1 The LORD reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned amongst the cherubim. Let the earth be moved. 2 The LORD is great in Zion. He is high above all the peoples. 3 Let them praise your great and awesome name. He is Holy! 4 The King’s strength also loves justice. You establish equity. You execute justice and righteousness in Jacob. 5 Exalt the LORD our God. Worship at his footstool. He is Holy! 6 Moses and Aaron were amongst his priests, Samuel was amongst those who call on his name. They called on the LORD, and he answered them. 7 He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies, the statute that he gave them. 8 You answered them, LORD our God. You are a God who forgave them, although you took vengeance for their doings. 9 Exalt the LORD, our God. Worship at his holy hill, for the LORD, our God, is holy!

(ver. 1). The new man knoweth this, the old man knoweth it not. The old man is the old life, and the new man the new life: the old life is derived from Adam, the new life is formed in Christ. But in this Psalm, the whole world is enjoined to sing a new song.

And those who said, "The Lord hath reigned; let the people be enraged: [even] He who sitteth upon the cherubim; let the earth be moved," were thus predicting partly that wrath from all nations which after His ascension came upon those who believed in Him, with the movement of the whole earth against the Church; and partly the fact that, …
