1 Та́кѡ на́съ да непщꙋ́етъ человѣ́къ, ꙗ҆́кѡ слꙋ́гъ хрⷭ҇то́выхъ и҆ строи́телей та̑инъ бж҃їихъ: 2 а҆ є҆́же про́чее и҆́щетсѧ въ строи́телехъ, да вѣ́ренъ кто̀ ѡ҆брѧ́щетсѧ. 3 Мнѣ́ же не вели́ко є҆́сть, да ѿ ва́съ и҆стѧжꙋ́сѧ, и҆лѝ ѿ человѣ́ческагѡ днѐ: но ни са́мъ себѐ востѧзꙋ́ю. 4 Ничесѡ́же бо въ себѣ̀ свѣ́мъ, но ни ѡ҆ се́мъ ѡ҆правда́юсѧ: востѧзꙋ́ѧй же мѧ̀ гдⷭ҇ь є҆́сть. 5 Тѣ́мже пре́жде вре́мене ничто́же сꙋди́те, до́ндеже прїи́детъ гдⷭ҇ь, и҆́же во свѣ́тѣ приведе́тъ та̑йнаѧ тьмы̀ и҆ ѡ҆б̾ѧви́тъ совѣ́ты сердє́чныѧ, и҆ тогда̀ похвала̀ бꙋ́детъ комꙋ́ждо ѿ бг҃а. 6 Сїѧ̑ же, бра́тїе (моѧ̑), преѡбрази́хъ на себѐ и҆ а҆поллѡ́са ва́съ ра́ди, да ѿ на́ю наꙋчите́сѧ не па́че напи́санныхъ мꙋ́дрствовати, да не є҆ди́нъ по є҆ди́номꙋ гордите́сѧ на дрꙋга́го. 7 Кто́ бо тѧ̀ разсꙋжда́етъ; Что́ же и҆́маши, є҆гѡ́же нѣ́си прїѧ́лъ; А҆́ще же и҆ прїѧ́лъ є҆сѝ, что̀ хва́лишисѧ ꙗ҆́кѡ не прїе́мъ; 8 Сѐ, сы́ти є҆стѐ, сѐ, ѡ҆богати́стесѧ, без̾ на́съ воцари́стесѧ: и҆ ѽ, дабы̀ воцари́лисѧ є҆стѐ, да и҆ мы̀ бы́хомъ съ ва́ми ца́рствовали. 9 Мню́ бо, ꙗ҆́кѡ бг҃ъ ны̀ посла́нники послѣ́днїѧ ꙗ҆вѝ, ꙗ҆́кѡ насме́ртники: занѐ позо́ръ бы́хомъ мі́рꙋ и҆ а҆́гг҃лѡмъ и҆ человѣ́кѡмъ. 10 Мы̀ (ᲂу҆́бѡ) бꙋ́и хрⷭ҇та̀ ра́ди, вы́ же мꙋ́дри ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀: мы̀ не́мощни, вы́ же крѣ́пцы: вы̀ сла́вни, мы́ же безче́стни. 11 До нн҃ѣшнѧгѡ часа̀ и҆ а҆́лчемъ, и҆ жа́ждемъ, и҆ наготꙋ́емъ, и҆ стра́ждемъ, и҆ скита́емсѧ, 12 и҆ трꙋжда́емсѧ, дѣ́лающе свои́ми рꙋка́ми. Оу҆корѧ́еми, благословлѧ́емъ: гони́ми, терпи́мъ: 13 хꙋ́лими, ᲂу҆тѣша́емсѧ: ꙗ҆́коже ѡ҆тре́би мі́рꙋ бы́хомъ, всѣ̑мъ попра́нїе досе́лѣ. 14 Не срамлѧ́ѧ ва́съ сїѧ̑ пишꙋ̀, но ꙗ҆́коже ча̑да моѧ̑ возлю́блєннаѧ наказꙋ́ю. 15 А҆́ще бо (и҆) мнѡ́ги пѣ́стꙋны и҆́мате ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀, но не мнѡ́ги ѻ҆тцы̀: ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ́ бо і҆и҃сѣ бл҃говѣствова́нїемъ а҆́зъ вы̀ роди́хъ. 16 Молю́ же ва́съ: подо́бни мнѣ̀ быва́йте, ꙗ҆́коже а҆́зъ хрⷭ҇тꙋ̀. 17 Сегѡ̀ ра́ди посла́хъ къ ва́мъ тїмоѳе́а, и҆́же мѝ є҆́сть ча́до возлю́блено и҆ вѣ́рно ѡ҆ гдⷭ҇ѣ, и҆́же ва́мъ воспомѧ́нетъ пꙋти̑ моѧ̑, ꙗ҆̀же ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ, ꙗ҆́коже вездѣ̀ и҆ во всѧ́цѣй цр҃кви ᲂу҆чꙋ̀. 18 Ꙗ҆́кѡ не грѧдꙋ́щꙋ мѝ къ ва́мъ, разгордѣ́шасѧ нѣ́цыи: 19 прїидꙋ́ же ско́рѡ къ ва́мъ, а҆́ще гдⷭ҇ь восхо́щетъ, и҆ ᲂу҆разꙋмѣ́ю не сло́во разгордѣ́вшихсѧ, но си́лꙋ: 20 не въ словеси́ бо црⷭ҇тво бж҃їе, но въ си́лѣ. 21 Что̀ хо́щете; съ па́лицею ли прїидꙋ̀ къ ва́мъ, и҆лѝ съ любо́вїю и҆ дꙋ́хомъ кро́тости;

  1. Comentario 4:3 John Chrysostom, Homilies on First Corinthians (Homily XI)

    Together with all other ills, I know not how, there hath come upon man's nature the disease of restless prying and of unseasonable curiosity, which Christ Himself chastised, saying, (St. Matt. vii. 1.) "Judge not, that ye be not judged." A kind of thing, which hath no pleasure as all other sins have, but only punishment and vengeance.

  2. Cita 4:3 Augustine of Hippo, Confessions (Book III, Chapters V–VII)

    … not one thing in one place, and another in another; according to which Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and Moses, and David, and all those commended by the mouth of God were righteous, but were judged unrighteous by foolish men, judging out of man's judgment, and gauging by the petty standard of their own manners the manners of the whole …

  3. Cita 4:4 John Chrysostom, Homilies on the Gospel of Matthew (Homily VI)

    … is against our will; but nevertheless it doth not escape punishment, but of it too we have to give account:--both of what we know, and of what we do not know; "For I know nothing by myself," saith one, "yet am I not hereby justified:" --both for what we have done in ignorance, and what in knowledge; "For I bear …

  4. Cita 4:9 Cyril of Jerusalem, Catechetical Lectures (Lecture III)

    And the Martyrs confess, by being made a spectacle unto the world, and to Angels, and to men; and thou wilt soon confess:--but it is not yet the time for thee to hear of this.

  5. Cita 4:4 Augustine of Hippo, Confessions (Book X, Chapters V–VIII)

    7. For it is Thou, Lord, that judgest me; for although no "man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him," yet is there something of man which "the spirit of man which is in him" itself knoweth not.
