FBV Free Bible Version (Versión Biblia Libre en inglés) WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 Around this time there was another large crowd that had nothing to eat. Jesus called the disciples together and told them, 1 EN aquellos días, como hubo gran gentío, y no tenían qué comer, Jesús llamó á sus discípulos, y les dijo:
1 In those days, when there was a very great multitude, and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to himself and said to them,
2 “I feel for the crowd because they have already stayed with me for three days and they have nothing to eat. 2 Tengo compasión de la multitud, porque ya hace tres días que están conmigo, y no tienen qué comer:
2 “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have stayed with me now three days and have nothing to eat.
3 If I send them home without food, they'll faint on the way. Some have come from a long way away.” 3 Y si los enviare en ayunas á sus casas, desmayarán en el camino; porque algunos de ellos han venido de lejos.
3 If I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come a long way.”
4 “Where could anybody find enough bread to feed them here in this wilderness?” answered his disciples.
4 His disciples answered him, “From where could one satisfy these people with bread here in a deserted place?”
5 “How many loaves do you have?” he asked. “Seven,” they replied. 5 Y les preguntó: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Y ellos dijeron: Siete.
5 He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.”
6 He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves of bread, and gave thanks. He broke the bread and handed the pieces to his disciples to give to the crowd.
6 He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves. Having given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to serve, and they served the multitude.
7 They had a few fish as well, so having blessed them, he said, “Take these and share them too.” 7 Tenían también unos pocos pececillos: y los bendijo, y mandó que también los pusiesen delante.
7 They also had a few small fish. Having blessed them, he said to serve these also.
8 They ate until they were full, and then collected up seven baskets of leftovers.
8 They ate and were filled. They took up seven baskets of broken pieces that were left over.
9 There were four thousand people there. After sending them on their way, 9 Y eran los que comieron, como cuatro mil: y los despidió.
9 Those who had eaten were about four thousand. Then he sent them away.
10 Jesus climbed into a boat with his disciples and went to the region of Dalmanutha.
10 Immediately he entered into the boat with his disciples and came into the region of Dalmanutha.
11 The Pharisees arrived and began to argue with him, wanting him to give them a miraculous sign from heaven, trying to get him to prove himself.
11 The Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking from him a sign from heaven and testing him.
12 Jesus sighed deeply, and asked, “Why do you people want a sign? I tell you the truth: I will not give you a sign.” 12 Y gimiendo en su espíritu, dice: ¿Por qué pide señal esta generación?
12 He sighed deeply in his spirit and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Most certainly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
13 So he left them behind, climbed into the boat, and went back across the lake.
13 He left them, and again entering into the boat, departed to the other side.
14 But the disciples had forgotten to bring bread with them. All they had in the boat was one loaf.
14 They forgot to take bread; and they didn’t have more than one loaf in the boat with them.
15 “Watch out—beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and of Herod!” he warned them.
15 He warned them, saying, “Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod.”
16 “He's saying that because we don't have any bread,” they concluded.
16 They reasoned with one another, saying, “It’s because we have no bread.”
17 Jesus knew what they were saying, and said, “Why are you talking about not having any bread? Are you still not thinking and not understanding? Have you closed your minds? 17 Y como Jesús lo entendió, les dice: ¿Qué altercáis, porque no tenéis pan? ¿no consideráis ni entendéis? ¿aun tenéis endurecido vuestro corazón?
17 Jesus, perceiving it, said to them, “Why do you reason that it’s because you have no bread? Don’t you perceive yet or understand? Is your heart still hardened?
18 You've got eyes to see, haven't you? And ears to hear? 18 ¿Teniendo ojos no veis, y teniendo oídos no oís? ¿y no os acordáis?
18 Having eyes, don’t you see? Having ears, don’t you hear? Don’t you remember?
19 Don't you remember when I shared five loaves among five thousand? How many basketfuls of leftovers did you pick up?” “Twelve,” they replied.
19 When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They told him, “Twelve.”
20 “And the seven loaves divided among four thousand. How many basketfuls of leftovers did you pick up?” “Seven,” they answered.
20 “When the seven loaves fed the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They told him, “Seven.”
21 “Do you still not understand?” he asked them. 21 Y les dijo: ¿Cómo aun no entendéis?
21 He asked them, “Don’t you understand yet?”
22 They went to Bethsaida where some people brought a blind man to Jesus. They begged Jesus to touch him and heal him.
22 He came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to him and begged him to touch him.
23 Jesus took the blind man by the hand and took him outside the village. Jesus spat on the man's eyes and touched him with his hands. Then Jesus asked him, “Can you see anything?” 23 Entonces, tomando la mano del ciego, le sacó fuera de la aldea; y escupiendo en sus ojos, y poniéndole las manos encima, le preguntó si veía algo.
23 He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spat on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.
24 The man looked around, and said, “I can see people, but they look like trees walking.” 24 Y él mirando, dijo: Veo los hombres, pues veo que andan como árboles.
24 He looked up, and said, “I see men, but I see them like walking trees.”
25 So Jesus touched the man's eyes again. He could see properly—he was cured and his sight was clear.
25 Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly.
26 Jesus sent the man home, and told him, “Don't go back through the village.” 26 Y envióle á su casa, diciendo: No entres en la aldea, ni [lo] digas á nadie en la aldea.
26 He sent him away to his house, saying, “Don’t enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village.”
27 Jesus and his disciples left to go to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say I am?” 27 Y salió Jesús y sus discípulos por las aldeas de Cesarea de Filipo.
27 Jesus went out, with his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, “Who do men say that I am?”
28 “Some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, others say one of the prophets,” they replied.
28 They told him, “John the Baptizer, and others say Elijah, but others, one of the prophets.”
29 “But who do you say I am?” he asked them. “You are the Messiah!” Peter answered.
29 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ.”
30 Jesus warned them not to tell anybody about him.
30 He commanded them that they should tell no one about him.
31 Then Jesus began to explain to them that the Son of man would suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and religious teachers. He would be killed, but three days later would rise again.
31 He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
32 Jesus explained this to them very clearly. But Peter took Jesus aside and started to reprimand him for what he said. 32 Y claramente decía esta palabra. Entonces Pedro le tomó, y le comenzó á reprender.
32 He spoke to them openly. Peter took him and began to rebuke him.
33 Jesus turned around and looking at his disciples, reprimanded Peter. “Get away from me, Satan,” he said. “You're not thinking as God thinks, but as human beings do.” 33 Y él, volviéndose y mirando á sus discípulos, riñó á Pedro, diciendo: Apártate de mí, Satanás; porque no sabes las cosas que son de Dios, sino las que son de los hombres.
33 But he, turning around and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of men.”
34 Jesus called the crowd and his disciples over to him, and told them, “If you want to follow me, you must give up on yourselves, pick up your cross and follow me. 34 Y llamando á la gente con sus discípulos, les dijo: Cualquiera que quisiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese á sí mismo, y tome su cruz, y sígame.
34 He called the multitude to himself with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 If you want to save your life you will lose it, but if you lose your life because of me and the good news you will save it. 35 Porque el que quisiere salvar su vida, la perderá; y el que perdiere su vida por causa de mí y del evangelio, la salvará.
35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it.
36 What use is it for you to gain everything in the whole world, and lose your life?
36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?
37 What would you give in exchange for your life?
37 For what will a man give in exchange for his life?
38 If you're ashamed to acknowledge me and what I say among this unfaithful and sinful people, then the Son of man will be ashamed to acknowledge you when he comes with his Father's glory with the holy angels.” 38 Porque el que se avergonzare de mí y de mis palabras en esta generación adulterina y pecadora, el Hijo del hombre se avergonzará también de él, cuando vendrá en la gloria de su Padre con los santos ángeles.
38 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
