WEB World English Bible (Classic, with Deuterocanon) 1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all meeting together in one place. 1 Y COMO se cumplieron los días de Pentecostés, estaban todos unánimes juntos;
1 Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 Suddenly a noise came from heaven like a roaring wind that filled the whole house where they were staying. 2 Y de repente vino un estruendo del cielo como de un viento recio que corría, el cual hinchió toda la casa donde estaban sentados;
2 Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 They saw what looked like separate tongue-shaped flames that settled on each of them.
3 Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them.
4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages as the Spirit gave them the ability to do so. 4 Y fueron todos llenos del Espíritu Santo, y comenzaron á hablar en otras lenguas, como el Espíritu les daba que hablasen.
4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
5 At that time there were devout Jews from every nation on earth living in Jerusalem.
5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.
6 When they heard this noise, a large crowd of them gathered. They were puzzled because everyone heard their own language being spoken.
6 When this sound was heard, the multitude came together and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.
7 They were totally amazed, saying, “Look, these people who are speaking—aren't they all Galileans? 7 Y estaban atónitos y maravillados, diciendo: He aquí ¿no son Galileos todos estos que hablan?
7 They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Behold, aren’t all these who speak Galileans?
8 So how is it that we can all hear them speaking in our own mother tongue?
8 How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?
9 Parthians, Medes and Elamites; people from Mesopotamia, Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 9 Partos y Medos, y Elamitas, y los que habitamos en Mesopotamia, en Judea y en Capadocia, en el Ponto y en Asia,
9 Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,
10 Phrygia and Pamphylia; from Egypt and the area of Libya around Cyrene; visitors from Rome, both Jews and converts, 10 En Phrygia y Pamphylia, en Egipto y en las partes de Africa que está de la otra parte de Cirene, y Romanos extranjeros, tanto Judíos como convertidos,
10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11 Cretans and Arabians—we hear them speaking in our own languages about all the great things God has done.” 11 Cretenses y Arabes, les oímos hablar en nuestras lenguas las maravillas de Dios.
11 Cretans and Arabians—we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!”
12 They were all amazed and confused. “What does this mean?” they asked each other.
12 They were all amazed and were perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”
13 But others jeered and said, “They've been drinking too much wine!” 13 Mas otros burlándose, decían: Que están llenos de mosto.
13 Others, mocking, said, “They are filled with new wine.”
14 Then Peter stood up with the eleven disciples and spoke in a loud voice: “Fellow Jews and everyone living here in Jerusalem: pay attention to me and I'll explain all this to you! 14 Entonces Pedro, poniéndose en pie con los once, alzó su voz, y hablóles diciendo: Varones Judíos, y todos los que habitáis en Jerusalem, esto os sea notorio, y oid mis palabras.
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and spoke out to them, “You men of Judea and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15 These men aren't drunk as you presume. It's only nine in the morning! 15 Porque éstos no están borrachos, como vosotros pensáis, siendo la hora tercia del día;
15 For these aren’t drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day.
16 What's happening is what was predicted by the prophet Joel: 16 Mas esto es lo que fué dicho por el profeta Joel:
16 But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:
17 God says, ‘In the last days I will pour out my Spirit on everyone. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.
17 ‘It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.
18 I will pour out my Spirit on my servants, both male and female, and they will prophesy.
18 Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy.
19 I will also give you miraculous signs in the heavens above and on the earth below—blood, fire, and swirling smoke!
19 I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath: blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will become dark, and the moon will become red like blood before the great and glorious day of the Lord. 20 El sol se volverá en tinieblas, y la luna en sangre, antes que venga el día del Señor, grande y manifiesto;
20 The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 But whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ 21 Y será que todo aquel que invocare el nombre del Señor, será salvo.
21 It will be that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
22 People of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man confirmed by God to you by the powerful miracles and signs that God performed through him, right here among you—as you well know. 22 Varones Israelitas, oid estas palabras: Jesús Nazareno, varón aprobado de Dios entre vosotros en maravillas y prodigios y señales, que Dios hizo por él en medio de vosotros, como también vosotros sabéis;
22 “Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him among you, even as you yourselves know,
23 God, knowing beforehand what would happen, followed his plan and resolved to hand him over to you. By means of the hands of wicked men, you killed him by nailing him to a cross. 23 A éste, entregado por determinado consejo y providencia de Dios, prendisteis y matasteis por manos de los inicuos, crucificándole;
23 him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;
24 But God raised him back to life, freeing him from the burden of death, because death did not have the power to keep him a prisoner.
24 whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
25 David says of him, ‘I saw the Lord always in front of me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. 25 Porque David dice de él: Veía al Señor siempre delante de mí: porque está á mi diestra, no seré conmovido.
25 For David says concerning him, ‘I saw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
26 That's why I'm so happy! That's why my words are full of joy! That's why my body lives in hope! 26 Por lo cual mi corazón se alegró, y gozóse mi lengua; y aun mi carne descansará en esperanza;
26 Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope,
27 For you will not abandon me in the grave, nor will you allow your Holy One to experience decay.
27 because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.
28 You have revealed to me the ways of life. You will fill me with joy with your presence.’ 28 Hicísteme notorios los caminos de la vida; me henchirás de gozo con tu presencia.
28 You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
29 My brothers and sisters, let me tell you plainly that our ancestor David died and was buried, and his tomb is here with us to this day.
29 “Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30 But he was a prophet, and knew that God had promised on oath to place one of his descendants on his throne. 30 Empero siendo profeta, y sabiendo que con juramento le había Dios jurado que del fruto de su lomo, cuanto á la carne, levantaría al Cristo que se sentaría sobre su trono;
30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
31 David saw what would happen and spoke about the resurrection of Christ—for Christ was not abandoned to the grave nor did he experience decay.
31 he foreseeing this, spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that his soul wasn’t left in Hades, and his flesh didn’t see decay.
32 God has raised this Jesus from the dead, and we're all witnesses of that.
32 This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses.
33 Now he's been exalted to God's right hand, and has received from the Father the Holy Spirit whom he promised, and has poured out what you're seeing and hearing.
33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which you now see and hear.
34 For David didn't ascend into heaven, but he did say: The Lord told my Lord, ‘Sit down here at my right hand 34 Porque David no subió á los cielos; empero él dice: Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra,
34 For David didn’t ascend into the heavens, but he says himself, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit by my right hand
35 until I have made your enemies a stool to put your feet on.’ 35 Hasta que ponga á tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies.
35 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’
36 Now let everyone in Israel be totally convinced of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you killed on a cross, both Lord and Messiah!” 36 Sepa pues ciertísimamente toda la casa de Israel, que á éste Jesús que vosotros crucificasteis, Dios ha hecho Señor y Cristo.
36 “Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
37 When the people heard this they were conscience-stricken. They asked Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 37 Entonces oído [esto], fueron compungidos de corazón, y dijeron á Pedro y á los otros apóstoles: Varones hermanos, ¿qué haremos?
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 “Repent!” Peter told them. “All of you must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 38 Y Pedro les dice: Arrepentíos, y bautícese cada uno de vosotros en el nombre de Jesucristo para perdón de los pecados; y recibiréis el don del Espíritu Santo.
38 Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 This promise is given to you, to your children, and to all who are far away—everyone the Lord our God calls.” 39 Porque para vosotros es la promesa, y para vuestros hijos, y para todos los que están lejos; [para] cuantos el Señor nuestro Dios llamare.
39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”
40 Peter went on speaking, giving them much more evidence. He warned them, “Save yourselves from this perverted generation.” 40 Y con otras muchas palabras testificaba y exhortaba, diciendo: Sed salvos de esta perversa generación.
40 With many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”
41 Those who accepted what he'd said were baptized, adding about three thousand people to the group of believers that day.
41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.
42 They committed themselves to what the apostles had taught them, and to the fellowship of the believers, “breaking bread” and praying together.
42 They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.
43 Everyone was in awe, and many miracles and signs were done through the apostles.
43 Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
44 All the believers were together and shared everything they had. 44 Y todos los que creían estaban juntos; y tenían todas las cosas comunes;
44 All who believed were together, and had all things in common.
45 They sold their property and belongings, sharing the proceeds with everyone as they needed.
45 They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.
46 Day after day they continued to meet together in the Temple, and ate together in their homes. They enjoyed their meals humbly and happily. They praised God, and everyone thought favorably of them.
46 Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.
47 praising God and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.
