13:1 Al Músico principal: Salmo de David. ¿HASTA cuándo, Jehová? ¿me olvidarás para siempre? ¿hasta cuándo esconderás tu rostro de mí?
13:1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. How long, Yahweh? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
13:2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? How long shall my enemy triumph over me?
13:3 Mira, óyeme, Jehová Dios mío: alumbra mis ojos, porque no duerma [en] muerte;
13:3 Behold, and answer me, Yahweh, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;
4 Призри, услышь меня, Господи Боже мой! Просвети очи мои, да не усну я сном смертным;
13:4 lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him;” lest my adversaries rejoice when I fall.
13:5 But I trust in your loving kindness. My heart rejoices in your salvation.
13:6 I will sing to Yahweh, because he has been good to me.

  1. Comentario Augustine of Hippo, Expositions on the Psalms (Psalm XII)

    It has been said on the sixth Psalm, that "the eighth" may be taken as the day of judgment. "For the eighth" may also be taken "for the eternal age;" for that after the time present, which is a cycle of seven days, it shall be given to the Saints.

    For not without reason is it said, "Enlighten mine eyes, lest at any time I sleep in death." They that shut their eyes against charity, fall asleep in the lusts of carnal delights.
