1 I kad se navrši pedeset dana behu zajedno svi apostoli jednodušno.
1 Y COMO se cumplieron los días de Pentecostés, estaban todos unánimes juntos;
2 I ujedanput postade huka s neba kao duvanje silnog vetra, i napuni svu kuću gde seđahu;
2 Y de repente vino un estruendo del cielo como de un viento recio que corría, el cual hinchió toda la casa donde estaban sentados;
11 Krićani i Arapi, čujemo gde oni govore našim jezicima veličine Božje.
15 Jer ovi nisu pijani kao što vi mislite, jer je tek treći sat dana;
15 Porque éstos no están borrachos, como vosotros pensáis, siendo la hora tercia del día;
17 I biće u poslednje dane, govori Gospod, izliću od Duha svog na svako telo, i proreći će sinovi vaši i kćeri vaše, i mladići vaši videće utvare i starci vaši sniće snove;
19 I daću čudesa gore na nebu i znake dole na zemlji: krv i oganj i pušenje dima.
20 Sunce će se pretvoriti u tamu i mesec u krv pre nego dođe veliki i slavni dan Gospodnji.
20 El sol se volverá en tinieblas, y la luna en sangre, antes que venga el día del Señor, grande y manifiesto;
22 Varones Israelitas, oid estas palabras: Jesús Nazareno, varón aprobado de Dios entre vosotros en maravillas y prodigios y señales, que Dios hizo por él en medio de vosotros, como también vosotros sabéis;
23 ovog određenim savetom i promislom Božjim predana primivši, preko ruku bezakonika prikovaste i ubiste;
23 A éste, entregado por determinado consejo y providencia de Dios, prendisteis y matasteis por manos de los inicuos, crucificándole;
25 Jer David govori za Njega: Gospoda jednako gledah pred sobom: jer je s desne strane mene, da se ne pomaknem;
26 Zato se razveseli srce moje, i obradova se jezik moj, pa još i telo moje počivaće u nadi;
26 Por lo cual mi corazón se alegró, y gozóse mi lengua; y aun mi carne descansará en esperanza;
28 Pokazao si mi puteve života: napunićeš me veselja s licem svojim.
30 Empero siendo profeta, y sabiendo que con juramento le había Dios jurado que del fruto de su lomo, cuanto á la carne, levantaría al Cristo que se sentaría sobre su trono;
32 Ovog Isusa vaskrse Bog, čemu smo mi svi svedoci.
36 Tvrdo dakle neka zna sav dom Izrailjev da je i Gospodom i Hristom Bog učinio ovog Isusa koga vi raspeste.
37 A kad čuše, ražali im se u srcu, i rekoše Petru i ostalim apostolima: Šta ćemo činiti, ljudi braćo?
38 A Petar im reče: Pokajte se, i da se krstite svaki od vas u ime Isusa Hrista za oproštenje greha; i primićete dar Svetog Duha;
42 I ostaše jednako u nauci apostolskoj, i u zajednici, i u lomljenju hleba, i u molitvama.
43 I uđe strah u svaku dušu; jer apostoli činiše mnoga čudesa i znake u Jerusalimu.
44 A svi koji verovaše behu zajedno, i imahu sve zajedno.
44 Y todos los que creían estaban juntos; y tenían todas las cosas comunes;
46 I svaki dan behu jednako jednodušno u crkvi, i lomljahu hleb po kućama, i primahu hranu s radošću i u prostoti srca,
47 hvaleći Boga, i imajući milost u sviju ljudi.

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).

  1. Commentary 2:1 John Chrysostom, Homilies on the Acts of the Apostles (Homily IV)

    Dost thou perceive the type? What is this Pentecost? The time when the sickle was to be put to the harvest, and the ingathering was made. See now the reality, when the time was come to put in the sickle of the word: for here, as the sickle, keen-edged, came the Spirit down.
