LSV Literal Standard Version
RV1909 Reina-Valera 1909
1 TO THE OVERSEER. “DO NOT DESTROY.” A PSALM OF ASAPH. A SONG. We have given thanks to You, O God, || We have given thanks, and Your Name [is] near, || They have recounted Your wonders.
2 When I receive an appointment, I judge uprightly.
2 Cuando yo tuviere tiempo, yo juzgaré rectamente.
3 The earth and all its inhabitants are melted, || I have pondered its pillars. Selah.
(Selah.)
4 I have said to the boastful, “Do not be boastful,” || And to the wicked, “Do not raise up a horn.”
5 Do not raise up your horn on high || (You speak with a stiff neck).
6 For not from the east, or from the west, || Nor from the wilderness—[is] elevation.
7 But God [is] judging, || This He makes low—and this He lifts up.
8 For a cup [is] in the hand of YHWH, || And the wine has foamed, || It is full of mixture, and He pours out of it, || Surely wring out its dregs, || And all the wicked of the earth drink,
9 And I declare [it] for all time, || I sing praise to the God of Jacob.
10 And I cut off all horns of the wicked, || The horns of the righteous are exalted!

  1. Cita 75:8 Augustine of Hippo, On Christian Doctrine (Book III, Chapters 22–27)

There are passages, however, in regard to which it is uncertain in what sense they ought to be taken, as for example, "In the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red: it is full of mixture." Now it is uncertain whether this denotes the wrath of God, but not to the last extremity of …

… to your thought, so that your curiosity in investigating the incomprehensible may not incur the reproaches of Job, and you be not asked by him, "Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened?" If ever you hear in the Psalms, "I bear up the pillars of it;" see in these pillars the power which sustains it.
