1 A Josifa odvedoše u Misir; i Petefrije dvoranin Faraonov, zapovednik stražarski, čovek Misirac, kupi ga od Ismailjaca, koji ga odvedoše onamo.
1 Y LLEVADO José á Egipto, comprólo Potiphar, eunuco de Faraón, capitán de los de la guardia, varón Egipcio, de mano de los Ismaelitas que lo habían llevado allá.
1 Joseph was brought down to Egypt. Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh’s, the captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the hand of the Ishmaelites that had brought him down there.
2 I Gospod beše s Josifom, te bi srećan, i živeše u kući gospodara svog Misirca.
2 Mas Jehová fué con José, y fué varón prosperado: y estaba en la casa de su señor el Egipcio.
2 Yahweh was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man. He was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 I gospodar njegov vide da je Gospod s njim i da sve što radi Gospod vodi u napredak u ruci njegovoj.
3 Y vió su señor que Jehová era con él, y que todo lo que él hacía, Jehová lo hacía prosperar en su mano.
3 His master saw that Yahweh was with him, and that Yahweh made all that he did prosper in his hand.
4 I Josif steče milost u njega, i dvoraše ga; a najposle postavi ga nad celim domom svojim, i šta god imaše njemu dade u ruke.
4 Así halló José gracia en sus ojos, y servíale; y él le hizo mayordomo de su casa, y entregó en su poder todo lo que tenía.
4 Joseph found favor in his sight. He ministered to him, and Potiphar made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.
5 A kad ga postavi nad domom svojim i nad svim što imaše, od tada Gospod blagoslovi dom toga Misirca radi Josifa; i blagoslov Gospodnji beše na svemu što imaše u kući i u polju.
5 Y aconteció que, desde cuando le dió el encargo de su casa, y de todo lo que tenía, Jehová bendijo la casa del Egipcio á causa de José; y la bendición de Jehová fué sobre todo lo que tenía, así en casa como en el campo.
5 From the time that he made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, Yahweh blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake. Yahweh’s blessing was on all that he had, in the house and in the field.
6 I ostavi u Josifovim rukama sve što imaše, i ne razbiraše nizašta osim jela koje jeđaše. A Josif beše lepog stasa i lepog lica.
6 Y dejó todo lo que tenía en mano de José; ni con él sabía de nada más que del pan que comía. Y era José de hermoso semblante y bella presencia.
6 He left all that he had in Joseph’s hand. He didn’t concern himself with anything, except for the food which he ate. Joseph was well-built and handsome.
7 I dogodi se posle, te se žena gospodara njegovog zagleda u Josifa, i reče: Lezi sa mnom.
7 Y aconteció después de esto, que la mujer de su señor puso sus ojos en José, y dijo: Duerme conmigo.
7 After these things, his master’s wife set her eyes on Joseph; and she said, “Lie with me.”
8 A on ne hte, nego reče ženi gospodara svog: Eto gospodar moj ne razbira nizašta šta je u kući, nego šta god ima dade meni u ruke.
8 Y él no quiso, y dijo á la mujer de su señor: He aquí que mi señor no sabe conmigo lo que hay en casa, y ha puesto en mi mano todo lo que tiene:
8 But he refused, and said to his master’s wife, “Behold, my master doesn’t know what is with me in the house, and he has put all that he has into my hand.
9 Ni sam nije veći od mene u ovoj kući, i ništa ne krije od mene osim tebe, jer si mu žena; pa kako bih učinio tako grdno zlo i Bogu zgrešio?
9 No hay otro mayor que yo en esta casa, y ninguna cosa me ha reservado sino á ti, por cuanto tú eres su mujer; ¿cómo, pues, haría yo este grande mal, y pecaría contra Dios?
9 No one is greater in this house than I am, and he has not kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
10 I ona govoraše takve reči Josifu svaki dan, ali je ne posluša da legne s njom ni da se bavi kod nje.
10 Y fué que hablando ella á José cada día, y no escuchándola él para acostarse al lado de ella, para estar con ella,
10 As she spoke to Joseph day by day, he didn’t listen to her, to lie by her, or to be with her.
11 A jedan dan kad dođe Josif u kuću da radi svoj posao, a ne beše nikoga od domašnjih u kući,
11 Aconteció que entró él un día en casa para hacer su oficio, y no había nadie de los de casa allí en casa:
11 About this time, he went into the house to do his work, and there were none of the men of the house inside.
12 ona ga uhvati za haljinu govoreći: Lezi sa mnom. Ali on ostavivši joj u rukama haljinu svoju pobeže i otide.
12 Y asiólo ella por su ropa, diciendo: Duerme conmigo. Entonces dejóla él su ropa en las manos, y huyó, y salióse fuera.
12 She caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me!” He left his garment in her hand, and ran outside.
13 A kad ona vide gde joj ostavi u rukama haljinu svoju i pobeže,
13 Y acaeció que cuando vió ella que le había dejado su ropa en sus manos, y había huído fuera,
13 When she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and had run outside,
14 viknu čeljad svoju, i reče im govoreći: Gledajte, doveo nam je čoveka Jevrejina da nas sramoti; dođe k meni da legne sa mnom, a ja povikah glasno;
14 Llamó á los de casa, y hablóles diciendo: Mirad, nos ha traído un Hebreo, para que hiciese burla de nosotros: vino él á mí para dormir conmigo, y yo dí grandes voces;
14 she called to the men of her house, and spoke to them, saying, “Behold, he has brought a Hebrew in to us to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice.
15 a on kad ču gde vičem, ostavi haljinu svoju kod mene i pobeže i otide.
15 Y viendo que yo alzaba la voz y gritaba, dejó junto á mí su ropa, y huyó, y salióse fuera.
15 When he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment by me, and ran outside.”
16 I ona ostavi haljinu njegovu kod sebe dok mu gospodar dođe kući.
16 Y ella puso junto á sí la ropa de él, hasta que vino su señor á su casa.
16 She laid up his garment by her, until his master came home.
17 A tada mu reče ovako govoreći: Sluga Jevrejin, koga si nam doveo, dođe k meni da me osramoti;
17 Entonces le habló ella semejantes palabras, diciendo: El siervo Hebreo que nos trajiste, vino á mí para deshonrarme;
17 She spoke to him according to these words, saying, “The Hebrew servant, whom you have brought to us, came in to me to mock me,
18 a ja povikah glasno, te on ostavi haljinu svoju kod mene i pobeže.
18 Y como yo alcé mi voz y grité, él dejó su ropa junto á mí, y huyó fuera.
18 and as I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment by me, and ran outside.”
19 A kad gospodar njegov ču reči žene svoje gde mu reče: To mi je učinio sluga tvoj, razgnevi se vrlo.
19 Y sucedió que como oyó su señor las palabras que su mujer le hablara, diciendo: Así me ha tratado tu siervo; encendióse su furor.
19 When his master heard the words of his wife, which she spoke to him, saying, “This is what your servant did to me,” his wrath was kindled.
20 I gospodar Josifov uhvati ga, i baci ga u tamnicu, gde ležahu sužnji carski: i bi onde u tamnici.
20 Y tomó su señor á José, y púsole en la casa de la cárcel, donde estaban los presos del rey, y estuvo allí en la casa de la cárcel.
20 Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were bound, and he was there in custody.
21 Ali Gospod beše s Josifom i raširi milost svoju nad njim i učini te omile tamničaru.
21 Mas Jehová fué con José, y extendió á él su misericordia, y dióle gracia en ojos del principal de la casa de la cárcel.
21 But Yahweh was with Joseph, and showed kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
22 I poveri tamničar Josifu sve sužnje u tamnici, i šta je god trebalo onde činiti on uređivaše.
22 Y el principal de la casa de la cárcel entregó en mano de José todos los presos que había en aquella prisión; todo lo que hacían allí, él lo hacía.
22 The keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever they did there, he was responsible for it.
23 I tamničar ne nadgledaše ništa što beše u Josifovoj ruci, jer Gospod beše s njim; i šta god činjaše, Gospod vođaše u napredak.
23 No veía el principal de la cárcel cosa alguna que en su mano estaba; porque Jehová era con él, y lo que él hacía, Jehová lo prosperaba.
23 The keeper of the prison didn’t look after anything that was under his hand, because Yahweh was with him; and that which he did, Yahweh made it prosper.

"Thou broughtest in unto us here an Hebrew servant to mock us." It was not this man that mocked thee, O wretched and unhappy woman, but the devil that told thee that thou couldest break down the adamant.
