1 Tada iziđe Mojsije iz polja moavskog na goru Nava, na vrh Fazge, koja je prema Jerihonu; i pokaza mu Gospod svu zemlju od Galada do Dana;
2 i svu zemlju Neftalimovu; i zemlju Jefremovu i Manasijinu, i svu zemlju Judinu do mora zapadnog,
2 Y á todo Nephtalí, y la tierra de Ephraim y de Manasés, toda la tierra de Judá hasta la mar postrera;
3 i južnu stranu, i ravnicu, dolinu pod Jerihonom mestom gde ima mnogo palmovih drveta do Sigora.
5 I umre onde Mojsije, sluga Gospodnji u zemlji moavskoj po reči Gospodnjoj.
7 I beše Mojsiju sto i dvadeset godina kad umre, i ne behu potamnele oči njegove niti ga snaga izdala.
8 I plakaše sinovi Izrailjevi za Mojsijem u polju moavskom trideset dana; i prođoše plačni dani žalosti za Mojsijem.
10 Y nunca más se levantó profeta en Israel como Moisés, á quien haya conocido Jehová cara á cara;
11 En todas las señales y prodigios que le envió Jehová á hacer en tierra de Egipto á Faraón, y á todos sus siervos, y á toda su tierra;
12 i u svim delima krepke ruke i u svim strahotama velikim, koje učini Mojsije pred svim Izrailjem.

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).

  1. Quotes verse 34:9 Cyril of Jerusalem, Catechetical Lectures (Lecture XVI)

    For it is written, And Jesus the son of Nun was filled with a spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him.
