Notas sobre este texto (1)

1 Yahweh reigns; let the nations tremble. He sits enthroned above the cherubim; the earth quakes. 2 Yahweh is great in Zion; he is exalted above all the nations. 3 Let them praise your great and awesome name; he is holy. 4 The king is strong, and he loves justice. You have established fairness; you have done righteousness and justice in Jacob. 5 Praise Yahweh our God and worship at his footstool. He is holy. 6 Moses and Aaron were among his priests, and Samuel was among those who called on his name. They called to Yahweh, and he answered them. 7 He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud. They kept his solemn commands and the statutes that he gave them. 8 You answered them, Yahweh our God. A forgiving God you were to them, but one who punished their sinful deeds. 9 Praise Yahweh our God, and worship at his holy hill, for Yahweh our God is holy.

  1. Comentario Augustine of Hippo, Expositions on the Psalms (Psalm XCVIII)

(ver. 1). The new man knoweth this, the old man knoweth it not. The old man is the old life, and the new man the new life: the old life is derived from Adam, the new life is formed in Christ. But in this Psalm, the whole world is enjoined to sing a new song.

  2. Cita 99:1 Irenaeus of Lyons, Against Heresies (Book IV, Chapter XXXII)

And those who said, "The Lord hath reigned; let the people be enraged: [even] He who sitteth upon the cherubim; let the earth be moved," were thus predicting partly that wrath from all nations which after His ascension came upon those who believed in Him, with the movement of the whole earth against the Church; and partly the fact that, …
