BBE Biblia en inglés básico WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 Simon Peter, a servant and Apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who with us have a part in the same holy faith in the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ: 1 SIMÓN Pedro, siervo y apóstol de Jesucristo, á los que habéis alcanzado fe igualmente preciosa con nosotros en la justicia de nuestro Dios y Salvador Jesucristo:
1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:
2 May grace and peace ever be increasing in you, in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 2 Gracia y paz os sea multiplicada en el conocimiento de Dios, y de nuestro Señor Jesús.
2 Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
3 Because by his power he has given us everything necessary for life and righteousness, through the knowledge of him who has been our guide by his glory and virtue; 3 Como todas las cosas que pertenecen á la vida y á la piedad nos sean dadas de su divina potencia, por el conocimiento de aquel que nos ha llamado por su gloria y virtud:
3 seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue,
4 And through this he has given us the hope of great rewards highly to be valued; so that by them we might have our part in God's being, and be made free from the destruction which is in the world through the desires of the flesh.
4 by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.
5 So, for this very cause, take every care; joining virtue to faith, and knowledge to virtue, 5 Vosotros también, poniendo toda diligencia por esto mismo, mostrad en vuestra fe virtud, y en la virtud ciencia;
5 Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge;
6 And self-control to knowledge, and a quiet mind to self-control, and fear of God to a quiet mind, 6 Y en la ciencia templanza, y en la templanza paciencia, y en la paciencia temor de Dios;
6 and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control, perseverance; and in perseverance, godliness;
7 And love of the brothers to fear of God, and to love of the brothers, love itself.
7 and in godliness, brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love.
8 For if you have these things in good measure, they will make you fertile and full of fruit in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8 For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to not be idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 For the man who has not these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having no memory of how he was made clean from his old sins.
9 For he who lacks these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins.
10 For this reason, my brothers, take all the more care to make your selection and approval certain; for if you do these things you will never have a fall: 10 Por lo cual, hermanos, procurad tanto más de hacer firme vuestra vocación y elección; porque haciendo estas cosas, no caeréis jamás.
10 Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.
11 For so the way will be open to you into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
11 For thus you will be richly supplied with the entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
12 For this reason I will be ready at all times to keep your memory of these things awake, though you have the knowledge of them now and are well based in your present faith.
12 Therefore I will not be negligent to remind you of these things, though you know them and are established in the present truth.
13 And it seems right to me, as long as I am in this tent of flesh, to keep your minds awake by working on your memory; 13 Porque tengo por justo, en tanto que estoy en este tabernáculo, de incitaros con amonestación:
13 I think it right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you,
14 For I am conscious that in a short time I will have to put off this tent of flesh, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. 14 Sabiendo que brevemente tengo de dejar mi tabernáculo, como nuestro Señor Jesucristo me ha declarado.
14 knowing that the putting off of my tent comes swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.
15 And I will take every care so that you may have a clear memory of these things after my death.
15 Yes, I will make every effort that you may always be able to remember these things even after my departure.
16 For when we gave you news of the power and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, our teaching was not based on stories put together by art, but we were eye-witnesses of his glory.
16 For we didn’t follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
17 For God the Father gave him honour and glory, when such a voice came to him out of the great glory, saying, This is my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well pleased.
17 For he received from God the Father honor and glory when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
18 And this voice came from heaven even to our ears, when we were with him on the holy mountain.
18 We heard this voice come out of heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.
19 And so the words of the prophets are made more certain; and it is well for you to give attention to them as to a light shining in a dark place, till the dawn comes and the morning star is seen in your hearts; 19 Tenemos también la palabra profética más permanente, á la cual hacéis bien de estar atentos como á una antorcha que alumbra en lugar oscuro hasta que el día esclarezca, y el lucero de la mañana salga en vuestros corazones:
19 We have the more sure word of prophecy; and you do well that you heed it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts,
20 Being conscious in the first place that no man by himself may give a special sense to the words of the prophets. 20 Entendiendo primero esto, que ninguna profecía de la Escritura es de particular interpretación;
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation.
21 For these words did not ever come through the impulse of men: but the prophets had them from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
21 For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
