1 TO THE OVERSEER. A SONG. A PSALM. Shout to God, all the earth.
1 For the Chief Musician. A song. A Psalm. Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth!
2 Praise the glory of His Name, || Make honorable His praise.
2 Sing to the glory of his name! Offer glory and praise!
3 Say to God, “How fearful Your works—By the abundance of Your strength, || Your enemies feign obedience to You.
3 Tell God, “How awesome are your deeds! Through the greatness of your power, your enemies submit themselves to you.
4 All the earth bows to You, || They sing praise to You, they praise Your Name.” Selah.
4 Toda la tierra te adorará, y cantará á ti; cantarán á tu nombre. (Selah.)
4 All the earth will worship you, and will sing to you; they will sing to your name.” Selah.
5 Come, and see the works of God, || Fearful acts toward the sons of men.
5 Come, and see God’s deeds— awesome work on behalf of the children of men.
6 He has turned a sea to dry land, || Through a river they pass over on foot, || There we rejoice in Him.
6 He turned the sea into dry land. They went through the river on foot. There, we rejoiced in him.
7 Ruling by His might for all time, || His eyes watch among the nations, || The stubborn do not exalt themselves. Selah.
(Selah.)
7 He rules by his might forever. His eyes watch the nations. Don’t let the rebellious rise up against him. Selah.
8 Bless our God you peoples, || And sound the voice of His praise,
8 Praise our God, you peoples! Make the sound of his praise heard,
9 Who has placed our soul in life, || And has not permitted our feet to be moved.
9 who preserves our life among the living, and doesn’t allow our feet to be moved.
10 For You have tried us, O God, || You have refined us as the refining of silver.
10 For you, God, have tested us. You have refined us, as silver is refined.
11 You have brought us into a net, || You have placed pressure on our loins.
11 You brought us into prison. You laid a burden on our backs.
12 You have caused man to ride at our head. We have entered into fire and into water, || And You bring us out to a watered place.
12 You allowed men to ride over our heads. We went through fire and through water, but you brought us to the place of abundance.
13 I enter Your house with burnt-offerings, || I complete my vows to You,
13 I will come into your temple with burnt offerings. I will pay my vows to you,
14 For my lips were opened, || And my mouth spoke in my distress:
14 which my lips promised, and my mouth spoke, when I was in distress.
15 “I offer to You burnt-offerings of fatlings, || With incense of rams, I prepare a bullock with male goats.” Selah.
(Selah.)
15 I will offer to you burnt offerings of fat animals, with the offering of rams, I will offer bulls with goats. Selah.
16 Come, hear, all you who fear God, || And I recount what He did for my soul.
16 Come and hear, all you who fear God. I will declare what he has done for my soul.
17 I have called to Him [with] my mouth, || And exaltation [is] under my tongue.
17 A él clamé con mi boca, y ensalzado fué con mi lengua.
17 I cried to him with my mouth. He was extolled with my tongue.
18 Iniquity, if I have seen in my heart, || The Lord does not hear.
18 If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened.
19 But God has heard, || He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
19 But most certainly, God has listened. He has heard the voice of my prayer.
20 Blessed [is] God, || Who has not turned aside my prayer, || And His loving-kindness, from me!
20 Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor his loving kindness from me.

  1. Comentario Augustine of Hippo, Expositions on the Psalms (Psalm LXV)

The voice of holy prophecy must be confessed in the very title of this Psalm. It is inscribed, "Unto the end, a Psalm of David, a song of Jeremiah and Ezekiel, on account of the people of transmigration when they were beginning to go forth." How it fared with our fathers in the time of the transmigration to Babylon, is …

  2. Cita 66:9 Augustine of Hippo, Sermons on Selected Lessons of the New Testament (Sermon XCV)

But there is a dangerous movement, of which it is written, "Suffer not my feet to be moved." But there is another movement of him who seeketh, knocketh, asketh.

  3. Cita 66:10–12 Cyril of Jerusalem, Catechetical Lectures (Lecture XXIII)

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and water; and thou broughtest us out into a place of rest.

  4. Cita 66:13 Basil of Caesarea, On the Holy Spirit (Chapters XXV–XXVI)

This is the case where, as we have observed, it often stands instead of with; as for instance, "I will go into thy house in burnt offerings," instead of with burnt offerings and "he brought them forth also by silver and gold," that is to say with silver and gold and "thou goest not forth in our armies" instead of …
