1 Και έμεινεν ο Ισραήλ εν Σιττείμ· και ήρχισεν ο λαός να πορνεύη μετά των θυγατέρων Μωάβ·
1 Y REPOSÓ Israel en Sittim, y el pueblo empezó á fornicar con las hijas de Moab:
1 Israel stayed in Shittim; and the people began to play the prostitute with the daughters of Moab;
2 αίτινες προσεκάλεσαν τον λαόν εις τας θυσίας των θεών αυτών· και έφαγεν ο λαός και προσεκύνησε τους θεούς αυτών.
2 Las cuales llamaron al pueblo á los sacrificios de sus dioses: y el pueblo comió, é inclinóse á sus dioses.
2 for they called the people to the sacrifices of their gods. The people ate and bowed down to their gods.
3 Και προσεκολλήθη ο Ισραήλ εις τον Βέελ-φεγώρ· και εξήφθη η οργή του Κυρίου κατά του Ισραήλ.
3 Y allegóse el pueblo á Baal-peor; y el furor de Jehová se encendió contra Israel.
3 Israel joined himself to Baal Peor, and Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel.
4 Και είπε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν, Λάβε πάντας τους αρχηγούς του λαού και κρέμασον αυτούς ενώπιον του Κυρίου κατέναντι του ηλίου· διά να σηκωθή από του Ισραήλ η φλογερά οργή του Κυρίου.
4 Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Toma todos los príncipes del pueblo, y ahórcalos á Jehová delante del sol; y la ira del furor de Jehová se apartará de Israel.
4 Yahweh said to Moses, “Take all the chiefs of the people, and hang them up to Yahweh before the sun, that the fierce anger of Yahweh may turn away from Israel.”
5 Και είπεν ο Μωϋσής προς τους κριτάς του Ισραήλ, Φονεύσατε έκαστος τους ανθρώπους αυτού, τους όσοι προσεκολλήθησαν εις τον Βέελ-φεγώρ.
5 Entonces Moisés dijo á los jueces de Israel: Matad cada uno á aquellos de los suyos que se han allegado á Baal-peor.
5 Moses said to the judges of Israel, “Everyone kill his men who have joined themselves to Baal Peor.”
6 Και ιδού, εις εκ των υιών Ισραήλ ήλθε φέρων εις τους αδελφούς αυτού γυναίκα Μαδιανίτιν, ενώπιον του Μωϋσέως και ενώπιον πάσης της συναγωγής των υιών Ισραήλ, ενώ έκλαιον εν τη θύρα της σκηνής του μαρτυρίου.
6 Y he aquí un varón de los hijos de Israel vino y trajo una Madianita á sus hermanos, á ojos de Moisés y de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, llorando ellos á la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio.
6 Behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought to his brothers a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, while they were weeping at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
7 Και ιδών Φινεές, ο υιός του Ελεάζαρ, υιού του Ααρών του ιερέως, εσηκώθη εκ μέσον της συναγωγής, και λαβών εις την χείρα αυτού δοράτιον,
7 Y viólo Phinees, hijo de Eleazar, hijo de Aarón el sacerdote, y levantóse de en medio de la congregación, y tomó una lanza en su mano:
7 When Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from the middle of the congregation, and took a spear in his hand.
8 υπήγε κατόπιν του ανθρώπου του Ισραηλίτου εις την σκηνήν και διεπέρασεν αμφοτέρους, τον τε άνθρωπον τον Ισραηλίτην και την γυναίκα διά της κοιλίας αυτής. Και έπαυσεν η πληγή από των υιών Ισραήλ.
8 Y fué tras el varón de Israel á la tienda, y alanceólos á ambos, al varón de Israel, y á la mujer por su vientre. Y cesó la mortandad de los hijos de Israel.
8 He went after the man of Israel into the pavilion, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel.
9 Ήσαν δε οι αποθανόντες εν τη πληγή εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες.
9 Y murieron de aquella mortandad veinte y cuatro mil.
9 Those who died by the plague were twenty-four thousand.
10 Και ελάλησε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν λέγων,
10 Entonces Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:
10 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
11 Ο Φινεές, ο υιός του Ελεάζαρ, υιού Ααρών του ιερέως, απέστρεψε τον θυμόν μου από των υιών Ισραήλ, δείξας ζήλον υπέρ εμού μεταξύ αυτών, όθεν δεν εξωλόθρευσα τους υιούς Ισραήλ εν τη ζηλοτυπία μου·
11 Phinees, hijo de Eleazar, hijo de Aarón el sacerdote, ha hecho tornar mi furor de los hijos de Israel, llevado de celo entre ellos: por lo cual yo no he consumido en mi celo á los hijos de Israel.
11 “Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, in that he was jealous with my jealousy among them, so that I didn’t consume the children of Israel in my jealousy.
12 διά τούτο ειπέ, Ιδού, εγώ δίδω εις αυτόν την διαθήκην μου της ειρήνης·
12 Por tanto di[les]: He aquí yo establezco mi pacto de paz con él;
12 Therefore say, ‘Behold, I give to him my covenant of peace.
13 και θέλει είσθαι εις αυτόν και εις το σπέρμα αυτού μετ' αυτόν διαθήκη ιερατείας αιωνίου· διότι εστάθη ζηλωτής υπέρ του Θεού αυτού, και έκαμεν εξιλέωσιν υπέρ των υιών Ισραήλ.
13 Y tendrá él, y su simiente después de él, el pacto del sacerdocio perpetuo; por cuanto tuvo celo por su Dios, é hizo expiación por los hijos de Israel.
13 It shall be to him, and to his offspring after him, the covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was jealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.’”
14 Το δε όνομα του Ισραηλίτου του θανατωθέντος εκείνου, όστις εθανατώθη μετά της γυναικός της Μαδιανίτιδος, ήτο Ζιμβρί, υιός Σαλού, άρχοντος οικογενείας επισήμου μεταξύ των Συμεωνιτών.
14 Y el nombre del varón muerto, que fué muerto con la Madianita, era Zimri hijo de Salu, jefe de una familia de la tribu de Simeón.
14 Now the name of the man of Israel that was slain, who was slain with the Midianite woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a fathers’ house among the Simeonites.
15 Και το όνομα της γυναικός της Μαδιανίτιδος της θανατωθείσης ήτο Χασβί, θυγάτηρ του Σούρ, αρχηγού λαού, εξ επισήμου οικογενείας εν Μαδιάμ.
15 Y el nombre de la mujer Madianita muerta, era Cozbi, hija de Zur, príncipe de pueblos, padre de familia en Madián.
15 The name of the Midianite woman who was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur. He was head of the people of a fathers’ house in Midian.
16 Και ελάλησε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν λέγων,
16 Y Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:
16 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
17 Πολεμείτε τους Μαδιανίτας και πατάξατε αυτούς·
17 Hostilizaréis á los Madianitas, y los heriréis:
17 “Harass the Midianites, and strike them;
18 διότι αυτοί σας πολεμούσι με τας δολιότητας αυτών, με τας οποίας σας εδολιεύθησαν εις την υπόθεσιν του Φεγώρ και εις την υπόθεσιν της Χασβί θυγατρός του άρχοντος Μαδιανίτου, της αδελφής αυτών, ήτις εθανατώθη εν τη ημέρα της πληγής διά την υπόθεσιν του Φεγώρ.
18 Por cuanto ellos os afligieron á vosotros con sus ardides, con que os han engañado en el negocio de Peor, y en el negocio de Cozbi, hija del príncipe de Madián, su hermana, la cual fué muerta el día de la mortandad por causa de Peor.
18 for they harassed you with their wiles, wherein they have deceived you in the matter of Peor, and in the incident regarding Cozbi, the daughter of the prince of Midian, their sister, who was slain on the day of the plague in the matter of Peor.”
