1 И҆ мимоиды́й ви́дѣ человѣ́ка слѣ́па ѿ рождества̀.
1 Y PASANDO [Jesús], vió un hombre ciego desde su nacimiento.
1 As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.
2 И҆ вопроси́ша є҆го̀ ᲂу҆чн҃цы̀ є҆гѡ̀, глаго́люще: равві̀, кто̀ согрѣшѝ, се́й ли, и҆лѝ роди́тєлѧ є҆гѡ̀, ꙗ҆́кѡ слѣ́пъ роди́сѧ;
2 Y preguntáronle sus discípulos, diciendo: Rabbí, ¿quién pecó, éste ó sus padres, para que naciese ciego?
2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 Ѿвѣща̀ і҆и҃съ: ни се́й согрѣшѝ, ни роди́тєлѧ є҆гѡ̀, но да ꙗ҆вѧ́тсѧ дѣла̀ бж҃їѧ на не́мъ:
3 Respondió Jesús: Ni éste pecó, ni sus padres: mas para que las obras de Dios se manifiesten en él.
3 Jesus answered, “This man didn’t sin, nor did his parents, but that the works of God might be revealed in him.
4 мнѣ̀ подоба́етъ дѣ́лати дѣла̀ посла́вшагѡ мѧ̀, до́ндеже де́нь є҆́сть: прїи́детъ но́щь, є҆гда̀ никто́же мо́жетъ дѣ́лати:
4 Conviéneme obrar las obras del que me envió, entre tanto que el día dura: la noche viene, cuando nadie puede obrar.
4 I must work the works of him who sent me while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.
5 є҆гда̀ въ мі́рѣ є҆́смь, свѣ́тъ є҆́смь мі́рꙋ.
5 Entre tanto que estuviere en el mundo, luz soy del mundo.
5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
6 Сїѧ̑ ре́къ, плю́нꙋ на зе́млю, и҆ сотворѝ бре́нїе ѿ плюнове́нїѧ, и҆ пома́за ѻ҆́чи бре́нїемъ слѣпо́мꙋ,
6 Esto dicho, escupió en tierra, é hizo lodo con la saliva, y untó con el lodo sobre los ojos del ciego,
6 When he had said this, he spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva, anointed the blind man’s eyes with the mud,
7 и҆ речѐ є҆мꙋ̀: и҆дѝ, ᲂу҆мы́йсѧ въ кꙋпѣ́ли сїлѡа́мстѣ, є҆́же сказа́етсѧ по́сланъ. И҆́де ᲂу҆̀бо и҆ ᲂу҆мы́сѧ, и҆ прїи́де ви́дѧ.
7 Y díjole: Ve, lávate en el estanque de Siloé (que significa, si [lo] interpretares, Enviado). Y fué entonces, y lavóse, y volvió viendo.
7 and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means “Sent”). So he went away, washed, and came back seeing.
8 Сосѣ́ди же и҆ и҆̀же бѧ́хꙋ ви́дѣли є҆го̀ пре́жде, ꙗ҆́кѡ слѣ́пъ бѣ̀, глаго́лахꙋ: не се́й ли є҆́сть сѣдѧ́й и҆ просѧ́й;
8 Entonces los vecinos, y los que antes le habían visto que era ciego, decían: ¿No es éste el que se sentaba y mendigaba?
8 Therefore the neighbors and those who saw that he was blind before said, “Isn’t this he who sat and begged?”
9 Ѻ҆́вїи глаго́лахꙋ, ꙗ҆́кѡ се́й є҆́сть: и҆ні́и же (глаго́лахꙋ), ꙗ҆́кѡ подо́бенъ є҆мꙋ̀ є҆́сть. Ѻ҆́нъ (же) глаго́лаше, ꙗ҆́кѡ а҆́зъ є҆́смь.
9 Unos decían: Este es; y otros: A él se parece. El decía: Yo soy.
9 Others were saying, “It is he.” Still others were saying, “He looks like him.” He said, “I am he.”
10 Глаго́лахꙋ же є҆мꙋ̀: ка́кѡ тѝ ѿверзо́стѣсѧ ѻ҆́чи;
10 Y dijéronle: ¿Cómo te fueron abiertos los ojos?
10 They therefore were asking him, “How were your eyes opened?”
11 Ѿвѣща̀ ѻ҆́нъ и҆ речѐ: чл҃вѣ́къ нарица́емый і҆и҃съ бре́нїе сотворѝ и҆ пома́за ѻ҆́чи моѝ и҆ рече́ ми: и҆дѝ въ кꙋпѣ́ль сїлѡа́млю и҆ ᲂу҆мы́йсѧ. Ше́дъ же и҆ ᲂу҆мы́всѧ, прозрѣ́хъ.
11 Respondió él y dijo: El hombre que se llama Jesús, hizo lodo, y me untó los ojos, y me dijo: Ve al Siloé, y lávate: y fuí, y me lavé, y recibí la vista.
11 He answered, “A man called Jesus made mud, anointed my eyes, and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went away and washed, and I received sight.”
12 Рѣ́ша ᲂу҆̀бо є҆мꙋ̀: кто̀ то́й є҆́сть; Глаго́ла: не вѣ́мъ.
12 Entonces le dijeron: ¿Dónde está aquél? El dijo: No sé.
12 Then they asked him, “Where is he?” He said, “I don’t know.”
13 Ведо́ша (же) є҆го̀ къ фарїсе́ѡмъ, и҆́же бѣ̀ и҆ногда̀ слѣ́пъ.
13 Llevaron á los Fariseos al que antes había sido ciego.
13 They brought him who had been blind to the Pharisees.
14 Бѣ́ же сꙋббѡ́та, є҆гда̀ сотворѝ бре́нїе і҆и҃съ и҆ ѿве́рзе є҆мꙋ̀ ѻ҆́чи.
14 Y era sábado cuando Jesús había hecho el lodo, y le había abierto los ojos.
14 It was a Sabbath when Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes.
15 Па́ки же вопроша́хꙋ є҆го̀ и҆ фарїсе́є, ка́кѡ прозрѣ̀. Ѻ҆́нъ же речѐ и҆̀мъ: бре́нїе положѝ мнѣ̀ на ѻ҆́чи, и҆ ᲂу҆мы́хсѧ, и҆ ви́жꙋ.
15 Y volviéronle á preguntar también los Fariseos de qué manera había recibido la vista. Y él les dijo: Púsome lodo sobre los ojos, y me lavé, y veo.
15 Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. He said to them, “He put mud on my eyes, I washed, and I see.”
16 Глаго́лахꙋ ᲂу҆̀бо ѿ фарїсє́й нѣ́цыи: нѣ́сть се́й ѿ бг҃а чл҃вѣ́къ, ꙗ҆́кѡ сꙋббѡ́тꙋ не храни́тъ. Ѻ҆́вїи глаго́лахꙋ: ка́кѡ мо́жетъ человѣ́къ грѣ́шенъ сицева̑ зна́мєнїѧ твори́ти; И҆ ра́спрѧ бѣ̀ въ ни́хъ.
16 Entonces unos de los Fariseos decían: Este hombre no es de Dios, que no guarda el sábado. Otros decían: ¿Cómo puede un hombre pecador hacer estas señales? Y había disensión entre ellos.
16 Some therefore of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, because he doesn’t keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” So there was division among them.
17 Глаго́лахꙋ (ᲂу҆̀бо) слѣпцꙋ̀ па́ки: ты̀ что̀ глаго́леши ѡ҆ не́мъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ ѿве́рзе ѻ҆́чи твоѝ; Ѻ҆́нъ же речѐ, ꙗ҆́кѡ прⷪ҇ро́къ є҆́сть.
17 Vuelven á decir al ciego: ¿Tú, qué dices del que te abrió los ojos? Y él dijo: Que es profeta.
17 Therefore they asked the blind man again, “What do you say about him, because he opened your eyes?” He said, “He is a prophet.”
18 Не ꙗ҆́ша ᲂу҆̀бо вѣ́ры і҆ꙋде́є ѡ҆ не́мъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ слѣ́пъ бѣ̀ и҆ прозрѣ̀, до́ндеже возгласи́ша роди́тєлѧ тогѡ̀ прозрѣ́вшагѡ
18 Mas los Judíos no creían de él, que había sido ciego, y hubiese recibido la vista, hasta que llamaron á los padres del que había recibido la vista;
18 The Jews therefore didn’t believe concerning him, that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight,
19 и҆ вопроси́ша ѧ҆̀, глаго́люще: се́й ли є҆́сть сы́нъ ва́ю, є҆го́же вы̀ глаго́лете, ꙗ҆́кѡ слѣ́пъ роди́сѧ; ка́кѡ ᲂу҆̀бо нн҃ѣ ви́дитъ;
19 Y preguntáronles, diciendo: ¿Es éste vuestro hijo, el que vosotros decís que nació ciego? ¿Cómo, pues, ve ahora?
19 and asked them, “Is this your son, whom you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”
20 Ѿвѣща́ста (же) и҆̀мъ роди́тєлѧ є҆гѡ̀ и҆ рѣ́ста: вѣ́мы, ꙗ҆́кѡ се́й є҆́сть сы́нъ на́ю и҆ ꙗ҆́кѡ слѣ́пъ роди́сѧ:
20 Respondiéronles sus padres y dijeron: Sabemos que éste es nuestro hijo, y que nació ciego:
20 His parents answered them, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
21 ка́кѡ же нн҃ѣ ви́дитъ, не вѣ́мы, и҆лѝ кто̀ ѿве́рзе є҆мꙋ̀ ѻ҆́чи, мы̀ не вѣ́мы: са́мъ во́зрастъ и҆́мать, самого̀ вопроси́те, са́мъ ѡ҆ себѣ̀ да глаго́летъ.
21 Mas cómo vea ahora, no sabemos; ó quién le haya abierto los ojos, nosotros no lo sabemos; él tiene edad, preguntadle á él; él hablará de sí.
21 but how he now sees, we don’t know; or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. He is of age. Ask him. He will speak for himself.”
22 Сїѧ̑ реко́ста роди́тєлѧ є҆гѡ̀, ꙗ҆́кѡ боѧ́стасѧ жидѡ́въ: ᲂу҆же́ бо бѧ́хꙋ сложи́лисѧ жи́дове, да, а҆́ще кто̀ є҆го̀ и҆сповѣ́сть хрⷭ҇та̀, ѿлꙋче́нъ ѿ со́нмища бꙋ́детъ:
22 Esto dijeron sus padres, porque tenían miedo de los Judíos: porque ya los Judíos habían resuelto que si alguno confesase ser él el Mesías, fuese fuera de la sinagoga.
22 His parents said these things because they feared the Jews; for the Jews had already agreed that if any man would confess him as Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.
23 сегѡ̀ ра́ди роди́тєлѧ є҆гѡ̀ реко́ста, ꙗ҆́кѡ во́зрастъ и҆́мать, самого̀ вопроси́те.
23 Por eso dijeron sus padres: Edad tiene, preguntadle á él.
23 Therefore his parents said, “He is of age. Ask him.”
24 Возгласи́ша же втори́цею человѣ́ка, и҆́же бѣ̀ слѣ́пъ, и҆ рѣ́ша є҆мꙋ̀: да́ждь сла́вꙋ бг҃ꙋ: мы̀ вѣ́мы, ꙗ҆́кѡ чл҃вѣ́къ се́й грѣ́шенъ є҆́сть.
24 Así que, volvieron á llamar al hombre que había sido ciego, y dijéronle: Da gloria á Dios: nosotros sabemos que este hombre es pecador.
24 So they called the man who was blind a second time, and said to him, “Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.”
25 Ѿвѣща̀ ᲂу҆̀бо ѻ҆́нъ и҆ речѐ: а҆́ще грѣ́шенъ є҆́сть, не вѣ́мъ: є҆ди́но вѣ́мъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ слѣ́пъ бѣ́хъ, нн҃ѣ же ви́жꙋ.
25 Entonces él respondió, y dijo: Si es pecador, no lo sé: una cosa sé, que habiendo yo sido ciego, ahora veo.
25 He therefore answered, “I don’t know if he is a sinner. One thing I do know: that though I was blind, now I see.”
26 Рѣ́ша же є҆мꙋ̀ па́ки: что̀ сотворѝ тебѣ̀; ка́кѡ ѿве́рзе ѻ҆́чи твоѝ;
26 Y volviéronle á decir: ¿Qué te hizo? ¿Cómo te abrió los ojos?
26 They said to him again, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”
27 Ѿвѣща̀ и҆̀мъ: реко́хъ ва́мъ ᲂу҆жѐ, и҆ не слы́шасте: что̀ па́ки хо́щете слы́шати; є҆да̀ и҆ вы̀ ᲂу҆чн҃цы̀ є҆гѡ̀ хо́щете бы́ти;
27 Respondióles: Ya os [lo] he dicho, y no habéis atendido: ¿por qué lo queréis otra vez oir? ¿queréis también vosotros haceros sus discípulos?
27 He answered them, “I told you already, and you didn’t listen. Why do you want to hear it again? You don’t also want to become his disciples, do you?”
28 Ѻ҆ни́ же ᲂу҆кори́ша є҆гѡ̀ и҆ рѣ́ша (є҆мꙋ̀): ты̀ ᲂу҆чн҃къ є҆сѝ тогѡ̀: мы́ же мѡѷсе́ѡвы є҆смы̀ ᲂу҆ченицы̀:
28 Y le ultrajaron, y dijeron: Tú eres su discípulo; pero nosotros discípulos de Moisés somos.
28 They insulted him and said, “You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.
29 мы̀ вѣ́мы, ꙗ҆́кѡ мѡѷсе́ови гл҃а бг҃ъ, сегѡ́ же не вѣ́мы, ѿкꙋ́дꙋ є҆́сть.
29 Nosotros sabemos que á Moisés habló Dios: mas éste no sabemos de dónde es.
29 We know that God has spoken to Moses. But as for this man, we don’t know where he comes from.”
30 Ѿвѣща̀ человѣ́къ и҆ речѐ и҆̀мъ: ѡ҆ се́мъ бо ди́вно є҆́сть, ꙗ҆́кѡ вы̀ не вѣ́сте, ѿкꙋ́дꙋ є҆́сть, и҆ ѿве́рзе ѻ҆́чи моѝ:
30 Respondió aquel hombre, y díjoles: Por cierto, maravillosa cosa es ésta, que vosotros no sabéis de dónde sea, y [á mí] me abrió los ojos.
30 The man answered them, “How amazing! You don’t know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes.
31 вѣ́мы же, ꙗ҆́кѡ грѣ́шники бг҃ъ не послꙋ́шаетъ, но а҆́ще кто̀ бг҃очте́цъ є҆́сть и҆ во́лю є҆гѡ̀ твори́тъ, тогѡ̀ послꙋ́шаетъ:
31 Y sabemos que Dios no oye á los pecadores: mas si alguno es temeroso de Dios, y hace su voluntad, á éste oye.
31 We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, he listens to him.
32 ѿ вѣ́ка нѣ́сть слы́шано, ꙗ҆́кѡ кто̀ ѿве́рзе ѻ҆́чи слѣ́пꙋ рожде́нꙋ:
32 Desde el siglo no fué oído, que abriese alguno los ojos de uno que nació ciego.
32 Since the world began it has never been heard of that anyone opened the eyes of someone born blind.
33 а҆́ще не бы̀ бы́лъ се́й ѿ бг҃а, не мо́глъ бы твори́ти ничесѡ́же.
33 Si éste no fuera de Dios, no pudiera hacer nada.
33 If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.”
34 Ѿвѣща́ша и҆ рѣ́ша є҆мꙋ̀: во грѣсѣ́хъ ты̀ роди́лсѧ є҆сѝ ве́сь, и҆ ты́ ли ны̀ ᲂу҆чи́ши; И҆ и҆згна́ша є҆го̀ во́нъ.
34 Respondieron, y dijéronle: En pecados eres nacido todo, ¿y tú nos enseñas? Y echáronle fuera.
34 They answered him, “You were altogether born in sins, and do you teach us?” Then they threw him out.
35 Оу҆слы́ша і҆и҃съ, ꙗ҆́кѡ и҆згна́ша є҆го̀ во́нъ, и҆ ѡ҆брѣ́тъ є҆го̀, речѐ є҆мꙋ̀: ты̀ вѣ́рꙋеши ли въ сн҃а бж҃їѧ;
35 Oyó Jesús que le habían echado fuera; y hallándole, díjole: ¿Crees tú en el Hijo de Dios?
35 Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and finding him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of God?”
36 Ѿвѣща̀ ѻ҆́нъ и҆ речѐ: и҆ кто̀ є҆́сть, гдⷭ҇и, да вѣ́рꙋю въ него̀;
36 Respondió él, y dijo: ¿Quién es, Señor, para que crea en él?
36 He answered, “Who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?”
37 Рече́ же є҆мꙋ̀ і҆и҃съ: и҆ ви́дѣлъ є҆сѝ є҆го̀, и҆ гл҃ѧй съ тобо́ю то́й є҆́сть.
37 Y díjole Jesús: Y le has visto, y el que habla contigo, él es.
37 Jesus said to him, “You have both seen him, and it is he who speaks with you.”
38 Ѻ҆́нъ же речѐ: вѣ́рꙋю, гдⷭ҇и. И҆ поклони́сѧ є҆мꙋ̀.
38 Y él dice: Creo, Señor; y adoróle.
38 He said, “Lord, I believe!” and he worshiped him.
39 И҆ речѐ і҆и҃съ: на сꙋ́дъ а҆́зъ въ мі́ръ се́й прїидо́хъ, да неви́дѧщїи ви́дѧтъ, и҆ ви́дѧщїи слѣ́пи бꙋ́дꙋтъ.
39 Y dijo Jesús: Yo, para juicio he venido á este mundo: para que los que no ven, vean; y los que ven, sean cegados.
39 Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment, that those who don’t see may see; and that those who see may become blind.”
40 И҆ слы́шаша ѿ фарїсє́й сїѧ̑ сꙋ́щїи съ ни́мъ и҆ рѣ́ша є҆мꙋ̀: є҆да̀ и҆ мы̀ слѣ́пи є҆смы̀;
40 Y [ciertos] de los Fariseos que estaban con él oyeron esto, y dijéronle: ¿Somos nosotros también ciegos?
40 Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?”
41 Речѐ и҆̀мъ і҆и҃съ: а҆́ще бы́сте слѣ́пи бы́ли, не бы́сте и҆мѣ́ли грѣха̀: нн҃ѣ же глаго́лете, ꙗ҆́кѡ ви́димъ, грѣ́хъ ᲂу҆̀бо ва́шъ пребыва́етъ.
41 Díjoles Jesús: Si fuerais ciegos, no tuvierais pecado: mas ahora porque decís, Vemos, por tanto vuestro pecado permanece.
41 Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.

«Comentario» es el comienzo de una homilía o exposición sobre este capítulo (homilías de san Juan Crisóstomo; tratados, sermones y comentarios a los Salmos de san Agustín). «Cita» es una frase en la que las notas de la propia edición identifican la cita de un versículo de este capítulo; solo se conserva si el texto coincide con el versículo. Solo se usan obras de autoría segura. Los Salmos siguen la numeración hebrea (Agustín usa la de los Setenta: su Salmo 50 es aquí el 51).
