1 וַיַּ֖עַן יְהוָ֥ה אֶת־אִיּ֗וֹב וַיֹּאמַֽר׃

1 ENTONCES respondió Jehová á Job desde la oscuridad, y dijo:

1 Moreover Yahweh answered Job,

2 הֲ֭רֹב עִם־שַׁדַּ֣י יִסּ֑וֹר מוֹכִ֖יחַ אֱל֣וֹהַּ יַעֲנֶֽנָּה׃ פ

2 Cíñete ahora como varón tus lomos; yo te preguntaré, y explícame.

2 “Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.”

3 וַיַּ֖עַן אִיּ֥וֹב אֶת־יְהוָ֗ה וַיֹּאמַֽר׃

3 ¿Invalidarás tú también mi juicio? ¿me condenarás á mí, para justificarte á ti?

3 Then Job answered Yahweh,

4 הֵ֣ן קַ֭לֹּתִי מָ֣ה אֲשִׁיבֶ֑ךָּ יָ֝דִ֗י שַׂ֣מְתִּי לְמוֹ־פִֽי׃

4 ¿Tienes tú brazo como Dios? ¿y tronarás tú con voz como él?

4 “Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.

5 אַחַ֣ת דִּ֭בַּרְתִּי וְלֹ֣א אֶֽעֱנֶ֑ה וּ֝שְׁתַּ֗יִם וְלֹ֣א אוֹסִֽיף׃ פ

5 Atavíate ahora de majestad y de alteza: y vístete de honra y de hermosura.

5 I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”

6 וַיַּֽעַן־יְהוָ֣ה אֶת־אִ֭יּוֹב מנ סערה וַיֹּאמַֽר׃

6 Esparce furores de tu ira: y mira á todo soberbio, y abátelo.

6 Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind:

7 אֱזָר־נָ֣א כְגֶ֣בֶר חֲלָצֶ֑יךָ אֶ֝שְׁאָלְךָ֗ וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃

7 Mira á todo soberbio, y humíllalo, y quebranta á los impíos en su asiento.

7 “Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.

8 הַ֭אַף תָּפֵ֣ר מִשְׁפָּטִ֑י תַּ֝רְשִׁיעֵ֗נִי לְמַ֣עַן תִּצְדָּֽק׃

8 Encúbrelos á todos en el polvo, venda sus rostros en la oscuridad;

8 Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?

9 וְאִם־זְר֖וֹעַ כָּאֵ֥ל ׀ לָ֑ךְ וּ֝בְק֗וֹל כָּמֹ֥הוּ תַרְעֵֽם׃

9 Y yo también te confesaré que podrá salvarte tu diestra.

9 Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?

10 עֲדֵ֥ה נָ֣א גָֽא֣וֹן וָגֹ֑בַהּ וְה֖וֹד וְהָדָ֣ר תִּלְבָּֽשׁ׃

10 He aquí ahora behemoth, al cual yo hice contigo; hierba come como buey.

10 “Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.

11 הָ֭פֵץ עֶבְר֣וֹת אַפֶּ֑ךָ וּרְאֵ֥ה כָל־גֵּ֝אֶ֗ה וְהַשְׁפִּילֵֽהוּ׃

11 He aquí ahora que su fuerza está en sus lomos, y su fortaleza en el ombligo de su vientre.

11 Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.

12 רְאֵ֣ה כָל־גֵּ֭אֶה הַכְנִיעֵ֑הוּ וַהֲדֹ֖ךְ רְשָׁעִ֣ים תַּחְתָּֽם׃

12 Su cola mueve como un cedro, y los nervios de sus genitales son entretejidos.

12 Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place.

13 טָמְנֵ֣ם בֶּעָפָ֣ר יָ֑חַד פְּ֝נֵיהֶ֗ם חֲבֹ֣שׁ בַּטָּמֽוּן׃

13 Sus huesos son fuertes [como] bronce, y sus miembros como barras de hierro.

13 Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place.

14 וְגַם־אֲנִ֥י אוֹדֶ֑ךָּ כִּֽי־תוֹשִׁ֖עַ לְךָ֣ יְמִינֶֽךָ׃

14 El es la cabeza de los caminos de Dios: el que lo hizo, puede hacer que su cuchillo á él se acerque.

14 Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.

15 הִנֵּה־נָ֣א בְ֭הֵמוֹת אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂ֣יתִי עִמָּ֑ךְ חָ֝צִ֗יר כַּבָּקָ֥ר יֹאכֵֽל׃

15 Ciertamente los montes producen hierba para él: y toda bestia del campo retoza allá.

15 “See now behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.

16 הִנֵּה־נָ֣א כֹח֣וֹ בְמָתְנָ֑יו וְ֝אֹנ֗וֹ בִּשְׁרִירֵ֥י בִטְנֽוֹ׃

16 Echaráse debajo de las sombras, en lo oculto de las cañas, y de los lugares húmedos.

16 Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly.

17 יַחְפֹּ֣ץ זְנָב֣וֹ כְמוֹ־אָ֑רֶז גִּידֵ֖י פחדו יְשֹׂרָֽגוּ׃

17 Los árboles sombríos lo cubren con su sombra; los sauces del arroyo lo cercan.

17 He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together.

18 עֲ֭צָמָיו אֲפִיקֵ֣י נְחוּשָׁ֑ה גְּ֝רָמָ֗יו כִּמְטִ֥יל בַּרְזֶֽל׃

18 He aquí que él tomará el río sin inmutarse: y confíase que el Jordán pasará por su boca.

18 His bones are like tubes of bronze. His limbs are like bars of iron.

19 ה֭וּא רֵאשִׁ֣ית דַּרְכֵי־אֵ֑ל הָ֝עֹשׂוֹ יַגֵּ֥שׁ חַרְבּֽוֹ׃

19 ¿Tomarálo alguno por sus ojos en armadijos, y horadará su nariz?

19 He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword.

20 כִּֽי־ב֭וּל הָרִ֣ים יִשְׂאוּ־ל֑וֹ וְֽכָל־חַיַּ֥ת הַ֝שָּׂדֶ֗ה יְשַֽׂחֲקוּ־שָֽׁם ׃

20 Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play.

21 תַּֽחַת־צֶאֱלִ֥ים יִשְׁכָּ֑ב בְּסֵ֖תֶר קָנֶ֣ה וּבִצָּֽה׃

21 He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the marsh.

22 יְסֻכֻּ֣הוּ צֶאֱלִ֣ים צִֽלֲל֑וֹ יְ֝סֻבּ֗וּהוּ עַרְבֵי־נָֽחַל׃

22 The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him.

23 הֵ֤ן יַעֲשֹׁ֣ק נָ֭הָר לֹ֣א יַחְפּ֑וֹז יִבְטַ֓ח ׀ כִּֽי־יָגִ֖יחַ יַרְדֵּ֣ן אֶל־פִּֽיהוּ׃

23 Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn’t tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.
