo, tentaron matarme.
21 For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple and tried to kill me.
22 God has helped me until now, so I stand and testify to the common people and to the great ones about nothing more than what the prophets and Moses said would happen— 22 Mas ayudado del auxilio de Dios, persevero hasta el día de hoy, dando testimonio á pequeños y á grandes, no diciendo nada fuera de las cosas que los profetas y Moisés dijeron que habían de venir:
22 Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen,
23 that Christ must suffer and that by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light to our own people and to the Gentiles.” 23 Que Cristo había de padecer, y ser el primero de la resurrección de los muertos, para anunciar luz al pueblo y á los Gentiles.
23 how the Christ must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Gentiles.”
24 As Paul completed his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, “Paul, you are insane; your great learning makes you insane.” 24 Y diciendo él estas cosas en su defensa, Festo á gran voz dijo: Estás loco, Pablo: las muchas letras te vuelven loco.
24 As he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, “Paul, you are crazy! Your great learning is driving you insane!”
25 But Paul said, “I am not insane, most excellent Festus, but what I am declaring is true and rational. 25 Mas él dijo: No estoy loco, excelentísimo Festo, sino que hablo palabras de verdad y de templanza.
25 But he said, “I am not crazy, most excellent Festus, but boldly declare words of truth and reasonableness.
26 For the king knows about these things; and so, I speak freely to him, for I am persuaded that none of this is hidden from him; for this has not been done in a corner.
26 For the king knows of these things, to whom also I speak freely. For I am persuaded that none of these things is hidden from him, for this has not been done in a corner.
27 Do you believe the prophets, King Agrippa? I know that you believe.” 27 ¿Crees, rey Agripa, á los profetas? Yo sé que crees.
27 King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you believe.”
28 Agrippa said to Paul, “In a short time would you persuade me and make me a Christian?” 28 Entonces Agripa dijo á Pablo: Por poco me persuades á ser Cristiano.
28 Agrippa said to Paul, “With a little persuasion are you trying to make me a Christian?”
29 Paul said, “I pray to God, that whether in a short or long time, not you only, but also all that hear me today, would be like me, but without these prison chains.” 29 Y Pablo dijo: ¡Pluguiese á Dios que por poco ó por mucho, no solamente tú, mas también todos los que hoy me oyen, fueseis hechos tales cual yo soy, excepto estas prisiones!
29 Paul said, “I pray to God, that whether with little or with much, not only you, but also all that hear me today, might become such as I am, except for these bonds.”
30 Then the king stood up, and the governor, and Bernice also, and those who were sitting with them; 30 Y como hubo dicho estas cosas, se levantó el rey, y el presidente, y Bernice, y los que se habían sentado con ellos;
30 The king rose up with the governor and Bernice, and those who sat with them.
31 when they left the hall, they talked to one another and said, “This man does nothing worthy of death or of bonds.” 31 Y como se retiraron aparte, hablaban los unos á los otros, diciendo: Ninguna cosa digna ni de muerte, ni de prisión, hace este hombre.
31 When they had withdrawn, they spoke to one another, saying, “This man does nothing worthy of death or of bonds.”
32 Agrippa said to Festus, “This man could have been freed if he had not appealed to Caesar.” 32 Y Agripa dijo á Festo: Podía este hombre ser suelto, si no hubiera apelado á César.
32 Agrippa said to Festus, “This man might have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.”
