Synodal Russian Synodal Bible (1876)
RV1909 Reina-Valera 1909
106:2 ¿Quién expresará las valentías de Jehová? ¿[quién] contará sus alabanzas?
106:4 Acuérdate de mí, oh Jehová, según [tu] benevolencia para con tu pueblo: visítame con tu salud;
106:6 Pecamos con nuestros padres, hicimos iniquidad, hicimos impiedad.
9 Грозно рек морю Чермному, и оно иссохло; и провел их по безднам, как по суше;
13 Но скоро забыли дела Его, не дождались Его изволения;
19 Сделали тельца у Хорива и поклонились истукану;
106:21 Olvidaron al Dios de su salud, que había hecho grandezas en Egipto;
24 И презрели они землю желанную, не верили слову Его;
106:24 Empero aborrecieron la tierra deseable: no creyeron á su palabra;
106:32 También le irritaron en las aguas de Meriba: é hizo mal á Moisés por causa de ellos;
106:34 No destruyeron los pueblos que Jehová les dijo;
35 но смешались с язычниками и научились делам их;
37 и приносили сыновей своих и дочерей своих в жертву бесам;
106:37 Y sacrificaron sus hijos y sus hijas á los demonios;
38 проливали кровь невинную, кровь сыновей своих и дочерей своих, которых приносили в жертву идолам Ханаанским, - и осквернилась земля кровью;
45 и вспоминал завет Свой с ними и раскаивался по множеству милости Своей;
Aleluya.

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations). Verse numbers below follow the Hebrew/English numbering: 106.

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).

  1. Commentary Augustine of Hippo, Expositions on the Psalms (Psalm CV)

    This Psalm is the first of those to which is prefixed the word Allelujah; the meaning of which word, or rather two words, is, Praise the Lord. For this reason he beginneth with praises: "O confess unto the Lord, and call upon His Name" (ver.

These things found I there; but I fed not on them.

But Phinehas became a manslayer, and "it was counted unto him" (so He speaks) "for righteousness:" and Abraham again on becoming not a man-slayer only, but (which was far worse) the …
