2 Y hallando á un Judío llamado Aquila, natural del Ponto, que hacía poco que había venido de Italia, y á Priscila su mujer, (porque Claudio había mandado que todos los Judíos saliesen de Roma) se vino á ellos;
4 A prepiraše se u zbornicama svake subote, i nadgovaraše Jevreje i Grke.
9 A Gospod reče Pavlu noću u utvari: Ne boj se, nego govori, i da ne ućutiš;
11 I on sedi onde godinu i šest meseci učeći ih reči Božjoj
12 A kad beše Galion namesnik u Ahaji, napadoše Jevreji jednodušno na Pavla i dovedoše ga na sud
17 Onda svi Grci uhvatiše Sostena, starešinu zborničkog, i biše ga pred sudnicom; i Galion nije ništa za to mario.
18 A Pavle osta još pozadugo, i oprostivši se s braćom otplovi u Siriju i s njime Priskila i Akila, i ostriže glavu u Kenhreji, jer se beše zavetovao.
19 I dođe u Efes; i njih ostavi onde, a on uđe u zbornicu, i prepiraše se s Jevrejima.
22 I došavši u Ćesariju, iziđe i pozdravi se s crkvom, i siđe u Antiohiju.
23 I provedavši nekoliko vremena iziđe i prođe redom galatijsku zemlju i Frigiju utvrđujući sve učenike.
A kad ga čuše Akila i Priskila, primiše ga i još mu bolje pokazaše put Gospodnji.
27 A kad on htede da pređe u Ahaju, poslaše braća unapred i pisaše učenicima da ga prime. I on došavši onamo pomože mnogo onima koji verovahu blagodaću;

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).

  1. Commentary 18:18 John Chrysostom, Homilies on the Acts of the Apostles (Homily XL)

See how the Law was breaking up; see how they were bound by conscience. This, namely, was a Jewish custom, to shear their heads agreeably with a vow. But then there ought to be also a sacrifice (ch. xxi. 26), which was not the case here. --"Having yet tarried:" after the beating of Sosthenes.
