FBV Free Bible Version (Versión Biblia Libre en inglés) WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 When Balaam saw that the Lord wanted to bless Israel, he chose not to use divination as he had previously. Instead he turned towards the desert, 1 Y COMO vió Balaam que parecía bien á Jehová que él bendijese á Israel, no fué, como la primera y segunda vez, á encuentro de agüeros, sino que puso su rostro hacia el desierto;
1 When Balaam saw that it pleased Yahweh to bless Israel, he didn’t go, as at the other times, to use divination, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
2 and as he looked at Israel camped there according to their respective tribes, the Spirit of God came on him.
2 Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.
3 He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eyes are open says;
4 “This is the prophecy of Balaam, son of Beor, the prophecy of a man who sees with eyes that are wide open, the prophecy of one who hears the words of God, who sees the vision given by Almighty, who bows down in respect with open eyes. 4 Dijo el que oyó los dichos de Dios, el que vió la visión del Omnipotente; caído, mas abiertos los ojos:
4 he says, who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:
5 How well set out your tents are, Jacob; the places where you live, Israel! 5 ¡Cuán hermosas son tus tiendas, oh Jacob, tus habitaciones, oh Israel!
5 How goodly are your tents, Jacob, and your dwellings, Israel!
6 They look like wooded valleys, like gardens beside a river, like aloe trees the Lord has planted, like cedars at the water's edge.
6 As valleys they are spread out, as gardens by the riverside, as aloes which Yahweh has planted, as cedar trees beside the waters.
7 The Israelites will pour out bucketfuls of water; their descendants will have plenty of water. Their king will be greater than King Agag; their kingdom will be glorious.
7 Water shall flow from his buckets. His seed shall be in many waters. His king shall be higher than Agag. His kingdom shall be exalted.
8 God led them out of Egypt with great power, as strong as an ox, destroying enemy nations, breaking their bones, piercing them with arrows.
8 God brings him out of Egypt. He has as it were the strength of the wild ox. He shall consume the nations his adversaries, shall break their bones in pieces, and pierce them with his arrows.
9 They are like a lion that crouches and lies down. They are like a lioness that nobody dares to disturb. Those who bless you will be blessed; those who curse you will be cursed.” 9 Se encorvará para echarse como león, y como leona; ¿quién lo despertará?
9 He couched, he lay down as a lion, as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Everyone who blesses you is blessed. Everyone who curses you is cursed.”
10 Balak got angry with Balaam, and beat his fists together. He told Balaam, “I brought you here to curse my enemies, and now look! You keep on blessing them, doing it three times. 10 Entonces se encendió la ira de Balac contra Balaam, y batiendo sus palmas le dijo: Para maldecir á mis enemigos te he llamado, y he aquí los has resueltamente bendecido ya tres veces.
10 Balak’s anger burned against Balaam, and he struck his hands together. Balak said to Balaam, “I called you to curse my enemies, and, behold, you have altogether blessed them these three times.
11 Leave right now! Go home! I promised to pay you well, but the Lord has made sure you wouldn't receive any payment.” 11 Húyete, por tanto, ahora á tu lugar: yo dije que te honraría, mas he aquí que Jehová te ha privado de honra.
11 Therefore, flee to your place, now! I thought to promote you to great honor; but, behold, Yahweh has kept you back from honor.”
12 But Balaam said to Balak, “Didn't I already explain to the messengers you sent 12 Y Balaam le respondió: ¿No lo declaré yo también á tus mensajeros que me enviaste, diciendo:
12 Balaam said to Balak, “Didn’t I also tell your messengers whom you sent to me, saying,
13 that even if you gave me your whole palace full of silver and gold, I couldn't do anything I wanted or disobey the command of the Lord my God in any way? I can only say what the Lord tells me. 13 Si Balac me diese su casa llena de plata y oro, yo no podré traspasar el dicho de Jehová para hacer cosa buena ni mala de mi arbitrio; [mas] lo que Jehová hablare, eso diré yo?
13 ‘If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can’t go beyond Yahweh’s word, to do either good or bad from my own mind. I will say what Yahweh says’?
14 Listen! I'm going back home now to my own people, but first let me warn you what these Israelites are going to do to your people in the future.” 14 He aquí yo me voy ahora á mi pueblo: por tanto, ven, te indicaré lo que este pueblo ha de hacer á tu pueblo en los postrimeros días.
14 Now, behold, I go to my people. Come, I will inform you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days.”
15 Then Balaam gave a declaration, saying, “This is the prophecy of Balaam, son of Beor, the prophecy of a man whose eyes are wide open 15 Y tomó su parábola, y dijo: Dijo Balaam hijo de Beor, dijo el varón de ojos abiertos:
15 He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eyes are open says;
16 the prophecy of one who hears the words of God, who receives knowledge from the Most High, who sees the vision given by Almighty, who bows down in respect with open eyes.
16 he says, who hears the words of God, knows the knowledge of the Most High, and who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:
17 I see him, but this isn't now. I observe him, but this isn't close at hand. In the future a leader like a star will come from Jacob, a ruler with a scepter will come to power from Israel. He will crush the heads of the Moabites, and destroy all the people of Seth.
17 I see him, but not now. I see him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A scepter will rise out of Israel, and shall strike through the corners of Moab, and crush all the sons of Sheth.
18 The country of Edom will be conquered, his enemy Seir will be conquered, and the Israelites will be victorious.
18 Edom shall be a possession. Seir, his enemy, also shall be a possession, while Israel does valiantly.
19 A ruler from Jacob will come and destroy those left in the city.” 19 Y el de Jacob se enseñoreará, y destruirá de la ciudad lo que quedare.
19 Out of Jacob shall one have dominion, and shall destroy the remnant from the city.”
20 Balaam turned his attention to the Amalekites and gave this declaration about them, saying, “Amalek was first among the nations, but they will end up being destroyed.” 20 Y viendo á Amalec, tomó su parábola, y dijo: Amalec, cabeza de gentes; mas su postrimería perecerá para siempre.
20 He looked at Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, “Amalek was the first of the nations, but his latter end shall come to destruction.”
21 He turned his attention to the Kenites and gave this declaration about them, saying, “Where you live is safe and secure, like a nest on a cliff-face. 21 Y viendo al Cineo, tomó su parábola, y dijo: Fuerte es tu habitación, pon en la peña tu nido:
21 He looked at the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said, “Your dwelling place is strong. Your nest is set in the rock.
22 But Kain will be burned down when Assyria conquers you.” 22 Que el Cineo será echado, cuando Assur te llevará cautivo.
22 Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, until Asshur carries you away captive.”
23 Then Balaam gave another declaration, saying, “It's a tragedy! Who can survive when God does this? 23 Todavía tomó su parábola, y dijo: ¡Ay! ¿quién vivirá cuando hiciere Dios estas cosas?
23 He took up his parable, and said, “Alas, who shall live when God does this?
24 Ships will be sent from Cyprus to attack Assyria and Eber, but they too will be permanently destroyed.” 24 Y [vendrán] navíos de la costa de Cittim, y afligirán á Assur, afligirán también á Eber: mas él también perecerá para siempre.
24 But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim. They shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber. He also shall come to destruction.”
25 Then Balaam left and returned to his own country, and Balak left too.
25 Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.
