Psalm 113 (114–115)
1 Alleluia. At the going forth of Israel from Egypt, of the house of Jacob from a barbarous people, 2 Judea became his sanctuary, [and] Israel his dominion. 3 The sea saw and fled: Jordan was turned back. 4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like lambs. 5 What [ailed] thee, O sea, that thou fleddest? and thou Jordan, that thou wast turned back? 6 [Ye] mountains, that ye skipped like rams, and [ye] hills, like lambs? 7 The earth trembled at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; 8 who turned the rock into pools of water, and the flint into fountains of water. 9 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to thy name give glory, because of thy mercy and thy truth; 10 lest at any time the nations should say, Where is their God? 11 But our God has done in heaven and on earth, whatsoever he has pleased. 12 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the works of men's hands. 13 They have a mouth, but they cannot speak; they have eyes, but they cannot see: 14 they have ears, but they cannot hear; they have noses, but they cannot smell; 15 they have hands, but they cannot handle; they have feet, but they cannot walk: they cannot speak through their throat. 16 Let those that make them become like to them, and all who trust in them. 17 The house of Israel trusts in the Lord: he is their helper and defender. 18 The house of Aaron trusts in the Lord: he is their helper and defender. 19 They that fear the Lord trust in the Lord: he is their helper and defender. 20 The Lord has remembered us, and blessed us: he has blessed the house of Israel, he has blessed the house of Aaron. 21 He has blessed them that fear the Lord, both small and great. 22 The Lord add [blessings] to you and to your children. 23 Blessed are ye of the Lord, who made the heaven and the earth. 24 The heaven of heavens [belongs] to the Lord: but he has given the earth to the sons of men. 25 The dead shall not praise thee, O Lord, nor any that go down to Hades. 26 But we, the living, will bless the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.
Psalm 114 (116)
1 Alleluia. I am well pleased, because the Lord will hearken to the voice of my supplication. 2 Because he has inclined his ear to me, therefore will I call upon him while I live. 3 The pangs of death compassed me; the dangers of hell found me: I found affliction and sorrow. 4 Then I called on the name of the Lord: O Lord, deliver my soul. 5 The Lord is merciful and righteous; yea, our God has pity. 6 The Lord preserves the simple: I was brought low, and he delivered me. 7 Return to thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with thee. 8 For he has delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. 9 I shall be well-pleasing before the Lord in the land of the living.
Psalm 115 (116)
1 Alleluia. I believed, wherefore I have spoken: but I was greatly afflicted. 2 And I said in mine amazement, Every man is a liar. 3 What shall I render to the Lord for all the things wherein he has rewarded me? 4 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord. 4a I will pay my vows to the Lord, in the presence of all his people. 6 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. 7 O Lord, I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast burst my bonds asunder. 8 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of praise, and will call upon the name of the Lord. 9 I will pay my vows unto the Lord, in the presence of all his people, 10 in the courts of the Lord's house, in the midst of thee, Jerusalem.
Psalm 116 (117)
1 Alleluia. Praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye peoples. 2 For his mercy has been abundant toward us: and the truth of the Lord endures for ever.

Romans 14
1 Now accept one who is weak in faith, but not for disputes over opinions. 2 One man has faith to eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. 3 Don’t let him who eats despise him who doesn’t eat. Don’t let him who doesn’t eat judge him who eats, for God has accepted him. 4 Who are you who judge another’s servant? To his own lord he stands or falls. Yes, he will be made to stand, for God has power to make him stand. 5 One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks. He who doesn’t eat, to the Lord he doesn’t eat, and gives God thanks. 7 For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself. 8 For if we live, we live to the Lord. Or if we die, we die to the Lord. If therefore we live or die, we are the Lord’s. 9 For to this end Christ died, rose, and lived again, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living. 10 But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, “‘As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘to me every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess to God.’” 12 So then each one of us will give account of himself to God. 13 Therefore let’s not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother’s way, or an occasion for falling. 14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean of itself; except that to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15 Yet if because of food your brother is grieved, you walk no longer in love. Don’t destroy with your food him for whom Christ died. 16 Then don’t let your good be slandered, 17 for God’s Kingdom is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. 19 So then, let’s follow after things which make for peace, and things by which we may build one another up. 20 Don’t overthrow God’s work for food’s sake. All things indeed are clean, however it is evil for that man who creates a stumbling block by eating. 21 It is good to not eat meat, drink wine, nor do anything by which your brother stumbles, is offended, or is made weak. 22 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who doesn’t judge himself in that which he approves. 23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because it isn’t of faith; and whatever is not of faith is sin. 24 Now to him who is able to establish you according to my Good News and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret through long ages, 25 but now is revealed, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, is made known for obedience of faith to all the nations; 26 to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever! Amen.
