1 Felices los que siguen un camino sin pecado y viven según la ley del Señor.
1 ALEPH Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to Yahweh’s law.
2 Felices los que guardan su palabra firme y lo buscan con todo el corazón.
2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart.
3 No hacen el mal, sino que siguen sus caminos.
3 Yes, they do nothing wrong. They walk in his ways.
4 Has puesto tus mandatos en nuestro corazón para que los cumplamos con cuidado.
4 You have commanded your precepts, that we should fully obey them.
5 ¡Ojalá mi conducta fuera firme para cumplir tus decretos!
5 Oh that my ways were steadfast to obey your statutes!
6 Entonces no sentiría vergüenza al respetar todas tus enseñanzas.
6 Then I wouldn’t be disappointed, when I consider all of your commandments.
7 Te alabaré con un corazón sincero mientras aprendo tus justos juicios.
7 I will give thanks to you with uprightness of heart, when I learn your righteous judgments.
8 Cumpliré tus decretos; no me abandones por completo.
8 I will observe your statutes. Don’t utterly forsake me. BETH
9 ¿Cómo puede un joven llevar una vida limpia? Guiándose por tu palabra.
9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.
10 Te he buscado con todo el corazón; no dejes que me aleje de tus enseñanzas.
10 With my whole heart I have sought you. Don’t let me wander from your commandments.
11 He guardado tus palabras en lo profundo de mi corazón para no pecar contra ti.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
12 Alabado seas, Señor; enséñame tus decretos.
12 Blessed are you, Yahweh. Teach me your statutes.
13 Con mis labios he anunciado todos los juicios que has pronunciado.
13 With my lips, I have declared all the ordinances of your mouth.
14 Me alegro al seguir tu palabra firme tanto como al tener todas las riquezas.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of your testimonies, as much as in all riches.
15 Meditaré en tus mandatos y respetaré tus caminos.
15 I will meditate on your precepts, and consider your ways.
16 Me alegraré en tus decretos; no olvidaré tu palabra.
16 I will delight myself in your statutes. I will not forget your word. GIMEL
17 Recompensa con vida a tu siervo, para que pueda cumplir tu palabra.
17 Do good to your servant. I will live and I will obey your word.
18 Abre mis ojos para que vea las maravillas de tu ley.
18 Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things out of your law.
19 Vivo en tierra extranjera; no me ocultes tus enseñanzas.
19 I am a stranger on the earth. Don’t hide your commandments from me.
20 Mi alma se consume deseando tus juicios en todo momento.
20 My soul is consumed with longing for your ordinances at all times.
21 Te has opuesto a los orgullosos; una maldición pesa sobre quienes se apartan de tu camino.
21 You have rebuked the proud who are cursed, who wander from your commandments.
22 Aparta de mí la vergüenza y los insultos, pues he guardado en mi corazón tu palabra firme.
22 Take reproach and contempt away from me, for I have kept your statutes.
23 Los gobernantes traman planes contra mí, pero tu siervo medita en tus decretos.
23 Though princes sit and slander me, your servant will meditate on your statutes.
24 Tu palabra firme es mi alegría y la guía de mis pasos.
24 Indeed your statutes are my delight, and my counselors. DALETH
25 Mi alma está pegada al polvo; dame vida conforme a tu palabra.
25 My soul is laid low in the dust. Revive me according to your word!
26 Te conté cómo he vivido y me respondiste; enséñame tus decretos.
26 I declared my ways, and you answered me. Teach me your statutes.
27 Hazme entender el camino de tus mandatos; así pensaré siempre en tus maravillas.
27 Let me understand the teaching of your precepts! Then I will meditate on your wondrous works.
28 Mi alma se consume de tristeza; devuélveme las fuerzas conforme a tu palabra.
28 My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.
29 Aleja de mí todo camino falso y, por tu misericordia, dame tu ley.
29 Keep me from the way of deceit. Grant me your law graciously!
30 He elegido el camino de la fidelidad; tengo presentes tus juicios.
30 I have chosen the way of truth. I have set your ordinances before me.
31 He sido fiel a tu palabra firme; Señor, no me avergüences.
31 I cling to your statutes, Yahweh. Don’t let me be disappointed.
32 Seguiré con rapidez el camino de tus enseñanzas, porque has dado libertad a mi corazón.
32 I run in the path of your commandments, for you have set my heart free. HE
33 Señor, muéstrame el camino de tus decretos y lo seguiré hasta el final.
33 Teach me, Yahweh, the way of your statutes. I will keep them to the end.
34 Dame sabiduría para cumplir tu ley y seguirla con todo el corazón.
34 Give me understanding, and I will keep your law. Yes, I will obey it with my whole heart.
35 Hazme seguir el camino de tus enseñanzas, pues son mi alegría.
35 Direct me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in them.
36 Vuelve mi corazón hacia tu palabra firme y no hacia los malos deseos.
36 Turn my heart toward your statutes, not toward selfish gain.
37 Aparta mis ojos de lo falso; dame vida en tus caminos.
37 Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things. Revive me in your ways.
38 Cumple tu palabra a tu siervo, que te teme de corazón.
38 Fulfill your promise to your servant, that you may be feared.
39 Aparta la vergüenza que tanto temo, pues tus juicios son buenos.
39 Take away my disgrace that I dread, for your ordinances are good.
40 Mira cuánto deseo tus mandatos; dame vida por tu justicia.
40 Behold, I long for your precepts! Revive me in your righteousness. VAV
41 Señor, que tu misericordia llegue a mí; sálvame como has dicho,
41 Let your loving kindness also come to me, Yahweh, your salvation, according to your word.
42 para que pueda responder a quien quiere avergonzarme, pues confío en tu palabra.
42 So I will have an answer for him who reproaches me, for I trust in your word.
43 No quites por completo de mi boca tu palabra verdadera, pues he puesto mi esperanza en tus juicios,
43 Don’t snatch the word of truth out of my mouth, for I put my hope in your ordinances.
44 para que cumpla tu ley por siempre y para siempre,
44 So I will obey your law continually, forever and ever.
45 para que camine por un lugar amplio, porque he buscado tus mandatos,
45 I will walk in liberty, for I have sought your precepts.
46 para que anuncie tu palabra firme ante los reyes sin sentir vergüenza,
46 I will also speak of your statutes before kings, and will not be disappointed.
47 para que me alegre en tus enseñanzas, que tanto amo,
47 I will delight myself in your commandments, because I love them.
48 y para que extienda mis manos hacia ti. Meditaré en tus decretos.
48 I reach out my hands for your commandments, which I love. I will meditate on your statutes. ZAYIN
49 Recuerda tu palabra a tu siervo, pues en ella he puesto mi esperanza.
49 Remember your word to your servant, because you gave me hope.
50 Este es mi consuelo en la angustia: tus palabras me han dado vida.
50 This is my comfort in my affliction, for your word has revived me.
51 Los orgullosos se han burlado mucho de mí, pero no me he apartado de tu ley.
51 The arrogant mock me excessively, but I don’t swerve from your law.
52 Señor, recuerdo tus juicios de tiempos antiguos y encuentro consuelo en ellos.
52 I remember your ordinances of old, Yahweh, and have comforted myself.
53 Ardo de ira por los pecadores que han abandonado tu ley.
53 Indignation has taken hold on me, because of the wicked who forsake your law.
54 Tus decretos han sido mis cantos mientras he vivido en tierras extranjeras.
54 Your statutes have been my songs in the house where I live.
55 Señor, de noche he pensado en tu nombre y he cumplido tu ley.
55 I have remembered your name, Yahweh, in the night, and I obey your law.
56 Así he vivido: he guardado tus mandatos en mi corazón.
56 This is my way, that I keep your precepts. HETH
57 El Señor es mi herencia; he dicho que viviría bajo la guía de tus palabras.
57 Yahweh is my portion. I promised to obey your words.
58 Me he propuesto hacer lo que te agrada con todo el corazón; ten misericordia de mí, como has dicho.
58 I sought your favor with my whole heart. Be merciful to me according to your word.
59 Reflexioné sobre mis pasos y volví mis pies al camino de tu palabra firme.
59 I considered my ways, and turned my steps to your statutes.
60 Me apresuré a cumplir tus mandatos sin perder tiempo.
60 I will hurry, and not delay, to obey your commandments.
61 Las cuerdas de los malvados me rodean, pero no he olvidado tu ley.
61 The ropes of the wicked bind me, but I won’t forget your law.
62 A medianoche me levantaré para alabarte por todos tus justos juicios.
62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks to you, because of your righteous ordinances.
63 Soy compañero de todos los que te adoran y recuerdan tus mandatos.
63 I am a friend of all those who fear you, of those who observe your precepts.
64 Señor, la tierra está llena de tu misericordia; enséñame tus decretos.
64 The earth is full of your loving kindness, Yahweh. Teach me your statutes. TETH
65 Señor, has tratado bien a tu siervo, conforme a tu palabra.
65 You have treated your servant well, according to your word, Yahweh.
66 Dame conocimiento y buen juicio, pues he confiado en tus enseñanzas.
66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments.
67 Antes de sufrir me apartaba del camino, pero ahora cumplo tu palabra.
67 Before I was afflicted, I went astray; but now I observe your word.
68 Tú eres bueno y tus obras son buenas; enséñame tus decretos.
68 You are good, and do good. Teach me your statutes.
69 Los orgullosos han dicho mentiras sobre mí, pero guardaré tus mandatos en mi corazón.
69 The proud have smeared a lie upon me. With my whole heart, I will keep your precepts.
70 Tienen el corazón insensible, pero yo me alegro en tu ley.
70 Their heart is as callous as the fat, but I delight in your law.
71 Me ha hecho bien pasar por dificultades, porque así he aprendido tus decretos.
71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn your statutes.
72 La ley que has pronunciado vale para mí más que miles de piezas de oro y plata.
72 The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. YODH
73 Tus manos me hicieron y me dieron forma; dame sabiduría para conocer tus enseñanzas.
73 Your hands have made me and formed me. Give me understanding, that I may learn your commandments.
74 Los que te adoran se alegrarán al verme, porque he puesto mi esperanza en tu palabra.
74 Those who fear you will see me and be glad, because I have put my hope in your word.
75 Señor, he visto que tus juicios son justos y que, por tu fidelidad, me has hecho sufrir.
75 Yahweh, I know that your judgments are righteous, that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
76 Que tu misericordia sea ahora mi consuelo, como le has dicho a tu siervo.
76 Please let your loving kindness be for my comfort, according to your word to your servant.
77 Que tu tierna misericordia llegue a mí para que viva, pues tu ley es mi alegría.
77 Let your tender mercies come to me, that I may live; for your law is my delight.
78 Que los orgullosos sean avergonzados, porque me han condenado con mentiras; pero yo meditaré en tus mandatos.
78 Let the proud be disappointed, for they have overthrown me wrongfully. I will meditate on your precepts.
79 Que vengan a mí los que te adoran y conocen tus palabras.
79 Let those who fear you turn to me. They will know your statutes.
80 Que todo mi corazón se dedique a tus mandatos, para que no sienta vergüenza.
80 Let my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be disappointed. KAPF
81 Mi alma se consume deseando tu salvación, pero tengo esperanza en tu palabra.
81 My soul faints for your salvation. I hope in your word.
82 Mis ojos se cansan de buscar tu palabra; digo: «¿Cuándo me consolarás?».
82 My eyes fail for your word. I say, “When will you comfort me?”
83 Me he vuelto como un odre ennegrecido por el humo, pero no he olvidado tus decretos.
83 For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke. I don’t forget your statutes.
84 ¡Qué corta es la vida de tu siervo! ¿Cuándo juzgarás a quienes me atacan?
84 How many are the days of your servant? When will you execute judgment on those who persecute me?
85 Los orgullosos, que se apartan de tu ley, me han tendido redes.
85 The proud have dug pits for me, contrary to your law.
86 Todas tus enseñanzas son seguras; me persiguen con malas intenciones. Ayúdame.
86 All of your commandments are faithful. They persecute me wrongfully. Help me!
87 Casi acabaron conmigo en la tierra, pero no abandoné tus mandatos.
87 They had almost wiped me from the earth, but I didn’t forsake your precepts.
88 Dame vida por tu misericordia, para que viva bajo la guía de la palabra firme que has pronunciado.
88 Preserve my life according to your loving kindness, so I will obey the statutes of your mouth. LAMEDH
89 Señor, tu palabra está establecida en el cielo para siempre.
89 Yahweh, your word is settled in heaven forever.
90 Tu fidelidad permanece de generación en generación; pusiste la tierra en su lugar y no se mueve.
90 Your faithfulness is to all generations. You have established the earth, and it remains.
91 Hoy siguen gobernados por tus juicios, pues todas las cosas te sirven.
91 Your laws remain to this day, for all things serve you.
92 Si tu ley no hubiera sido mi alegría, las dificultades habrían acabado conmigo.
92 Unless your law had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
93 Siempre recordaré tus mandatos, pues en ellos tengo vida.
93 I will never forget your precepts, for with them, you have revived me.
94 Soy tuyo; sálvame, pues he deseado tus decretos.
94 I am yours. Save me, for I have sought your precepts.
95 Los pecadores me acechan para destruirme, pero dedicaré toda mi atención a tu palabra firme.
95 The wicked have waited for me, to destroy me. I will consider your statutes.
96 He visto que nada en la tierra es completo, pero tu enseñanza es muy amplia.
96 I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your commands are boundless. MEM

97 How I love your law! It is my meditation all day.
98 Tu enseñanza me ha hecho más sabio que mis enemigos, porque es mía para siempre.
98 Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for your commandments are always with me.
99 Tengo más conocimiento que todos mis maestros, porque medito en tu palabra firme.
99 I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.
100 Tengo más sabiduría que los ancianos, porque he cumplido tus mandatos.
100 I understand more than the aged, because I have kept your precepts.
101 He apartado mis pies de todo mal camino para ser fiel a tu palabra.
101 I have kept my feet from every evil way, that I might observe your word.
102 Mi corazón no se ha alejado de tus juicios, pues tú has sido mi maestro.
102 I have not turned away from your ordinances, for you have taught me.
103 ¡Qué dulces son tus palabras a mi paladar! ¡Son más dulces que la miel en mi boca!
103 How sweet are your promises to my taste, more than honey to my mouth!
104 Por tus mandatos adquiero sabiduría; por eso odio todo camino falso.
104 Through your precepts, I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. NUN
105 Tu palabra es luz para mis pies; siempre alumbra mi camino.
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.
106 He jurado dejarme guiar por tus justos juicios y he cumplido mi juramento.
106 I have sworn, and have confirmed it, that I will obey your righteous ordinances.
107 Señor, estoy muy afligido; dame vida conforme a tu palabra.
107 I am afflicted very much. Revive me, Yahweh, according to your word.
108 Señor, acepta las ofrendas voluntarias de mi boca y enséñame tus juicios.
108 Accept, I beg you, the willing offerings of my mouth. Yahweh, teach me your ordinances.
109 Mi vida está siempre en peligro, pero no he olvidado tu ley.
109 My soul is continually in my hand, yet I won’t forget your law.
110 Los pecadores me tendieron una red, pero fui fiel a tus mandatos.
110 The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I haven’t gone astray from your precepts.
111 He recibido tu palabra firme como herencia eterna, pues es la alegría de mi corazón.
111 I have taken your testimonies as a heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.
112 Mi corazón está siempre dispuesto a cumplir tus decretos, hasta el final.
112 I have set my heart to perform your statutes forever, even to the end. SAMEKH
113 Odio a quienes tienen una mente llena de dudas, pero amo tu ley.
113 I hate double-minded men, but I love your law.

115 Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.

117 Hold me up, and I will be safe, and will have respect for your statutes continually.
118 Has vencido a todos los que se apartan de tus decretos, pues todos sus pensamientos son falsos.
118 You reject all those who stray from your statutes, for their deceit is in vain.
119 A tus ojos, todos los pecadores de la tierra son como metal de desecho; por eso amo tu palabra firme.
119 You put away all the wicked of the earth like dross. Therefore I love your testimonies.
120 Mi cuerpo tiembla de temor ante ti; honro tus juicios.
120 My flesh trembles for fear of you. I am afraid of your judgments. AYIN
121 He hecho lo bueno y lo justo; no me entregarás en manos de quienes actúan contra mí.
121 I have done what is just and righteous. Don’t leave me to my oppressors.
122 Cuida de los asuntos de tu siervo; no dejes que los orgullosos me aplasten.
122 Ensure your servant’s well-being. Don’t let the proud oppress me.
123 Mis ojos se cansan de esperar tu salvación y la palabra de tu justicia.
123 My eyes fail looking for your salvation, for your righteous word.
124 Trata bien a tu siervo por tu misericordia y enséñame tus decretos.
124 Deal with your servant according to your loving kindness. Teach me your statutes.
125 Soy tu siervo; dame sabiduría para conocer tu palabra firme.
125 I am your servant. Give me understanding, that I may know your testimonies.
126 Señor, es hora de que muestres tu obra, pues han dejado sin efecto tu ley.
126 It is time to act, Yahweh, for they break your law.
127 Por eso amo tus enseñanzas mucho más que el oro, aun el oro brillante.
127 Therefore I love your commandments more than gold, yes, more than pure gold.
128 Por ellas sigo un camino recto en todo, conforme a tus mandatos; odio todo camino falso.
128 Therefore I consider all of your precepts to be right. I hate every false way. PE
129 Tu palabra firme es maravillosa; por eso mi alma la guarda.
129 Your testimonies are wonderful, therefore my soul keeps them.
130 Cuando se dan a conocer tus palabras, traen luz y dan buen juicio a los sencillos.
130 The entrance of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple.
131 Abrí mucho la boca, esperando con gran deseo tus enseñanzas.
131 I opened my mouth wide and panted, for I longed for your commandments.
132 Mírame y ten misericordia de mí, como corresponde que hagas con quienes aman tu nombre.
132 Turn to me, and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name.
133 Guía mis pasos con tu palabra; no dejes que el pecado me domine.
133 Establish my footsteps in your word. Don’t let any iniquity have dominion over me.
134 Líbrame del cruel dominio humano; entonces cumpliré tus mandatos.
134 Redeem me from the oppression of man, so I will observe your precepts.
135 Que tu siervo vea el resplandor de tu rostro; enséñame tus decretos.
135 Make your face shine on your servant. Teach me your statutes.
136 De mis ojos corren ríos de lágrimas, porque la gente no cumple tu ley.
136 Streams of tears run down my eyes, because they don’t observe your law. TZADHE
137 Señor, grande es tu justicia y justos son tus juicios.
137 You are righteous, Yahweh. Your judgments are upright.
138 Has dado tu palabra firme con justicia, y permanece para siempre.
138 You have commanded your statutes in righteousness. They are fully trustworthy.
139 Mi pasión me consume, porque mis enemigos se apartan de tus palabras.
139 My zeal wears me out, because my enemies ignore your words.
140 Tu palabra tiene un valor probado; tu siervo la ama.
140 Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.
141 Soy pequeño y nadie me toma en cuenta, pero recuerdo tus mandatos.
141 I am small and despised. I don’t forget your precepts.
142 Tu justicia permanece para siempre; tu ley es segura.
142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness. Your law is truth.
143 El dolor y la angustia me han vencido, pero tus enseñanzas son mi alegría.
143 Trouble and anguish have taken hold of me. Your commandments are my delight.
144 La justicia de tu palabra firme es eterna; dame sabiduría para que viva.
144 Your testimonies are righteous forever. Give me understanding, that I may live. QOPH

148 My eyes stay open through the night watches, that I might meditate on your word.
149 Escucha mi voz por tu misericordia; Señor, dame vida conforme a tus juicios.
149 Hear my voice according to your loving kindness. Revive me, Yahweh, according to your ordinances.
150 Se acercan quienes traman planes contra mí; están lejos de tu ley.
150 They draw near who follow after wickedness. They are far from your law.
151 Tú estás cerca, Señor; todas tus enseñanzas son verdaderas.
151 You are near, Yahweh. All your commandments are truth.
152 Desde hace mucho sé que tu palabra firme permanece para siempre.
152 Of old I have known from your testimonies, that you have founded them forever. RESH
153 Mira mi angustia y sálvame, pues no olvido tu ley.
153 Consider my affliction, and deliver me, for I don’t forget your law.
154 Defiende mi causa y ven a ayudarme; dame vida como has dicho.
154 Plead my cause, and redeem me! Revive me according to your promise.
155 La salvación está lejos de los malvados, pues no han buscado tus decretos.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked, for they don’t seek your statutes.
156 Señor, son muchas tus muestras de misericordia; dame vida conforme a tus juicios.
156 Great are your tender mercies, Yahweh. Revive me according to your ordinances.
157 Son muchos los que están contra mí, pero no me he apartado de tu palabra firme.
157 Many are my persecutors and my adversaries. I haven’t swerved from your testimonies.
158 Miré con odio a quienes te fueron infieles, pues no cumplían tu palabra.
158 I look at the faithless with loathing, because they don’t observe your word.
159 Mira cuánto amo tus mandatos; Señor, dame vida por tu misericordia.
159 Consider how I love your precepts. Revive me, Yahweh, according to your loving kindness.
160 Tu palabra es verdadera desde el principio; tu justo juicio permanece para siempre.
160 All of your words are truth. Every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever. SIN AND SHIN
161 Los gobernantes han sido crueles conmigo sin motivo, pero mi corazón teme tu palabra.
161 Princes have persecuted me without a cause, but my heart stands in awe of your words.
162 Me alegro en tu palabra como quien encuentra grandes riquezas.
162 I rejoice at your word, as one who finds great plunder.
163 Odio y detesto las palabras falsas, pero amo tu ley.
163 I hate and abhor falsehood. I love your law.
164 Siete veces al día te alabo por tus justos juicios.
164 Seven times a day, I praise you, because of your righteous ordinances.
165 Quienes aman tu ley tienen mucha paz; no hay nada que los haga caer.
165 Those who love your law have great peace. Nothing causes them to stumble.

Cómo se eligieron

«Comentario» es el comienzo de una homilía o exposición sobre este capítulo (homilías de san Juan Crisóstomo; tratados, sermones y comentarios a los Salmos de san Agustín). «Cita» es una frase en la que las notas de la propia edición identifican la cita de un versículo de este capítulo; solo se conserva si el texto coincide con el versículo. Solo se usan obras de autoría segura. Los Salmos siguen la numeración hebrea (Agustín usa la de los Setenta: su Salmo 50 es aquí el 51).
