1 David y los jefes de los servidores del santuario eligieron a algunos hijos de Asaf, Hemán y Jedutún para que profetizaran con arpas, liras y címbalos. Estos son los hombres designados para ese servicio:
1 Moreover, David and the captains of the army set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who were to prophesy with harps, with stringed instruments, and with cymbals. The number of those who did the work according to their service was:
2 De los hijos de Asaf fueron Zacur, José, Netanías y Asarela. Estaban bajo la dirección de Asaf, que profetizaba siguiendo las órdenes del rey.
2 of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah. The sons of Asaph were under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied at the order of the king.
3 Los hijos de Jedutún fueron Gedalías, Zeri, Jesaías, Simei, Hasabías y Matatías: seis en total. Su padre Jedutún los dirigía y profetizaba con el arpa para dar gracias y alabar al Señor.
3 Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising Yahweh with the harp.
4 Los hijos de Hemán fueron Buquías, Matanías, Uziel, Sebuel, Jeremot, Hananías, Hananí, Eliata, Gidalti, Romamti-ezer, Josbecasa, Maloti, Hotir y Mahaziot.
4 Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.
5 Todos ellos eran hijos de Hemán, vidente del rey que comunicaba las palabras de Dios. Para engrandecerlo, Dios le dio catorce hijos y tres hijas.
5 All these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
6 Bajo la dirección de su padre, todos servían con címbalos, arpas y liras en los cantos de la casa de Dios. Asaf, Jedutún y Hemán estaban bajo las órdenes del rey.
6 All these were under the hands of their father for song in Yahweh’s house, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and harps, for the service of God’s house: Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.
7 Ellos y sus parientes, instruidos y hábiles para cantar al Señor, sumaban doscientos ochenta y ocho.
7 The number of them, with their brothers who were instructed in singing to Yahweh, even all who were skillful, was two hundred eighty-eight.
8 Echaron suertes para asignar sus turnos, sin distinción entre mayores y menores, maestros y aprendices.
8 They cast lots for their offices, all alike, the small as well as the great, the teacher as well as the student.
9 El primer turno correspondió a José, de la familia de Asaf; el segundo, a Gedalías. Este, con sus hijos y parientes, formaba un grupo de doce.
9 Now the first lot came out for Asaph to Joseph; the second to Gedaliah, he and his brothers and sons were twelve;
10 El tercero correspondió a Zacur, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
10 the third to Zaccur, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
11 El cuarto, a Izri, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
11 the fourth to Izri, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
12 El quinto, a Netanías, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
12 the fifth to Nethaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
13 El sexto, a Buquías, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
13 the sixth to Bukkiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
14 El séptimo, a Jesarela, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
14 the seventh to Jesharelah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
15 El octavo, a Jesaías, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
15 the eighth to Jeshaiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
16 El noveno, a Matanías, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
16 the ninth to Mattaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
17 El décimo, a Simei, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
17 the tenth to Shimei, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
18 El undécimo, a Azarel, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
18 the eleventh to Azarel, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
19 El duodécimo, a Hasabías, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
19 the twelfth to Hashabiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
20 El decimotercero, a Subael, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
20 for the thirteenth, Shubael, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
21 El decimocuarto, a Matatías, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
21 for the fourteenth, Mattithiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
22 El decimoquinto, a Jeremot, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
22 for the fifteenth to Jeremoth, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
23 El decimosexto, a Hananías, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
23 for the sixteenth to Hananiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
24 El decimoséptimo, a Josbecasa, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
24 for the seventeenth to Joshbekashah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
25 El decimoctavo, a Hananí, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
25 for the eighteenth to Hanani, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
26 El decimonoveno, a Maloti, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
26 for the nineteenth to Mallothi, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
27 El vigésimo, a Eliata, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
27 for the twentieth to Eliathah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
28 El vigesimoprimero, a Hotir, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
28 for the twenty-first to Hothir, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
29 El vigesimosegundo, a Gidalti, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
29 for the twenty-second to Giddalti, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
30 El vigesimotercero, a Mahaziot, con sus hijos y parientes: doce.
30 for the twenty-third to Mahazioth, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
