1 A SONG OF THE ASCENTS. Remember, YHWH, for David, all his afflictions;
1 Cántico gradual. ACUÉRDATE, oh Jehová, de David, [y] de toda su aflicción;
1 A Song of Ascents. Yahweh, remember David and all his affliction,
2 Who has sworn to YHWH, || He has vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
2 how he swore to Yahweh, and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3 “If I enter into the tent of my house, || If I go up on the couch of my bed,
3 No entraré en la morada de mi casa, ni subiré sobre el lecho de mi estrado;
3 “Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, nor go up into my bed;
4 If I give sleep to my eyes, || To my eyelids—slumber,
4 No daré sueño á mis ojos, ni á mis párpados adormecimiento,
4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids,
5 Until I find a place for YHWH, dwelling places for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
5 until I find out a place for Yahweh, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
6 Behold, we have heard it in Ephratah, || We have found it in the fields of the forest.
6 Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar.
7 We come into His dwelling places, || We bow ourselves at His footstool.
7 “We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool.”
8 Arise, O YHWH, to Your rest, || You, and the Ark of Your strength,
8 Arise, Yahweh, into your resting place, you, and the ark of your strength.
9 Your priests put on righteousness, || And Your pious ones cry aloud.
9 Let your priests be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!
10 For the sake of Your servant David, || Do not turn back the face of Your anointed.
10 For your servant David’s sake, don’t turn away the face of your anointed one.
11 YHWH has sworn truth to David, || He does not turn back from it: “Of the fruit of your body, || I set on the throne for you.
11 Yahweh has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: “I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.
12 If your sons keep My covenant, || And My testimonies that I teach them, || Their sons also forever and ever || Sit on the throne for you.”
12 If your children will keep my covenant, my testimony that I will teach them, their children also will sit on your throne forever more.”
13 For YHWH has fixed on Zion, || He has desired [it] for a seat to Himself,
13 For Yahweh has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.
14 “This [is] My rest forever and ever, || Here I sit, for I have desired it.
14 “This is my resting place forever. I will live here, for I have desired it.
15 I greatly bless her provision, || I satisfy her poor [with] bread,
15 I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16 And I clothe her priests [with] salvation, || And her pious ones sing aloud.
16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation. Her saints will shout aloud for joy.
17 There I cause a horn to spring up for David, || I have arranged a lamp for My Anointed.
17 Allí haré reverdecer el cuerno de David: he prevenido lámpara á mi ungido.
17 I will make the horn of David to bud there. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.
18 I clothe His enemies [with] shame, || And His crown flourishes on Him!”
18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on himself, his crown will shine.”
