GNV Biblia de Ginebra (1599) WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 And Dauid counselled with the captaines of thousandes and of hundreths, and with all the gouernours.
1 David consulted with the captains of thousands and of hundreds, even with every leader.
2 And Dauid said to all the Congregation of Israel, If it seeme good to you, and that it proceedeth of the Lord our God, we will sende to and from vnto our brethren, that are left in all the lande of Israel (for with them are the Priests and the Leuites in the cities and their suburbes) that they may assemble them selues vnto vs. 2 Y dijo David á todo el congreso de Israel: Si os parece bien y de Jehová nuestro Dios, enviaremos á todas partes [á llamar] nuestros hermanos que han quedado en todas las tierras de Israel, y á los sacerdotes y Levitas [que están] con ellos en sus ciudades y ejidos que se junten con nosotros;
2 David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if it is of Yahweh our God, let’s send word everywhere to our brothers who are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have pasture lands, that they may gather themselves to us.
3 And we will bring againe the Arke of our God to vs: for we sought not vnto it in the dayes of Saul.
3 Also, let’s bring the ark of our God back to us again, for we didn’t seek it in the days of Saul.”
4 And all the Congregation answered, Let vs doe so: for the thing seemed good in the eyes of all the people.
4 All the assembly said that they would do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
5 So Dauid gathered all Israel together from Shihor in Egypt, euen vnto the entring of Hamath, to bring the Arke of God from Kiriath-iearim.
5 So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor River of Egypt even to the entrance of Hamath, to bring God’s ark from Kiriath Jearim.
6 And Dauid went vp and all Israel to Baalath, in Kiriath-iearim, that was in Iudah, to bring vp from thence the Arke of God the Lord that dwelleth betweene the Cherubims, where his Name is called on. 6 Y subió David con todo Israel á Baala de Chîriath-jearim, que es en Judá, para pasar de allí el arca de Jehová Dios que habita entre los querubines, sobre la cual su nombre es invocado.
6 David went up with all Israel to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there God Yahweh’s ark that sits above the cherubim, that is called by the Name.
7 And they caryed the Arke of God in a newe cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Vzza and Ahio guided the cart.
7 They carried God’s ark on a new cart, and brought it out of Abinadab’s house; and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
8 And Dauid and all Israel played before God with all their might, both with songes and with harpes, and with violes, and with timbrels and with cymbales and with trumpets.
8 David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs, with harps, with stringed instruments, with tambourines, with cymbals, and with trumpets.
9 And when they came vnto the thresshing floore of Chidon, Vzza put forth his hand to holde the Arke, for the oxen did shake it. 9 Y como llegaron á la era de Chidón, Uzza extendió su mano al arca para tenerla, porque los bueyes se desmandaban.
9 When they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled.
10 But the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Vzza, and he smote him, because he layed his hande vpon the Arke: so he dyed there before God. 10 Y el furor de Jehová se encendió contra Uzza, é hiriólo, porque había extendido su mano al arca: y murió allí delante de Dios.
10 Yahweh’s anger burned against Uzza, and he struck him because he put his hand on the ark; and he died there before God.
11 And Dauid was angrie, because the Lord had made a breach in Vzza, and he called the name of that place Perez-vzza vnto this day.
11 David was displeased, because Yahweh had broken out against Uzza. He called that place Perez Uzza, to this day.
12 And Dauid feared God that day, saying, Howe shall I bring in to me the Arke of God? 12 Y David temió á Dios aquel día, y dijo: ¿Cómo he de traer á mi casa el arca de Dios?
12 David was afraid of God that day, saying, “How can I bring God’s ark home to me?”
13 Therefore Dauid brought not the Arke to him into the citie of Dauid, but caused it to turne into the house of Obed Edom the Gittite.
13 So David didn’t move the ark with him into David’s city, but carried it aside into Obed-Edom the Gittite’s house.
14 So the Arke of God remained in the house of Obed Edom, euen in his house three moneths: and the Lord blessed the house of Obed Edom, and all that he had.
14 God’s ark remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months; and Yahweh blessed Obed-Edom’s house and all that he had.
