1 Και όταν έλθωσιν επί σε πάντα τα πράγματα ταύτα, η ευλογία και η κατάρα, την οποίαν έθεσα ενώπιόν σου, και ανακαλέσης ταύτα εις την καρδίαν σου εν τω μέσω πάντων των εθνών, όπου αν διασκορπίση σε Κύριος ο Θεός σου,
1 Y SERÁ que, cuando te sobrevinieren todas estas cosas, la bendición y la maldición que he puesto delante de ti, y volvieres á tu corazón en medio de todas las gentes á las cuales Jehová tu Dios te hubiere echado,
1 It shall happen, when all these things have come on you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you shall call them to mind among all the nations where Yahweh your God has driven you,
2 και επιστραφής προς Κύριον τον Θεόν σου και υπακούσης εις την φωνήν αυτού, κατά πάντα όσα εγώ προστάζω εις σε σήμερον, συ και τα τέκνα σου, εξ όλης της καρδίας σου και εξ όλης της ψυχής σου,
2 Y te convirtieres á Jehová tu Dios, y obedecieres á su voz conforme á todo lo que yo te mando hoy, tú y tus hijos, con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma,
2 and return to Yahweh your God and obey his voice according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul,
3 τότε Κύριος ο Θεός σου θέλει σε επαναφέρει εκ της αιχμαλωσίας, και θέλει σε σπλαγχνισθή, και πάλιν θέλει σε συνάξει εκ πάντων των εθνών, όπου σε διεσκόρπισε Κύριος ο Θεός σου·
3 Jehová también volverá tus cautivos, y tendrá misericordia de ti, y tornará á recogerte de todos los pueblos á los cuales te hubiere esparcido Jehová tu Dios.
3 that then Yahweh your God will release you from captivity, have compassion on you, and will return and gather you from all the peoples where Yahweh your God has scattered you.
4 και εις τα έσχατα του ουρανού αν ήναι η διασπορά σου, εκείθεν θέλει σε συνάξει Κύριος ο Θεός σου και εκείθεν θέλει σε λάβει,
4 Si hubieres sido arrojado hasta el cabo de los cielos, de allí te recogerá Jehová tu Dios, y de allá te tomará:
4 If your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of the heavens, from there Yahweh your God will gather you, and from there he will bring you back.
5 και θέλει σε εισαγάγει Κύριος ο Θεός σου εις την γην, την οποίαν εκληρονόμησαν οι πατέρες σου, και θέλεις κληρονομήσει αυτήν· και θέλει σε αγαθοποιήσει και σε πολλαπλασιάσει υπέρ τους πατέρας σου.
5 Y volverte ha Jehová tu Dios á la tierra que heredaron tus padres, y la poseerás; y te hará bien, y te multiplicará más que á tus padres.
5 Yahweh your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you will possess it. He will do you good, and increase your numbers more than your fathers.
6 Και θέλει περιτέμει Κύριος ο Θεός σου την καρδίαν σου και την καρδίαν του σπέρματός σου, διά να αγαπάς Κύριον τον Θεόν σου εξ όλης της καρδίας σου και εξ όλης της ψυχής σου, διά να ζης.
6 Y circuncidará Jehová tu Dios tu corazón, y el corazón de tu simiente, para que ames á Jehová tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma, á fin de que tú vivas.
6 Yahweh your God will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your offspring, to love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
7 Και θέλει επιφέρει Κύριος ο Θεός σου πάσας τας κατάρας ταύτας επί τους εχθρούς σου και επί τους μισούντάς σε, οίτινες σε κατεδίωξαν.
7 Y pondrá Jehová tu Dios todas estas maldiciones sobre tus enemigos, y sobre tus aborrecedores que te persiguieron.
7 Yahweh your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.
8 Και συ θέλεις επιστραφή και υπακούσει εις την φωνήν του Κυρίου, και θέλεις εκτελεί πάσας τας εντολάς αυτού, τας οποίας εγώ προστάζω εις σε σήμερον.
8 Y tú volverás, y oirás la voz de Jehová, y pondrás por obra todos sus mandamientos, que yo te intimo hoy.
8 You shall return and obey Yahweh’s voice, and do all his commandments which I command you today.
9 Και θέλει σε πληθύνει Κύριος ο Θεός σου εις πάντα τα έργα των χειρών σου, εις τον καρπόν της κοιλίας σου και εις τον καρπόν των κτηνών σου και εις τα γεννήματα της γης σου, εις αγαθόν· διότι ο Κύριος θέλει ευφρανθή πάλιν επί σε εις αγαθόν, καθώς ευφράνθη επί τους πατέρας σου,
9 Y hacerte ha Jehová tu Dios abundar en toda obra de tus manos, en el fruto de tu vientre, en el fruto de tu bestia, y en el fruto de tu tierra, para bien: porque Jehová volverá á gozarse sobre ti para bien, de la manera que se gozó sobre tus padres;
9 Yahweh your God will make you prosperous in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, for good; for Yahweh will again rejoice over you for good, as he rejoiced over your fathers,
10 εάν υπακούσης εις την φωνήν Κυρίου του Θεού σου, ώστε να φυλάττης τας εντολάς αυτού και τα διατάγματα αυτού, τα γεγραμμένα εν τω βιβλίω του νόμου τούτου· εάν επιστραφής προς Κύριον τον Θεόν σου εξ όλης της καρδίας σου και εξ όλης της ψυχής σου.
10 Cuando oyeres la voz de Jehová tu Dios, para guardar sus mandamientos y sus estatutos escritos en este libro de la ley; cuando te convirtieres á Jehová tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma.
10 if you will obey Yahweh your God’s voice, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
11 Επειδή η εντολή αύτη, την οποίαν εγώ προστάζω εις σε σήμερον, δεν είναι πολλά βαρεία διά σε, ουδέ μακράν.
11 Porque este mandamiento que yo te intimo hoy, no te es encubierto, ni está lejos:
11 For this commandment which I command you today is not too hard for you or too distant.
12 Δεν είναι εν τω ουρανώ, ώστε να είπης, Τις θέλει αναβή δι' ημάς εις τον ουρανόν και φέρει αυτήν προς ημάς, διά να ακούσωμεν αυτήν και να εκτελέσωμεν αυτήν;
12 No está en el cielo, para que digas: ¿Quién subirá por nosotros al cielo, y nos lo traerá y nos lo representará, para que lo cumplamos?
12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, “Who will go up for us to heaven, bring it to us, and proclaim it to us, that we may do it?”
13 ουδέ πέραν της θαλάσσης είναι, ώστε να είπης, Τις θέλει διαπεράσει την θάλασσαν δι' ημάς και φέρει αυτήν προς ημάς, διά να ακούσωμεν αυτήν και να εκτελέσωμεν αυτήν;
13 Ni está de la otra parte de la mar, para que digas: ¿Quién pasará por nosotros la mar, para que nos lo traiga y nos lo represente, á fin de que lo cumplamos?
13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who will go over the sea for us, bring it to us, and proclaim it to us, that we may do it?”
14 Αλλά πολύ πλησίον σου είναι ο λόγος, εν τω στόματί σου και εν τη καρδία σου, διά να εκτελής αυτόν.
14 Porque muy cerca de ti está la palabra, en tu boca y en tu corazón, para que la cumplas.
14 But the word is very near to you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.
15 Ιδού, εγώ έθεσα ενώπιόν σου σήμερον την ζωήν και το αγαθόν, και τον θάνατον και το κακόν·
15 Mira, yo he puesto delante de ti hoy la vida y el bien, la muerte y el mal:
15 Behold, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and evil.
16 καθότι εγώ προστάζω εις σε σήμερον να αγαπάς Κύριον τον Θεόν σου, να περιπατής εις τας οδούς αυτού και να φυλάττης τας εντολάς αυτού και τα διατάγματα αυτού και τας κρίσεις αυτού, διά να ζης και να πληθύνησαι και διά να σε ευλογήση Κύριος ο Θεός σου εν τη γη, εις την οποίαν εισέρχεσαι διά να κληρονομήσης αυτήν.
16 Porque yo te mando hoy que ames á Jehová tu Dios, que andes en sus caminos, y guardes sus mandamientos y sus estatutos y sus derechos, para que vivas y seas multiplicado, y Jehová tu Dios te bendiga en la tierra á la cual entras para poseerla.
16 For I command you today to love Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways and to keep his commandments, his statutes, and his ordinances, that you may live and multiply, and that Yahweh your God may bless you in the land where you go in to possess it.
17 Εάν όμως παρεκτραπή η καρδία σου και δεν υπακούσης, αλλά αποπλανηθής και προσκυνήσης άλλους θεούς και λατρεύσης αυτούς,
17 Mas si tu corazón se apartare, y no oyeres, y fueres incitado, y te inclinares á dioses ajenos, y los sirvieres;
17 But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away and worship other gods, and serve them,
18 εγώ αναγγέλλω προς εσάς σήμερον ότι εξάπαντος θέλετε αφανισθή· δεν θέλετε μακροημερεύσει επί της γης, προς την οποίαν διαβαίνεις τον Ιορδάνην, διά να εισέλθητε εκεί να κατακληρονομήσητε αυτήν.
18 Protéstoos hoy que de cierto pereceréis: no tendréis largos días sobre la tierra, para ir á la cual pasas el Jordán para poseerla.
18 I declare to you today that you will surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you pass over the Jordan to go in to possess it.
19 Διαμαρτύρομαι προς εσάς σήμερον τον ουρανόν και την γην, ότι έθεσα ενώπιόν σας την ζωήν και τον θάνατον, την ευλογίαν και την κατάραν· διά τούτο εκλέξατε την ζωήν, διά να ζήτε συ και το σπέρμα σου·
19 A los cielos y la tierra llamo por testigos hoy contra vosotros, que os he puesto delante la vida y la muerte, la bendición y la maldición: escoge pues la vida, porque vivas tú y tu simiente:
19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life, that you may live, you and your descendants,
20 διά να αγαπάς Κύριον τον Θεόν σου, διά να υπακούης εις την φωνήν αυτού, και διά να ήσαι προσηλωμένος εις αυτόν· διότι τούτο είναι η ζωή σου και η μακρότης των ημερών σου· διά να κατοικής επί της γης, την οποίαν ώμοσεν ο Κύριος προς τους πατέρας σου, προς τον Αβραάμ, προς τον Ισαάκ και προς τον Ιακώβ, να δώση εις αυτούς.
20 Que ames á Jehová tu Dios, que oigas su voz, y te allegues á él; porque él es tu vida, y la longitud de tus días; á fin de que habites sobre la tierra que juró Jehová á tus padres Abraham, Isaac, y Jacob, que les había de dar.
20 to love Yahweh your God, to obey his voice, and to cling to him; for he is your life, and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Cómo se eligieron
«Comentario» es el comienzo de una homilía o exposición sobre este capítulo (homilías de san Juan Crisóstomo; tratados, sermones y comentarios a los Salmos de san Agustín). «Cita» es una frase en la que las notas de la propia edición identifican la cita de un versículo de este capítulo; solo se conserva si el texto coincide con el versículo. Solo se usan obras de autoría segura. Los Salmos siguen la numeración hebrea (Agustín usa la de los Setenta: su Salmo 50 es aquí el 51).
