LSV Literal Standard Version WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, says to Ahab, “YHWH, God of Israel, lives, before whom I have stood, there is not dew and rain these years, except according to my word.” 1 ENTONCES Elías Thisbita, que era de los moradores de Galaad, dijo á Achâb: Vive Jehová Dios de Israel, delante del cual estoy, que no habrá lluvia ni rocío en estos años, sino por mi palabra.
1 Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”
2 And the word of YHWH is to him, saying, 2 Y fué á él palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
2 Then Yahweh’s word came to him, saying,
3 “Go from this [place]; and you have turned for yourself eastward, and been hidden by the Brook of Cherith that [is] on the front of the Jordan, 3 Apártate de aquí, y vuélvete al oriente, y escóndete en el arroyo de Cherith, que está delante del Jordán;
3 “Go away from here, turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan.
4 and it has been [that] you drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to sustain you there.” 4 Y beberás del arroyo; y yo he mandado á los cuervos que te den allí de comer.
4 You shall drink from the brook. I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”
5 And he goes and does according to the word of YHWH, indeed, he goes and dwells by the Brook of Cherith, that [is] on the front of the Jordan, 5 Y él fué, é hizo conforme á la palabra de Jehová; pues se fué y asentó junto al arroyo de Cherith, que está antes del Jordán.
5 So he went and did according to Yahweh’s word, for he went and lived by the brook Cherith that is before the Jordan.
6 and the ravens are bringing bread and flesh to him in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening, and he drinks from the brook. 6 Y los cuervos le traían pan y carne por la mañana, y pan y carne á la tarde; y bebía del arroyo.
6 The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.
7 And it comes to pass, at the end of [the] days, that the brook dries up, for there has been no rain in the land, 7 Pasados algunos días, secóse el arroyo; porque no había llovido sobre la tierra.
7 After a while, the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.
8 and the word of YHWH is to him, saying, 8 Y fué á él palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
8 Yahweh’s word came to him, saying,
9 “Rise, go to Zarephath, that [belongs] to Sidon, and you have dwelt there; behold, I have commanded a widow woman to sustain you there.” 9 Levántate, vete á Sarepta de Sidón, y allí morarás: he aquí yo he mandado allí á una mujer viuda que te sustente.
9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you.”
10 And he rises, and goes to Zarephath, and comes to the opening of the city, and behold, there [is] a widow woman gathering sticks, and he calls to her and says, “Please bring a little water to me in a vessel, and I drink.” 10 Entonces él se levantó, y se fué á Sarepta. Y como llegó á la puerta de la ciudad, he aquí una mujer viuda que estaba allí cogiendo serojas; y él la llamó, y díjole: Ruégote que me traigas una poca de agua en un vaso, para que beba.
10 So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and said, “Please get me a little water in a jar, that I may drink.”
11 And she goes to bring [it], and he calls to her and says, “Please bring a morsel of bread to me in your hand.” 11 Y yendo ella para traérsela, él la volvió á llamar, y díjole: Ruégote que me traigas también un bocado de pan en tu mano.
11 As she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”
12 And she says, “Your God YHWH lives, I do not have a cake, but the fullness of the hand of meal in a pitcher, and a little oil in a dish; and behold, I am gathering two sticks, and have gone in and prepared it for myself, and for my son, and we have eaten it—and died.” 12 Y ella respondió: Vive Jehová Dios tuyo, que no tengo pan cocido; que solamente un puñado de harina tengo en la tinaja, y un poco de aceite en una botija: y ahora cogía dos serojas, para entrarme y aderezarlo para mí y para mi hijo, y que lo comamos, y nos muramos.
12 She said, “As Yahweh your God lives, I don’t have anything baked, but only a handful of meal in a jar and a little oil in a jar. Behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”
13 And Elijah says to her, “Do not fear, go, do according to your word, only make a little cake for me there, in the first place, and you have brought [it] out to me; and for you and for your son make [it] last; 13 Y Elías le dijo: No hayas temor; ve, haz como has dicho: empero hazme á mí primero de ello una pequeña torta [cocida] debajo de la ceniza, y tráemela; y después harás para ti y para tu hijo.
13 Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go and do as you have said; but make me a little cake from it first, and bring it out to me, and afterward make some for you and for your son.
14 for thus said YHWH, God of Israel: The pitcher of meal is not consumed, and the dish of oil is not lacking, until the day of YHWH’s giving a shower on the face of the ground.” 14 Porque Jehová Dios de Israel ha dicho así: La tinaja de la harina no escaseará, ni se disminuirá la botija del aceite, hasta aquel día que Jehová dará lluvia sobre la haz de la tierra.
14 For Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘The jar of meal will not run out, and the jar of oil will not fail, until the day that Yahweh sends rain on the earth.’”
15 And she goes, and does according to the word of Elijah, and she eats, she and he and her household [for many] days; 15 Entonces ella fué, é hizo como le dijo Elías; y comió él, y ella y su casa, [muchos] días.
15 She went and did according to the saying of Elijah; and she, he, and her household ate many days.
16 the pitcher of meal was not consumed, and the dish of oil did not lack, according to the word of YHWH that He spoke by the hand of Elijah. 16 Y la tinaja de la harina no escaseó, ni menguó la botija del aceite, conforme á la palabra de Jehová que había dicho por Elías.
16 The jar of meal didn’t run out and the jar of oil didn’t fail, according to Yahweh’s word, which he spoke by Elijah.
17 And it comes to pass, after these things, the son of the woman, mistress of the house, has been sick, and his sickness is very severe until no breath has been left in him. 17 Después de estas cosas aconteció que cayó enfermo el hijo del ama de la casa, y la enfermedad fué tan grave, que no quedó en él resuello.
17 After these things, the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, became sick; and his sickness was so severe that there was no breath left in him.
18 And she says to Elijah, “What [is this] to me and to you, O man of God? You have come to me to cause my iniquity to be remembered, and to put my son to death!” 18 Y ella dijo á Elías: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo, varón de Dios? ¿has venido á mí para traer en memoria mis iniquidades, y para hacerme morir mi hijo?
18 She said to Elijah, “What have I to do with you, you man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to memory, and to kill my son!”
19 And he says to her, “Give your son to me”; and he takes him out of her bosom, and takes him up to the upper chamber where he is abiding, and lays him on his own bed, 19 Y él le dijo: Dame acá tu hijo. Entonces él lo tomó de su regazo, y llevólo á la cámara donde él estaba, y púsole sobre su cama;
19 He said to her, “Give me your son.” He took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into the room where he stayed, and laid him on his own bed.
20 and cries to YHWH and says, “My God YHWH, have You also brought calamity on the widow with whom I am sojourning, to put her son to death?” 20 Y clamando á Jehová, dijo: Jehová Dios mío, ¿aun á la viuda en cuya casa yo estoy hospedado has afligido, matándole su hijo?
20 He cried to Yahweh and said, “Yahweh my God, have you also brought evil on the widow with whom I am staying, by killing her son?”
21 And he stretches himself out on the boy three times, and calls to YHWH and says, “O YHWH my God, please let the soul of this boy return into his midst”; 21 Y midióse sobre el niño tres veces, y clamó á Jehová, y dijo: Jehová Dios mío, ruégote que vuelva el alma de este niño á sus entrañas.
21 He stretched himself on the child three times, and cried to Yahweh and said, “Yahweh my God, please let this child’s soul come into him again.”
22 and YHWH listens to the voice of Elijah, and the soul of the boy turns back into his midst, and he lives. 22 Y Jehová oyó la voz de Elías, y el alma del niño volvió á sus entrañas, y revivió.
22 Yahweh listened to the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
23 And Elijah takes the boy, and brings him down from the upper chamber of the house, and gives him to his mother, and Elijah says, “See, your son lives!” 23 Tomando luego Elías al niño, trájolo de la cámara á la casa, y diólo á su madre, y díjole Elías: Mira, tu hijo vive.
23 Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the room into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said, “Behold, your son lives.”
24 And the woman says to Elijah, “Now [by] this I have known that you [are] a man of God, and the word of YHWH in your mouth [is] truth.” 24 Entonces la mujer dijo á Elías: Ahora conozco que tú eres varón de Dios, y que la palabra de Jehová es verdad en tu boca.
24 The woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God, and that Yahweh’s word in your mouth is truth.”
