1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
1 Y FUÉ á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
1 Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
2 “Son of man, set your face against the sons of Ammon, and you shall prophesy about them.
2 Hijo del hombre, pon tu rostro hacia los hijos de Ammón, y profetiza sobre ellos.
2 “Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them.
3 And you shall say to the sons of Ammon: Listen to the word of the Lord God: Thus says the Lord God: Because you have said, ‘Well, well!’ over my sanctuary, when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel, when it was desolated, and over the house of Judah, when they were led into captivity,
3 Y dirás á los hijos de Ammón: Oid palabra del Señor Jehová. Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Por cuanto dijiste ¡Ea! acerca de mi santuario que fué profanado, y sobre la tierra de Israel que fué asolada, y sobre la casa de Judá, porque fueron en cautiverio;
3 Tell the children of Ammon, ‘Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh! The Lord Yahweh says, “Because you said, ‘Aha!’ against my sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into captivity,
4 therefore, I will deliver you to the sons of the East, as an inheritance. And they will arrange their fences within you, and they will place their tents within you. They will eat your crops, and they will drink your milk.
4 Por tanto, he aquí, yo te entrego á los Orientales por heredad, y pondrán en ti sus apriscos, y colocarán en ti sus tiendas: ellos comerán tus sementeras, y beberán tu leche.
4 therefore, behold, I will deliver you to the children of the east for a possession. They will set their encampments in you and make their dwellings in you. They will eat your fruit and they will drink your milk.
5 And I will make Rabbah into the habitation of camels, and the sons of Ammon into the resting place of cattle. And you shall know that I am the Lord.
5 Y pondré á Rabba por habitación de camellos, y á los hijos de Ammón por majada de ovejas; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.
5 I will make Rabbah a stable for camels and the children of Ammon a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”
6 For thus says the Lord God: Because you have clapped your hands and stomped your foot, and have rejoiced with all your heart against the land of Israel,
6 Porque así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Por cuanto tú batiste tus manos, y pateaste, y te gozaste del alma en todo tu menosprecio sobre la tierra de Israel;
6 For the Lord Yahweh says: “Because you have clapped your hands, stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the contempt of your soul against the land of Israel,
7 therefore, behold, I will extend my hand over you, and I will deliver you as a spoil of the Gentiles. And I will destroy you from the peoples, and I will perish you from the lands, and I will crush you. And you shall know that I am the Lord.
7 Por tanto, he aquí yo extenderé mi mano sobre ti, y te entregaré á las gentes para ser saqueada; y yo te cortaré de entre los pueblos, y te destruiré de entre las tierras: te raeré; y sabrás que yo soy Jehová.
7 therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand on you, and will deliver you for a plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries. I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”
8 Thus says the Lord God: Because Moab and Seir have said, ‘Behold, the house of Judah is like all the Gentiles!’
8 Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Por cuanto dijo Moab y Seir: He aquí la casa de Judá es como todas las gentes;
8 “‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Because Moab and Seir say, ‘Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations,’
9 therefore, behold, I will open the shoulder of Moab from the cities, from his cities, I say, and from his borders, the famous cities of the land of Beth-Jesimoth, and Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim,
9 Por tanto, he aquí yo abro el lado de Moab desde las ciudades, desde sus ciudades que están en su confín, las tierras deseables de Beth-jesimoth, y Baal-meón, y Chîriathaim,
9 therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on its frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim,
10 with the sons of Ammon, to the sons of the East, and I will give it to them as an inheritance, so that there may no longer be a remembrance of the sons of Ammon among the Gentiles.
10 A los hijos del oriente contra los hijos de Ammón; y entregaréla por heredad para que no haya más memoria de los hijos de Ammón entre las gentes.
10 to the children of the east, to go against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.
11 And I will execute judgments in Moab. And they shall know that I am the Lord.
11 También en Moab haré juicios; y sabrán que yo soy Jehová.
11 I will execute judgments on Moab. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”
12 Thus says the Lord God: Because Idumea has taken vengeance, so as to vindicate herself against the sons of Judah, and has sinned grievously, and has sought revenge against them,
12 Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Por lo que hizo Edom tomando venganza de la casa de Judá, pues delinquieron en extremo, y se vengaron de ellos;
12 “‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and taken revenge on them,”
13 therefore, thus says the Lord God: I will extend my hand over Idumea, and I will take from it both man and beast, and I will make it desolate from the south. And those who are in Dedan will fall by the sword.
13 Por tanto, así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Yo también extenderé mi mano sobre Edom, y talaré de ella hombres y bestias, y la asolaré: desde Temán y Dedán caerán á cuchillo.
13 therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman. They will fall by the sword even to Dedan.
14 And I will issue my vengeance upon Idumea, by the hand of my people, Israel. And they shall act in Idumea in accord with my wrath and my fury. And they shall know my vengeance, says the Lord God.
14 Y pondré mi venganza en Edom por la mano de mi pueblo Israel; y harán en Edom según mi enojo y según mi ira: y conocerán mi venganza, dice el Señor Jehová.
14 I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel. They will do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath. Then they will know my vengeance,” says the Lord Yahweh.
15 Thus says the Lord God: Because the Philistines have taken vengeance, and have revenged themselves with all their soul, destroying, and fulfilling ancient hostilities,
15 Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Por lo que hicieron los Palestinos con venganza, cuando se vengaron con despecho de ánimo, destruyendo por antiguas enemistades;
15 “‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Because the Philistines have taken revenge, and have taken vengeance with contempt of soul to destroy with perpetual hostility,”
16 because of this, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will extend my hand over the Philistines, and I will destroy those who destroy, and I will perish the remnant of the maritime regions.
16 Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí yo extiendo mi mano sobre los Palestinos, y talaré los Ceretheos, y destruiré el resto de la ribera de la mar.
16 therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “Behold, I will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.
17 And I will execute great vengeance against them, reproving them in fury. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I will send my vengeance upon them.”
17 Y haré en ellos grandes venganzas con reprensiones de ira; y sabrán que yo soy Jehová, cuando diere mi venganza en ellos.
17 I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I lay my vengeance on them.”’”
