RV1909 Reina-Valera 1909
1 Jer gle, Gospod, Gospod nad vojskama uzeće Jerusalimu i Judi potporu i pomoć, svaku potporu u hlebu i svaku potporu u vodi,
1 PORQUE he aquí que el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos quita de Jerusalem y de Judá el sustentador y el fuerte, todo sustento de pan y todo socorro de agua;
2 Junaka i vojnika, sudiju i proroka i mudraca i starca,
2 El valiente y el hombre de guerra, el juez y el profeta, el adivino y el anciano;
3 Pedesetnika i uglednog čoveka, i savetnika i veštog umetnika i čoveka rečitog.
4 I daću im knezove mladiće, i deca će im biti gospodari.
5 I činiće silu u narodu jedan drugom i svaki bližnjem svom; dete će ustajati na starca i nepošten čovek na poštenog.
6 Cuando alguno trabare de su hermano, de la familia de su padre, [y le dijere], Que vestir tienes, tú serás nuestro príncipe, y sea en tu mano esta ruina;
8 Jer se obori Jerusalim i Juda pade, jer se jezik njihov i dela njihova protive Gospodu da draže oči slave Njegove.
12 Narodu mom čine silu deca, i žene su im gospodari. Narode moj!
15 Zašto gazite narod moj i lice siromasima satirete? Govori Gospod, Gospod nad vojskama.
16 Još govori Gospod: Što se poneše kćeri sionske i idu opruženog vrata i namigujući očima, sitno koračaju i zvekeću nogama,
17 Zato će Gospod učiniti da oćelavi teme kćerima sionskim, i otkriće Gospod golotinju njihovu.
18 Tada će Gospod skinuti nakit s obuće i vezove i mesečiće,
18 Aquel día quitará el Señor el atavío de los calzados, y las redecillas, y las lunetas;
19 nizove i lančiće i trepetljike,
19 Los collares, y los joyeles, y los brazaletes;
20 ukosnike i podveze i pojase i stakalca mirisna i oboce,
20 Las escofietas, y los atavíos de las piernas, los partidores del pelo, los pomitos de olor, y los zarcillos;
21 prstene i počeonike,
21 Los anillos, y los joyeles de las narices;
22 svečane haljine i ogrtače i privese i toboce,
22 Las ropas de remuda, los mantoncillos, los velos, y los alfileres;
23 i ogledala i košuljice i oglavlja i pokrivala.
24 I mesto mirisa biće smrad, i mesto pojasa raspojasina, mesto pletenica ćela, mesto širokih skuta pripasana vreća, i mesto lepote ogorelina.
25 Tvoji će ljudi pasti od mača i junaci tvoji u ratu.
26 I tužiće i plakaće vrata njegova, a on će pust ležati na zemlji.

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).

    And shouldest thou enter into a church, thou goest forth, without getting anything but countless leers, and revilings, and curses, not from the beholders only, but also from the prophet. For straightway Isaiah, that hath the fullest voice of all, as soon as he hath seen thee, will cry out, "These things saith the Lord against the princely daughters of …
