1 I reče Gospod Noju: Uđi u kovčeg ti i sav dom tvoj; jer te nađoh pravedna pred sobom ovog veka.
1 Y JEHOVÁ dijo á Noé: Entra tú y toda tu casa en el arca; porque á ti he visto justo delante de mí en esta generación.
1 Yahweh said to Noah, “Come with all of your household into the ship, for I have seen your righteousness before me in this generation.
2 Uzmi sa sobom od svih životinja čistih po sedmoro, sve mužjaka i ženku njegovu; a od životinja nečistih po dvoje, mužjaka i ženku njegovu,
2 De todo animal limpio te tomarás de siete en siete, macho y su hembra; mas de los animales que no son limpios, dos, macho y su hembra.
2 You shall take seven pairs of every clean animal with you, the male and his female. Of the animals that are not clean, take two, the male and his female.
3 takođe i od ptica nebeskih po sedam, mužjaka i ženku njegovu, da im se sačuva seme na zemlji.
3 También de las aves de los cielos de siete en siete, macho y hembra; para guardar en vida la casta sobre la faz de toda la tierra.
3 Also of the birds of the sky, seven and seven, male and female, to keep seed alive on the surface of all the earth.
4 Jer ću do sedam dana pustiti dažd na zemlju za četrdeset dana i četrdeset noći, i istrebiću sa zemlje svako telo živo, koje sam stvorio.
4 Porque [pasados] aún siete días, yo haré llover sobre la tierra cuarenta días y cuarenta noches; y raeré toda sustancia que hice de sobre la faz de la tierra.
4 In seven days, I will cause it to rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights. I will destroy every living thing that I have made from the surface of the ground.”
5 I Noje učini sve što mu zapovedi Gospod.
5 E hizo Noé conforme á todo lo que le mandó Jehová.
5 Noah did everything that Yahweh commanded him.
6 A beše Noju šest stotina godina kad dođe potop na zemlju.
6 Y siendo Noé de seiscientos años, el diluvio de las aguas fué sobre la tierra.
6 Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came on the earth.
7 I uđe Noje u kovčeg i sinovi njegovi i žena njegova i žene sinova njegovih s njim radi potopa.
7 Y vino Noé, y sus hijos, y su mujer, y las mujeres de sus hijos con él al arca, por las aguas del diluvio.
7 Noah went into the ship with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, because of the floodwaters.
8 Od životinja čistih i od životinja nečistih i od ptica i od svega što se miče po zemlji,
8 De los animales limpios, y de los animales que no eran limpios, y de las aves, y de todo lo que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra,
8 Clean animals, unclean animals, birds, and everything that creeps on the ground
9 uđe k Noju u kovčeg po dvoje, muško i žensko, kao što beše Bog zapovedio Noju.
9 De dos en dos entraron á Noé en el arca: macho y hembra, como mandó Dios á Noé.
9 went by pairs to Noah into the ship, male and female, as God commanded Noah.
10 A u sedmi dan dođe potop na zemlju.
10 Y sucedió que al séptimo día las aguas del diluvio fueron sobre la tierra.
10 After the seven days, the floodwaters came on the earth.
11 Kad je bilo Noju šest stotina godina, te godine drugog meseca, sedamnaesti dan toga meseca, taj dan razvališe se svi izvori velikog bezdana, i otvoriše se ustave nebeske;
11 El año seiscientos de la vida de Noé, en el mes segundo, á diecisiete días del mes, aquel día fueron rotas todas las fuentes del grande abismo, y las cataratas de los cielos fueron abiertas;
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the sky’s windows opened.
12 i udari dažd na zemlju za četrdeset dana i četrdeset noći.
12 Y hubo lluvia sobre la tierra cuarenta días y cuarenta noches.
12 It rained on the earth forty days and forty nights.
13 Taj dan uđe u kovčeg Noje i Sim i Ham i Jafet, sinovi Nojevi, i žena Nojeva i tri žene sinova njegovih s njima;
13 En este mismo día entró Noé, y Sem y Châm y Japhet, hijos de Noé, la mujer de Noé, y las tres mujeres de sus hijos con él en el arca;
13 In the same day Noah, and Shem, Ham, and Japheth—the sons of Noah—and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered into the ship—
14 oni, i svakojake zveri po vrstama svojim, i svakojaka stoka po vrstama svojim, i šta se god miče po zemlji po vrstama svojim, i ptice sve po vrstama svojim, i šta god leti i ima krila,
14 Ellos, y todos los animales [silvestres] según sus especies, y todos los animales mansos según sus especies, y todo reptil que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra según su especie, y toda ave según su especie, todo pájaro, toda especie de volátil.
14 they, and every animal after its kind, all the livestock after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort.
15 dođe k Noju u kovčeg po dvoje od svakog tela, u kome ima živa duša,
15 Y vinieron á Noé al arca, de dos en dos de toda carne en que había espíritu de vida.
15 Pairs from all flesh with the breath of life in them went into the ship to Noah.
16 muško i žensko od svakog tela uđoše, kao što beše Bog zapovedio Noju; pa Gospod zatvori za njim.
16 Y los que vinieron, macho y hembra de toda carne vinieron, como le había mandado Dios: y Jehová le cerró [la puerta].
16 Those who went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God commanded him; then Yahweh shut him in.
17 I bi potop na zemlji za četrdeset dana; i voda dođe i uze kovčeg, i podiže ga od zemlje.
17 Y fué el diluvio cuarenta días sobre la tierra; y las aguas crecieron, y alzaron el arca, y se elevó sobre la tierra.
17 The flood was forty days on the earth. The waters increased, and lifted up the ship, and it was lifted up above the earth.
18 I navali voda, i usta jako po zemlji, i kovčeg stade ploviti vodom.
18 Y prevalecieron las aguas, y crecieron en gran manera sobre la tierra; y andaba el arca sobre la faz de las aguas.
18 The waters rose, and increased greatly on the earth; and the ship floated on the surface of the waters.
19 I navaljivaše voda sve većma po zemlji, i pokri sva najviša brda što su pod celim nebom.
19 Y las aguas prevalecieron mucho en extremo sobre la tierra; y todos los montes altos que había debajo de todos los cielos, fueron cubiertos.
19 The waters rose very high on the earth. All the high mountains that were under the whole sky were covered.
20 Petnaest lakata dođe voda iznad brda, pošto ih pokri.
20 Quince codos en alto prevalecieron las aguas; y fueron cubiertos los montes.
20 The waters rose fifteen cubits higher, and the mountains were covered.
21 Tada izgibe svako telo što se micaše na zemlji, ptice i stoka, i zveri i sve što gamiže po zemlji, i svi ljudi.
21 Y murió toda carne que se mueve sobre la tierra, así de aves como de ganados, y de bestias, y de todo reptil que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra, y todo hombre:
21 All flesh died that moved on the earth, including birds, livestock, animals, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man.
22 Sve što imaše dušu živu u nosu, sve što beše na suvom, pomre.
22 Todo lo que tenía aliento de espíritu de vida en sus narices, de todo lo que había en la tierra, murió.
22 All on the dry land, in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died.
23 I istrebi se svako telo živo na zemlji, i ljudi i stoka i šta god gamiže i ptice nebeske, sve, velim, istrebi se sa zemlje; samo Noje osta i šta s njim beše u kovčegu.
23 Así fué destruída toda sustancia que vivía sobre la faz de la tierra, desde el hombre hasta la bestia, y los reptiles, y las aves del cielo; y fueron raídos de la tierra; y quedó solamente Noé, y lo que con él estaba en el arca.
23 Every living thing was destroyed that was on the surface of the ground, including man, livestock, creeping things, and birds of the sky. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ship.
24 I stajaše voda povrh zemlje sto pedeset dana.
24 Y prevalecieron las aguas sobre la tierra ciento y cincuenta días.
24 The waters flooded the earth one hundred fifty days.

How these were chosen
“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).
But why in the same place is it also written, "The waters of the flood were upon the earth in the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the twenty-seventh day of the month," if that very brief year (of which it took ten to make one of ours) consisted of thirty-six days?

Hence in the Psalms, fifteen "songs of degrees." Hence the waters of the deluge overtopped the highest mountains by fifteen cubits: and many other instances of the same nature.
