BBE Biblia en inglés básico WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 Now the feast of unleavened bread was near, which is called the Passover.
1 Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the Passover, was approaching.
2 And the chief priests and the scribes were looking for a chance to put him to death, but they went in fear of the people.
2 The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death, for they feared the people.
3 And Satan came into Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve. 3 Y entró Satanás en Judas, por sobrenombre Iscariote, el cual era uno del número de los doce;
3 Satan entered into Judas, who was also called Iscariot, who was counted with the twelve.
4 And he went away and had a discussion with the chief priests and the rulers, about how he might give him up to them.
4 He went away and talked with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him to them.
5 And they were glad, and undertook to give him money.
5 They were glad, and agreed to give him money.
6 And he made an agreement with them to give him up to them, if he got a chance, when the people were not present.
6 He consented and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the multitude.
7 And the day of unleavened bread came, when the Passover lamb is put to death.
7 The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.
8 And Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make the Passover ready for us, so that we may take it. 8 Y envió á Pedro y á Juan, diciendo: Id, aparejadnos la pascua para que comamos.
8 Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”
9 And they said to him, Where are we to get it ready?
9 They said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare?”
10 And he said to them, When you go into the town you will see a man coming to you with a vessel of water; go after him into the house into which he goes.
10 He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.
11 And say to the master of the house, The Master says, Where is the guest-room, where I may take the Passover with my disciples?
11 Tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’
12 And he will take you up to a great room with a table and seats: there make ready. 12 Entonces él os mostrará un gran cenáculo aderezado; aparejad allí.
12 He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there.”
13 And they went, and it was as he had said: and they made the Passover ready.
13 They went, found things as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
14 And when the time had come, he took his seat, and the Apostles with him.
14 When the hour had come, he sat down with the twelve apostles.
15 And he said, I have had a great desire to keep this Passover with you before I come to my death; 15 Y les dijo: En gran manera he deseado comer con vosotros esta pascua antes que padezca;
15 He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,
16 For I say to you, I will not take it till it is made complete in the kingdom of God. 16 Porque os digo que no comeré más de ella, hasta que se cumpla en el reino de Dios.
16 for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in God’s Kingdom.”
17 And he took a cup and, having given praise, he said, Make division of this among yourselves; 17 Y tomando el vaso, habiendo dado gracias, dijo: Tomad esto, y partidlo entre vosotros;
17 He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, “Take this and share it among yourselves,
18 For I say to you, I will not take of the fruit of the vine till the kingdom of God has come.
18 for I tell you, I will not drink at all again from the fruit of the vine, until God’s Kingdom comes.”
19 And he took bread and, having given praise, he gave it to them when it had been broken, saying, This is my body, which is given for you: do this in memory of me. 19 Y tomando el pan, habiendo dado gracias, partió, y les dió, diciendo: Esto es mi cuerpo, que por vosotros es dado: haced esto en memoria de mí.
19 He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.”
20 And in the same way, after the meal, he took the cup, saying, This cup is the new testament, made with my blood which is given for you.
20 Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
21 But the hand of him who is false to me is with me at the table.
21 But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.
22 For it will be done to the Son of man after the purpose of God, but unhappy is that man by whom he is given up. 22 Y á la verdad el Hijo del hombre va, según lo que está determinado; empero ¡ay de aquel hombre por el cual es entregado!
22 The Son of Man indeed goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!”
23 And they were wondering among themselves which of them it was who would do this thing.
23 They began to question among themselves which of them it was who would do this thing.
24 And there was an argument among them about which of them was the greatest.
24 A dispute also arose among them, which of them was considered to be greatest.
25 And he said, The kings of the Gentiles are lords over them, and those who have authority are given names of honour.
25 He said to them, “The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’
26 But let it not be so with you; but he who is greater, let him become like the younger; and he who is chief, like a servant.
26 But not so with you. Rather, the one who is greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.
27 For which is greater, the guest who is seated at a meal or the servant who is waiting on him? is it not the guest? but I am among you as a servant.
27 For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn’t it he who sits at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
28 But you are those who have kept with me through my troubles; 28 Empero vosotros sois los que habéis permanecido conmigo en mis tentaciones:
28 “But you are those who have continued with me in my trials.
29 And I will give you a kingdom as my Father has given one to me, 29 Yo pues os ordeno un reino, como mi Padre me lo ordenó [á mí],
29 I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me,
30 So that you may take food and drink at my table in my kingdom, and be seated like kings, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
31 Simon, Simon, Satan has made a request to have you, so that he may put you to the test as grain is tested: 31 Dijo también el Señor: Simón, Simón, he aquí Satanás os ha pedido para zarandaros como á trigo;
31 The Lord said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have all of you, that he might sift you as wheat,
32 But I have made prayer for you, that your faith may not go from you: and when you are turned again, make your brothers strong.
32 but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers.”
33 And he said to him, Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death. 33 Y él le dijo: Señor, pronto estoy á ir contigo aun á cárcel y á muerte.
33 He said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”
34 And he said, I say to you, Peter, before the cock's second cry today, you will say three times that you have no knowledge of me. 34 Y él dijo: Pedro, te digo que el gallo no cantará hoy antes que tú niegues tres veces que me conoces.
34 He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times.”
35 And he said to them, When I sent you out without money or bag or shoes, were you in need of anything? And they said, Nothing.
35 He said to them, “When I sent you out without purse, bag, and sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”
36 And he said to them, But now, he who has a money-bag, or a bag for food, let him take it: and he who has not, let him give his coat for money and get a sword.
36 Then he said to them, “But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a bag. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
37 For I say to you that these words will be put into effect in me, And he was numbered among the evil-doers: for what has been said in the Writings about me has an end.
37 For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘He was counted with transgressors.’ For that which concerns me is being fulfilled.”
38 And they said, Lord, here are two swords. And he said, It is enough. 38 Entonces ellos dijeron: Señor, he aquí dos espadas. Y él les dijo: Basta.
38 They said, “Lord, behold, here are two swords.” He said to them, “That is enough.”
39 And he came out, and went, as his way was, to the Mountain of Olives, and the disciples went with him.
39 He came out and went, as his custom was, to the Mount of Olives. His disciples also followed him.
40 And when he came to the place, he said to them, Make a prayer that you may not be put to the test.
40 When he was at the place, he said to them, “Pray that you don’t enter into temptation.”
41 And he went a little distance away from them and, falling on his knees in prayer, he said, 41 Y él se apartó de ellos como un tiro de piedra; y puesto de rodillas oró,
41 He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and he knelt down and prayed,
42 Father, if it is your pleasure, take this cup from me: but still, let your pleasure, not mine, be done.
42 saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
43◆ And an angel from heaven came to him, to give him strength.
43 An angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.
44◆ And being in great trouble of soul, the force of his prayer became stronger, and great drops, like blood, came from him, falling to the earth.
44 Being in agony, he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.
45 And, getting up from prayer, he came to the disciples, and saw that they were sleeping for sorrow. 45 Y como se levantó de la oración, y vino á sus discípulos, hallólos durmiendo de tristeza;
45 When he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping because of grief,
46 And he said, Why are you sleeping? Get up, and give yourselves to prayer, so that you may not be put to the test.
46 and said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
47 And while he was saying these words, there came a band of people, and Judas, one of the twelve, was in front of them, and he came near to Jesus to give him a kiss.
47 While he was still speaking, a crowd appeared. He who was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He came near to Jesus to kiss him.
48 But Jesus said to him, Judas, will you be false to the Son of man with a kiss?
48 But Jesus said to him, “Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”
49 And when those who were with him saw what was coming, they said, Lord, may we not make use of our swords?
49 When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said to him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”
50 And one of them gave a blow to the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.
50 A certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
51 But Jesus, answering, said, Put up with this, at least. And touching his ear, he made it well. 51 Entonces respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Dejad hasta aquí. Y tocando su oreja, le sanó.
51 But Jesus answered, “Let me at least do this”—and he touched his ear and healed him.
52 And Jesus said to the chief priests and the captains of the Temple and the rulers, who had come against him, Have you come out as against a thief, with swords and sticks?
52 Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders, who had come against him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?
53 When I was in the Temple with you every day, your hands were not stretched out against me: but this is your hour, and the authority of the dark power.
53 When I was with you in the temple daily, you didn’t stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”
54 And they made him a prisoner and took him away to the house of the high priest. But Peter went after them at a distance.
54 They seized him and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed from a distance.
55 And a fire was lighted in the middle of the open square, and they were seated together, and Peter was among them.
55 When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat among them.
56 And a certain woman-servant, seeing him in the light of the fire, and looking at him with attention, said, This man was with him.
56 A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, “This man also was with him.”
57 But he said, Woman, it is not true; I have no knowledge of him.
57 He denied Jesus, saying, “Woman, I don’t know him.”
58 And after a little time, another saw him and said, You are one of them; and he said, Man, I am not. Y Pedro dijo: Hombre, no soy.
58 After a little while someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them!” But Peter answered, “Man, I am not!”
59 And after about an hour, another man said, with decision, Certainly this man was with him, for he is a Galilaean.
59 After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean!”
60 And Peter said, Man, I have no knowledge of these things of which you are talking. And straight away, while he was saying these words, there came the cry of a cock. 60 Y Pedro dijo: Hombre, no sé qué dices. Y luego, estando él aún hablando, el gallo cantó.
60 But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
61 And the Lord, turning, gave Peter a look. And the words of the Lord came to Peter's mind, how he had said, This night, before the hour of the cock's cry, you will be false to me three times.
61 The Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the Lord’s word, how he said to him, “Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times.”
62 And he went out, weeping bitterly. 62 Y saliendo fuera Pedro, lloró amargamente.
62 He went out, and wept bitterly.
63 And the men in whose hands Jesus was, made sport of him and gave him blows. 63 Y los hombres que tenían á Jesús, se burlaban de él hiriéndole;
63 The men who held Jesus mocked him and beat him.
64 And, covering his eyes, they said to him, Are you prophet enough to say who gave you that blow?
64 Having blindfolded him, they struck him on the face and asked him, “Prophesy! Who is the one who struck you?”
65 And they said a number of other evil things against him. 65 Y decían otras muchas cosas injuriándole.
65 They spoke many other things against him, insulting him.
66 And when it was day, the rulers of the people came together, with the chief priests and the scribes, and they took him before their Sanhedrin, saying, 66 Y cuando fué de día, se juntaron los ancianos del pueblo, y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y le trajeron á su concilio,
66 As soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people were gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away into their council, saying,
67 If you are the Christ, say so. But he said, If I say so you will not have belief; 67 Diciendo: ¿Eres tú el Cristo? dínos[lo]. Y les dijo: Si os [lo] dijere, no creeréis;
67 “If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you won’t believe,
68 And if I put a question to you, you will not give an answer.
68 and if I ask, you will in no way answer me or let me go.
69 But in the future the Son of man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God. 69 Mas después de ahora el Hijo del hombre se asentará á la diestra de la potencia de Dios.
69 From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”
70 And they all said, Are you then the Son of God? and he said, You say that I am. 70 Y dijeron todos: ¿Luego tú eres Hijo de Dios?
70 They all said, “Are you then the Son of God?” He said to them, “You say it, because I am.”
71 And they said, What more need have we of witness? we have the very words of his mouth.
71 They said, “Why do we need any more witness? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth!”
