ULB Unlocked Literal Bible
RV1909 Reina-Valera 1909
1 Praise Yahweh. Praise the name of Yahweh. Praise him, you servants of Yahweh,
1 Aleluya. ALABAD el nombre de Jehová; alabad[le], siervos de Jehová;
2 you who stand in Yahweh's house, in the courtyards of the house of our God.
3 Praise Yahweh, for he is good; sing praises to his name, for it is pleasant to do so.
4 For Yahweh has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his possession.
5 I know that Yahweh is great, that our Lord is above all gods.
6 Whatever Yahweh desires, he does in heaven, on earth, in the seas and all the ocean depths.
7 He brings the clouds from far away, making lightning bolts accompany the rain and bringing the wind out of his storehouse.
8 He killed the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and animals.
9 He sent signs and wonders into your midst, Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.
10 He attacked many nations and killed mighty kings,
11 Sihon king of the Amorites and Og king of Bashan and all the kingdoms of Canaan.
12 He gave us their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to Israel his people.
13 Your name, Yahweh, endures forever; your renown, Yahweh, endures throughout all generations.
14 For Yahweh defends his people and has compassion on his servants.
15 The nations' idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
16 Those idols have mouths, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see;
16 Tienen boca, y no hablan; tienen ojos, y no ven;
17 they have ears, but they do not hear, nor is there breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them are like them, as is everyone who trusts in them.
19 Descendants of Israel, bless Yahweh; descendants of Aaron, bless Yahweh.
19 Casa de Israel, bendecid á Jehová: casa de Aarón, bendecid á Jehová:
20 Descendants of Levi, bless Yahweh; you who honor Yahweh, bless Yahweh.
21 Blessed be Yahweh in Zion, he who lives in Jerusalem. Praise Yahweh.

  1. Comentario Augustine of Hippo, Expositions on the Psalms (Psalm CXXXIV)

    (ver. 1), "who stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God" (ver. 2). Why has he added, "in the courts"? Courts mean the wider spaces of a house. He who stands in the courts is not straitened, is not confined, in some fashion is enlarged.

  2. Cita 135:5 Augustine of Hippo, Sermons on Selected Lessons of the New Testament (Sermon LXI)

    Lo, the whole world crieth out in the Church of God, "I know that the Lord is great." Yet doubtless there are but few who are saved.

  3. Cita 135:7 Cyril of Jerusalem, Catechetical Lectures (Lecture IX)

    For so many measures of waters lie upon the clouds, yet they are not rent: but come down with all good order upon the earth. Who bringeth the winds out of their treasuries?

  4. Cita 135:6 John of Damascus, An Exact Exposition of the Orthodox Faith (Book II, Chapters XXVI–XXIX)

    For whatsoever the Lord pleased that did He in heaven and in earth, and no one resisted His will.

  5. Cita 135:5 Augustine of Hippo, Sermons on Selected Lessons of the New Testament (Sermon LXI)

    … with how great assurance will the purified mass, standing at the Right Hand, fearing now for itself the admixture of no evil men, nor the loss of any of the good, now about to reign with Christ, say, "I know that the Lord is great"!
