1 And the sons of Juda; Phares, Esrom, and Charmi, and Or, Subal,
1 LOS hijos de Judá: Phares, Hesrón, Carmi, Hur, y Sobal.
2 and Rada his son; and Subal begot Jeth; and Jeth begot Achimai, and Laad: these [are] the generations of the Arathites.
2 Y Reaias hijo de Sobal, engendró á Jahath; y Jahath engendró á Ahumai y á Laad. Estas son las familias de los Sorathitas.
3 And these [are] the sons of Ætam; Jezrael and Jesman, and Jebdas: and their sister's name [was] Eselebbon.
3 Y estas son las del padre de Etham: Jezreel, Isma, é Ibdas. Y el nombre de su hermana fué Haslelponi.
4 And Phanuel the father of Gedor, and Jazer the father of Osan: these [are] the sons of Or, the first-born of Ephratha, the father of Bæthalaen.
4 Y Penuel [fué] padre de Gedor, y Ezer padre de Husa. Estos fueron los hijos de Hur, primogénito de Ephrata, padre de Beth-lehem.
5 And Asur the father of Thecoe had two wives, Aoda and Thoada.
5 Y Asur padre de Tecoa tuvo dos mujeres, [á saber], Helea, y Naara.
6 And Aoda bore to him Ochaia, and Ephal, and Thæman, and Aasther: all these [were] the sons of Aoda.
6 Y Naara le parió á Auzam, y á Hepher, á Themeni, y á Ahastari. Estos fueron los hijos de Naara.
7 And the sons of Thoada; Sereth, and Saar, and Esthanam.
7 Y los hijos de Helea: Sereth, Jesohar, Ethnán.
8 And Coe begot Enob, and Sabatha, and the progeny of the brother of Rechab, the son of Jarin.
8 Y Cos engendró á Anob, y á Sobeba, y la familia de Aharhel hijo de Arum.
9 And Igabes was more famous than his brethren; and his mother called his name Igabes, saying, I have born as a sorrowful one.
9 Y Jabes fué más ilustre que sus hermanos, al cual su madre llamó Jabes, diciendo: Por cuanto le parí en dolor.
10 And Igabes called on the God of Israel, saying, O that thou wouldest indeed bless me, and enlarge my coasts, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest make me know that thou wilt not grieve me! And God granted him all that he asked.
10 E invocó Jabes al Dios de Israel, diciendo: ¡Oh si me dieras bendición, y ensancharas mi término, y si tu mano fuera conmigo, y me libraras de mal, que no me dañe! E hizo Dios que le viniese lo que pidió.
11 And Chaleb the father of Ascha begot Machir; he [was] the father of Assathon.
11 Y Caleb hermano de Sua engendró á Machîr, el cual fué padre de Esthón.
12 He begot Bathraias, and Besseë, and Thæman the founder of the city of Naas the brother of Eselom the Kenezite: these [were] the men of Rechab.
12 Y Esthón engendró á Beth-rapha, á Phasea, y á Tehinna, padre de la ciudad de Naas: estos son los varones de Rechâ.
13 And the sons of Kenez; Gothoniel, and Saraia: and the sons of Gothoniel; Athath.
13 Los hijos de Cenes: Othniel, y Seraiah. Los hijos de Othniel: Hathath,
14 And Manathi begot Gophera: and Saraia begot Jobab, the father of Ageaddair, for they were artificers.
14 Y Maonathi, el cual engendró á Ophra: y Seraiah engendró á Joab, padre de [los habitantes] en el valle [llamado de] Carisim, porque fueron artífices.
15 And the sons of Chaleb the son of Jephonne; Er, Ada, and Noom: and the sons of Ada, Kenez.
15 Los hijos de Caleb hijo de Jephone: Iru, Ela, y Naham; é hijo de Ela, [fué] Cenez.
16 And the sons of Aleel, Zib, and Zepha, and Thiria, and Eserel.
16 Los hijos de Jaleleel: Zip, Ziphas, Tirias, y Asareel.
17 And the sons of Esri; Jether, Morad, and Apher, and Jamon: and Jether begot Maron, and Semei, and Jesba the father of Esthæmon.
17 Y los hijos de Ezra: Jeter, Mered, Epher, y Jalón: también engendró á Mariam, y Sammai, y á Isba, padre de Esthemoa.
18 And his wife, that [is] Adia, bore Jared the father of Gedor, and Aber the father of Sochon, and Chetiel the father of Zamon: and these [are] the sons of Betthia the daughter of Pharao, whom Mored took.
18 Y su mujer Judaía le parió á Jered padre de Gedor, y á Heber padre de Sochô, y á Icuthiel padre de Zanoa. Estos fueron los hijos de Bethia hija de Faraón, con la cual casó Mered.
19 And the sons of the wife of Iduia the sister of Nachaim the father of Keila; Garmi, and Esthæmon the Nochathite.
19 Y los hijos de la mujer de Odías, hermana de Naham, [fueron] el padre de Keila de Garmi, y Esthemoa de Maachâti.
20 And the sons of Semon; Amnon, and Ana the son of Phana, and Inon: and the sons of Sei, Zoan, and the sons of Zoab.
20 Y los hijos de Simón: Amnón, y Rinna, hijo de Hanán, y Tilón. Y los hijos de Isi: Zoheth, y Benzoheth.
21 The sons of Selom the son of Juda; Er the father of Lechab, and Laada the father of Marisa, and the offspring of the family of Ephrathabac [belonging to] the house of Esoba.
21 Los hijos de Sela, hijo de Judá: Er, padre de Lechâ, y Laada, padre de Maresa, y de la familia de la casa del oficio del lino en la casa de Asbea;
22 And Joakim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joas, and Saraph, who dwelt in Moab, and he changed their names to Abederin and Athukiim.
22 Y Joacim, y los varones de Chôzeba, y Joas, y Saraph, los cuales moraron en Moab, y Jasubi-lehem, que son palabras antiguas.
23 These [are] the potters who dwelt in Ataim and Gadira with the king: they grew strong in his kingdom, and dwelt there.
23 Estos fueron alfareros y se hallaban en medio de plantíos y cercados, los cuales moraron allá con el rey en su obra.
24 The sons of Semeon; Namuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zares, Saul:
24 Los hijos de Simeón: Nemuel, Jamín, Jarib, Zera, Saúl;
25 Salem his son, Mabasam his son, Masma his son:
25 También Sallum su hijo, Mibsam su hijo, y Misma su hijo.
26 Amuel his son, Sabud his son, Zacchur his son, Semei his son.
26 Los hijos de Misma: Hamuel su hijo, Zachûr su hijo, y Simi su hijo.
27 Semei [had] sixteen sons, and six daughters; and his brethren had not many sons, neither did all their families multiply as the sons of Juda.
27 Los hijos de Simi fueron diez y seis, y seis hijas: mas sus hermanos no tuvieron muchos hijos, ni multiplicaron toda su familia como los hijos de Judá.
28 And they dwelt in Bersabee, and Molada, and in Esersual,
28 Y habitaron en Beer-seba, y en Molada, y en Hasar-sual,
29 and in Balaa, and in Æsem, and in Tholad,
29 Y en Bala, y en Esem, y en Tholad,
30 and in Bathuel, and in Herma, and in Sikelag,
30 Y en Bethuel, y en Horma, y en Siclag,
31 and in Bæthmarimoth, and Hemisuseosin, and the house of Baruseorim: these [were] their cities until [the time of] king David.
31 Y en Beth-marchâboth, y en Hasasusim, y en Beth-birai, y en Saaraim. Estas fueron sus ciudades hasta el reino de David.
32 And their villages [were] Ætan, and En, Remnon, and Thocca, and Æsar, five cities.
32 Y sus aldeas fueron Etam, Ain, Rimmón, y Tochên, y Asán, cinco pueblos;
33 And all their villages [were] round about these cities, as far as Baal: this [was] their possession, and their distribution.
33 Y todos su villajes que estaban en contorno de estas ciudades hasta Baal. Esta fué su habitación, y esta su descendencia.
34 And Mosobab, and Jemoloch, and Josia the son of Amasia;
34 Y Mesobab, y Jamlech, y Josías hijo de Amasías;
35 and Joel, and Jeu the son of Asabia, the son of Sarau, the son of Asiel;
35 Joel, y Jehú hijo de Josibias, hijo de Seraíah, hijo de Aziel;
36 and Elionai, and Jocaba, and Jasuia, and Asaia, and Jediel, and Ismael, and Banaias;
36 Y Elioenai, Jacoba, Jesohaía, Asaías, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaías;
37 and Zuza the son of Saphai, the son of Alon, the son of Jedia, the son of Semri, the son of Samaias.
37 Y Ziza hijo de Siphi, hijo de Allón, hijo de Jedaía, hijo de Simri, hijo de Semaías.
38 These went by the names of princes in their families, and they increased abundantly in their fathers' households.
38 Estos por sus nombres son los principales que vinieron en sus familias, y que fueron multiplicados muy mucho en las casas de sus padres.
39 And they went till they came to Gerara, to the east of Gai, to seek pasture for their cattle.
39 Y llegaron hasta la entrada de Gador hasta el oriente del valle, buscando pastos para sus ganados.
40 And they found abundant and good pastures, and the land before them [was] wide, and [there was] peace and quietness; for [there were] some of the children of Cham who dwelt there before.
40 Y hallaron gruesos y buenos pastos, y tierra ancha y espaciosa, y quieta y reposada, porque los de Châm la habitaban de antes.
41 And these who are written by name came in the days of Ezekias king of Juda, and they smote the people's houses, and the Minæans whom they found there, and utterly destroyed them until this day: and they dwelt in their place, because [there was] pasture there for their cattle.
41 Y estos que han sido escritos por [sus] nombres, vinieron en días de Ezechîas rey de Judá, y desbarataron sus tiendas y estancias que allí hallaron, y destruyéronlos, hasta hoy, y habitaron allí en lugar de ellos; por cuanto había allí pastos para sus ganados.
42 And some of them, [even] of the sons of Symeon, went to mount Seir, [even] five hundred men; and Phalaettia, and Noadia, and Raphaia, and Oziel, sons of Jesi, [were] their rulers.
42 Y asimismo quinientos hombres de ellos, de los hijos de Simeón, se fueron al monte de Seir, llevando por capitanes á Pelatía, y á Nearías, y á Rephaías, y á Uzziel, hijos de Isi;
43 And they smote the remnant that were left of Amalec, until this day.
43 E hirieron á las reliquias que habían quedado de Amalec, y habitaron allí hasta hoy.
