BBE Biblia en inglés básico WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) PT1904 Texto Patriarcal 1904 (acentuado, edición de eBible) 1◆ But Jesus went to the Mountain of Olives. 1 but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2◆ And early in the morning he came again into the Temple and all the people came to him and he was seated teaching them. 2 Now very early in the morning, he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him. He sat down and taught them.
3◆ Now the scribes and Pharisees came, with a woman who had been taken in the act of sinning against the married relation; 3 The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman taken in adultery. Having set her in the middle,
4◆ And putting her forward, they said to him, Master, this woman has been taken in the very act of sinning against the married relation. 4 they told him, “Teacher, we found this woman in adultery, in the very act.
5◆ Now in the law Moses gave directions that such women were to be stoned; what do you say about it? 5 Now in our law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. What then do you say about her?”
6◆ They said this, testing him, so that they might have something against him. But Jesus, with his head bent down, made letters on the floor with his finger. 6 They said this testing him, that they might have something to accuse him of. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with his finger.
7◆ But when they went on with their questions, he got up and said to them, Let him among you who is without sin be the first to send a stone at her. 7 But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.”
8◆ And again, with bent head, he made letters on the floor. 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground with his finger.
9◆ And when his words came to their ears, they went out one by one, starting with the oldest even to the last, because they were conscious of what was in their hearts: and Jesus was there by himself with the woman before him. 9 They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last. Jesus was left alone with the woman where she was, in the middle.
10◆ Then Jesus got up, and seeing nobody but the woman, he said to her, Where are the men who said things against you? did no one give a decision against you? 10 Jesus, standing up, saw her and said, “Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?”
10 ἀνακύψας δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῇ· γύναι, ποῦ εἰσιν; οὐδείς σε κατέκρινεν;
11◆ And she said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said, And I do not give a decision against you: go, and never do wrong again.] 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more.”
12 Then again Jesus said to them, I am the light of the world; he who comes with me will not be walking in the dark but will have the light of life. 12 Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
13 So the Pharisees said to him, The witness you give is about yourself: your witness is not true. 13 The Pharisees therefore said to him, “You testify about yourself. Your testimony is not valid.”
14 Jesus said in answer, Even if I give witness about myself, my witness is true, because I have knowledge of where I came from and where I am going; but you have no knowledge of where I come from or of where I am going. 14 Jesus answered them, “Even if I testify about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from, and where I am going; but you don’t know where I came from, or where I am going.
15 You are judging from what you see; I am judging no man. 15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.
16 Even if I am judging, my decision is right, because I am not by myself — with me is the Father who sent me. 16 Even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent me.
17 Even in your law it is said that the witness of two men is true. 17 It’s also written in your law that the testimony of two people is valid.
18 I give witness about myself and the Father who sent me gives witness about me. 18 I am one who testifies about myself, and the Father who sent me testifies about me.”
19 Then they said to him, Where is your Father? Jesus said in answer, You have no knowledge of me or of my Father: if you had knowledge of me you would have knowledge of my Father. 19 They said therefore to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”
20 Jesus said these words in the place where the offerings were stored, while he was teaching in the Temple: but no man took him because his time was still to come. 20 Jesus spoke these words in the treasury, as he taught in the temple. Yet no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.
21 Then he said to them again, I am going away and you will be looking for me, but death will overtake you in your sins. It is not possible for you to come where I am going. 21 Jesus said therefore again to them, “I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sins. Where I go, you can’t come.”
22 So the Jews said, Will he take his life? Is that why he says, Where I go it is not possible for you to come? 22 The Jews therefore said, “Will he kill himself, because he says, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come’?”
22 ἔλεγον οὖν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι· μήτι ἀποκτενεῖ ἑαυτόν, ὅτι λέγει, ὅπου ἐγὼ ὑπάγω, ὑμεῖς οὐ δύνασθε ἐλθεῖν;
23 And he said to them, You are of the earth; I am from heaven: you are of this world; I am not of this world. 23 He said to them, “You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.
24 For this reason I said to you that death will overtake you in your sins: for if you have not faith that I am he, death will come to you while you are in your sins. 24 I said therefore to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”
25 Then they said to him, Who are you? Jesus said, What I said to you from the first. 25 They said therefore to him, “Who are you?” Jesus said to them, “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.
26 I have much to say about you and against you: but he who sent me is true and what he has said to me I say to the world. 26 I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you. However, he who sent me is true; and the things which I heard from him, these I say to the world.”
27 They did not see that his words were about the Father. 27 They didn’t understand that he spoke to them about the Father.
28 So Jesus said, When the Son of man has been lifted up by you, then it will be clear to you who I am, and that I do nothing of myself, but say as the Father gave me teaching. 28 Jesus therefore said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing of myself, but as my Father taught me, I say these things.
29 He who sent me is with me; he has not gone from me, because at all times I do the things which are pleasing to him. 29 He who sent me is with me. The Father hasn’t left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”
30 When he said this a number came to have faith in him. 30 As he spoke these things, many believed in him.
31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who had faith in him, If you keep my word, then you are truly my disciples; 31 Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples.
32 And you will have knowledge of what is true, and that will make you free. 32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
33 They said to him in answer, We are Abraham's seed and have never been any man's servant: why do you say, You will become free? 33 They answered him, “We are Abraham’s offspring, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, ‘You will be made free’?”
33 ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτῷ· σπέρμα Ἀβραάμ ἐσμεν καὶ οὐδενὶ δεδουλεύκαμεν πώποτε· πῶς σὺ λέγεις ὅτι ἐλεύθεροι γενήσεσθε;
34 And this was the answer Jesus gave them: Truly I say to you, Everyone who does evil is the servant of sin. 34 Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin.
35 Now the servant does not go on living in the house for ever, but the son does. 35 A bondservant doesn’t live in the house forever. A son remains forever.
36 If then the son makes you free, you will be truly free. 36 If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
37 I am conscious that you are Abraham's seed; but you have a desire to put me to death because my word has no place in you. 37 I know that you are Abraham’s offspring, yet you seek to kill me, because my word finds no place in you.
38 I say the things which I have seen in my Father's house: and you do the things which come to you from your father's house. 38 I say the things which I have seen with my Father; and you also do the things which you have seen with your father.”
39 In answer they said to him, Our father is Abraham. Jesus said to them, If you were Abraham's children you would do what Abraham did. 39 They answered him, “Our father is Abraham.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.
40 But now you have a desire to put me to death, a man who has said to you what is true, as I had it from God: Abraham did not do that. 40 But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham didn’t do this.
41 You are doing the works of your father. They said to him, We are true sons of Abraham; we have one Father, who is God. 41 You do the works of your father.” They said to him, “We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father, God.”
42 Jesus said to them, If God was your Father you would have love for me, because it was from God I came and am here. I did not come of myself, but he sent me. 42 Therefore Jesus said to them, “If God were your father, you would love me, for I came out and have come from God. For I haven’t come of myself, but he sent me.
43 Why are my words not clear to you? It is because your ears are shut to my teaching. 43 Why don’t you understand my speech? Because you can’t hear my word.
44 You are the children of your father the Evil One and it is your pleasure to do his desires. From the first he was a taker of life; and he did not go in the true way because there is no true thing in him. When he says what is false, it is natural to him, for he is false and the father of what is false. 44 You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn’t stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of lies.
45 But because I say what is true, you have no belief in me. 45 But because I tell the truth, you don’t believe me.
46 Which of you is able truly to say that I am a sinner? If I say what is true, why have you no belief in me? 46 Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?
46 τίς ἐξ ὑμῶν ἐλέγχει με περὶ ἁμαρτίας; εἰ δὲ ἀλήθειαν λέγω, διατί ὑμεῖς οὐ πιστεύετέ μοι;
47 He who is a child of God gives ear to the words of God: your ears are not open to them because you are not from God. 47 He who is of God hears the words of God. For this cause you don’t hear, because you are not of God.”
48 The Jews said to him in answer, Are we not right in saying that you are of Samaria and have an evil spirit? 48 Then the Jews answered him, “Don’t we say well that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon?”
48 ἀπεκρίθησαν οὖν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ· οὐ καλῶς λέγομεν ἡμεῖς ὅτι Σαμαρείτης εἶ σὺ καὶ δαιμόνιον ἔχεις;
49 And this was the answer of Jesus: I have not an evil spirit; but I give honour to my Father and you do not give honour to me. 49 Jesus answered, “I don’t have a demon, but I honor my Father and you dishonor me.
50 I, however, am not in search of glory for myself: there is One who is searching for it and he is judge. 50 But I don’t seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges.
51 Truly I say to you, If a man keeps my word he will never see death. 51 Most certainly, I tell you, if a person keeps my word, he will never see death.”
52 The Jews said to him, Now we are certain that you have an evil spirit. Abraham is dead, and the prophets are dead; and you say, If a man keeps my word he will never see death. 52 Then the Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham died, as did the prophets; and you say, ‘If a man keeps my word, he will never taste of death.’
52 εἶπον οὖν αὐτῷ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι· νῦν ἐγνώκαμεν ὅτι δαιμόνιον ἔχεις. Ἀβραὰμ ἀπέθανε καὶ οἱ προφῆται, καὶ σὺ λέγεις, ἐάν τις τὸν λόγον μου τηρήσῃ, οὐ μὴ γεύσηται θανάτου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα;
53 Are you greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? and the prophets are dead: who do you say that you are? 53 Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died. Who do you make yourself out to be?”
53 μὴ σὺ μείζων εἶ τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν Ἀβραάμ, ὅστις ἀπέθανε; καὶ οἱ προφῆται ἀπέθανον· τίνα σεαυτὸν σὺ ποιεῖς;
54 Jesus said in answer, If I take glory for myself, my glory is nothing: it is my Father who gives me glory, of whom you say that he is your God. 54 Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say that he is our God.
55 You have no knowledge of him, but I have knowledge of him; and if I said I have no knowledge of him I would be talking falsely like you: but I have full knowledge of him, and I keep his word. 55 You have not known him, but I know him. If I said, ‘I don’t know him,’ I would be like you, a liar. But I know him and keep his word.
56 Your father Abraham was full of joy at the hope of seeing my day: he saw it and was glad. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day. He saw it and was glad.”
57 Then the Jews said to him, You are not fifty years old; have you seen Abraham? 57 The Jews therefore said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old! Have you seen Abraham?”
57 εἶπον οὖν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι πρὸς αὐτόν· πεντήκοντα ἔτη οὔπω ἔχεις καὶ Ἀβραὰμ ἑώρακας;
58 Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, Before Abraham came into being, I am. 58 Jesus said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, before Abraham came into existence, I AM.”
59 So they took up stones to send at him: but Jesus got secretly out of their way and went out of the Temple. 59 Therefore they took up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple, having gone through the middle of them, and so passed by.
