VUL Clementine Vulgate
RV1909 Reina-Valera 1909
1 TAMBIÉN digo: Entre tanto que el heredero es niño, en nada difiere del siervo, aunque es señor de todo;
4 At ubi venit plenitudo temporis, misit Deus Filium suum factum ex muliere, factum sub lege,
6 Quoniam autem estis filii, misit Deus Spiritum Filii sui in corda vestra, clamantem: Abba, Pater.
10 Dies observatis, et menses, et tempora, et annos.
10 Guardáis los días, y los meses, y los tiempos, y los años.
11 Timeo vos, ne forte sine causa laboraverim in vobis.
12 Estote sicut ego, quia et ego sicut vos: fratres, obsecro vos. Nihil me læsistis.
16 Ergo inimicus vobis factus sum, verum dicens vobis?
16 ¿Heme pues hecho vuestro enemigo, diciéndoos la verdad?
19 Filioli mei, quos iterum parturio, donec formetur Christus in vobis:
19 Hijitos míos, que vuelvo otra vez á estar de parto de vosotros, hasta que Cristo sea formado en vosotros;
Unum quidem in monte Sina, in servitutem generans, quæ est Agar:

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).

For in reference to these points, and others of a like nature, the apostle exclaims: …
