1 Breme reči Gospodnje zemlji Adrahu i Damasku, gde će počinuti, jer je Gospodnje oko na ljudima i na svim plemenima Izrailjevim.
2 I Emat će zahvatiti, i Tir i Sidon, ako i jesu veoma mudri,
4 Gle, Gospod će ga oterati i vrći će u more silu njegovu, i on će ognjem izgoreti.
6 I u Azotu će sedeti tuđin, i ponos ću filistejski zatrti.
6 Y habitará en Asdod un extranjero, y yo talaré la soberbia de los Palestinos;
17 Jer koliko će biti dobro njegovo i kolika lepota njegova! Od žita će rasti momci, a od slatkog vina devojke.

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).
