BBE Biblia en inglés básico WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 And he made a story for them, the point of which was that men were to go on making prayer and not get tired; 1 Y PROPÚSOLES también una parábola sobre que es necesario orar siempre, y no desmayar,
1 He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray and not give up,
2 Saying, There was a judge in a certain town, who had no fear of God or respect for man: 2 Diciendo: Había un juez en una ciudad, el cual ni temía á Dios, ni respetaba á hombre.
2 saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God and didn’t respect man.
3 And there was a widow in that town, and she kept on coming to him and saying, Give me my right against the man who has done me wrong.
3 A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’
4 And for a time he would not: but later, he said to himself, Though I have no fear of God or respect for man, 4 Pero él no quiso por algún tiempo; mas después de esto dijo dentro de sí: Aunque ni temo á Dios, ni tengo respeto á hombre,
4 He wouldn’t for a while; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man,
5 Because this widow is a trouble to me, I will give her her right; for if not, I will be completely tired out by her frequent coming.
5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”
6 And the Lord said, Give ear to the words of the evil judge.
6 The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7 And will not God do right in the cause of his saints, whose cries come day and night to his ears, though he is long in doing it? 7 ¿Y Dios no hará justicia á sus escogidos, que claman á él día y noche, aunque sea longánime acerca de ellos?
7 Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8 I say to you that he will quickly do right in their cause. But when the Son of man comes, will there be any faith on earth?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
9 And he made this story for some people who were certain that they were good, and had a low opinion of others: 9 Y dijo también á unos que confiaban de sí como justos, y menospreciaban á los otros, esta parábola:
9 He also spoke this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others:
10 Two men went up to the Temple for prayer; one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-farmer.
10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
11 The Pharisee, taking up his position, said to himself these words: God, I give you praise because I am not like other men, who take more than their right, who are evil-doers, who are untrue to their wives, or even like this tax-farmer. 11 El Fariseo, en pie, oraba consigo de esta manera: Dios, te doy gracias, que no soy como los otros hombres, ladrones, injustos, adúlteros, ni aun como este publicano;
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed by himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of men: extortionists, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 Twice in the week I go without food; I give a tenth of all I have.
12 I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’
13 The tax-farmer, on the other hand, keeping far away, and not lifting up even his eyes to heaven, made signs of grief and said, God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
13 But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
14 I say to you, This man went back to his house with God's approval, and not the other: for everyone who makes himself high will be made low and whoever makes himself low will be made high.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
15 And they took their children to him, so that he might put his hands on them: but when the disciples saw it, they said sharp words to them 15 Y traían á él los niños para que los tocase; lo cual viendo los discípulos les reñían.
15 They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16 But Jesus sent for them, saying, Let the children come to me, and do not keep them away, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
16 Jesus summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.
17 Truly I say to you, Whoever does not put himself under the kingdom of God like a little child, will not come into it at all.
17 Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
18 And a certain ruler put a question to him, saying, Good Master, what have I to do so that I may have eternal life?
18 A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
19 And Jesus said to him, Why do you say that I am good? No one is good, but only God. 19 Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? ninguno hay bueno sino sólo Dios.
19 Jesus asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one: God.
20 You have knowledge of what the law says: Do not be untrue to your wife, Do not put anyone to death, Do not take what is not yours, Do not give false witness, Give honour to your father and mother. 20 Los mandamientos sabes: No matarás: No adulterarás: No hurtarás: No dirás falso testimonio: Honra á tu padre y á tu madre.
20 You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’”
21 And he said, All these things I have done from the time when I was a boy.
21 He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.”
22 And Jesus, hearing it, said to him, One thing you still have need of; get money for your goods, and give it away to the poor, and you will have wealth in heaven; and come after me. 22 Y Jesús, oído esto, le dijo: Aun te falta una cosa: vende todo lo que tienes, y da á los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme.
22 When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”
23 But at these words he became very sad, for he had great wealth.
23 But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.
24 And Jesus, looking at him, said, How hard it is for those who have wealth to get into the kingdom of God! 24 Y viendo Jesús que se había entristecido mucho, dijo: ¡Cuán dificultosamente entrarán en el reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas!
24 Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!
25 It is simpler for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a man who has much money to come into the kingdom of God. 25 Porque más fácil cosa es entrar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que un rico entrar en el reino de Dios.
25 For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
26 And those who were present said, Then who may have salvation?
26 Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”
27 But he said, Things which are not possible with man are possible with God. 27 Y él [les] dijo: Lo que es imposible para con los hombres, posible es para Dios.
27 But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
28 And Peter said, See, we have given up what is ours to come after you. 28 Entonces Pedro dijo: He aquí, nosotros hemos dejado las posesiones nuestras, y te hemos seguido.
28 Peter said, “Look, we have left everything and followed you.”
29 And he said to them, Truly I say to you, There is no man who has given up house or wife or brothers or father or mother or children, because of the kingdom of God, 29 Y él les dijo: De cierto os digo, que nadie hay que haya dejado casa, padres, ó hermanos, ó mujer, ó hijos, por el reino de Dios,
29 He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for God’s Kingdom’s sake,
30 Who will not get much more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.
30 who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.”
31 And he took with him the twelve and said to them, Now we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things which were said by the prophets will be done to the Son of man.
31 He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.
32 For he will be given up to the Gentiles, and will be made sport of and put to shame: 32 Porque será entregado á las gentes, y será escarnecido, é injuriado, y escupido.
32 For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.
33 And he will be given cruel blows and put to death, and on the third day he will come back to life.
33 They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.”
34 But they did not take in the sense of any of these words, and what he said was not clear to them, and their minds were not able to see it. 34 Pero ellos nada de estas cosas entendían, y esta palabra les era encubierta, y no entendían lo que se decía.
34 They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn’t understand the things that were said.
35 And it came about that when he got near Jericho, a certain blind man was seated by the side of the road, making requests for money from those who went by. 35 Y aconteció que acercándose él á Jericó, un ciego estaba sentado junto al camino mendigando;
35 As he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.
36 And hearing the sound of a great number of people going by, he said, What is this?
36 Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant.
37 And they said to him, Jesus of Nazareth is going by. 37 Y dijéronle que pasaba Jesús Nazareno.
37 They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
38 And he said in a loud voice, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me. 38 Entonces dió voces, diciendo: Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
38 He cried out, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
39 And those who were in front made protests and said to him, Be quiet: but he said all the more, O Son of David, have mercy on me. 39 Y los que iban delante, le reñían que callase; mas él clamaba mucho más: Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
39 Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 And Jesus, stopping, gave orders that he was to come to him, and when he came near, he said to him, 40 Jesús entonces parándose, mandó traerle á sí: y como él llegó, le preguntó,
40 Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,
41 What would you have me do for you? And he said, Lord, that I may be able to see again. 41 Diciendo: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? Y él dijo: Señor, que vea.
41 “What do you want me to do?” He said, “Lord, that I may see again.”
42 And Jesus said, See again: your faith has made you well. 42 Y Jesús le dijo: Ve, tu fe te ha hecho salvo.
42 Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.”
43 And straight away he was able to see, and he went after him, giving glory to God; and all the people when they saw it gave praise to God. 43 Y luego vió, y le seguía, glorificando á Dios: y todo el pueblo como lo vió, dió á Dios alabanza.
43 Immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
