1 Hvalite Gospoda, jer je dobar, jer je doveka milost Njegova.
2 Neka reče Izrailj da je doveka milost Njegova;
3 Neka reče dom Aronov da je doveka milost Njegova;
5 Iz teskobe povikah ka Gospodu i usliši me, izvede me na prostrano mesto Gospod.
8 Bolje je uzdati se u Gospoda nego li se oslanjati na čoveka;
10 Svi me narodi opkoliše; ali ih u ime Gospodnje razbih.
11 Optekoše, opkoliše me; ali ih u ime Gospodnje razbih.
13 Otisnuo si me da padnem, ali me Gospod prihvati.
14 Gospod je hvala moja i pesma; On mi posta Spasitelj.
15 Glas radosti i spasenja čuje se u kolibama pravedničkim: „Desnica Gospodnja daje silu;
16 Desnica Gospodnja uzvišuje, desnica Gospodnja daje silu.”
17 Neću umreti, nego ću živ biti, i kazivati dela Gospodnja.
18 Karajući pokara me Gospod; ali me smrti ne dade.
18 Castigóme gravemente JAH: mas no me entregó á la muerte.
21 Hvalim Te, što si me uslišio, i postao mi Spasitelj.
27 Gospod je Bog krepak, i On nas obasja; žrtvu prazničnu, vezanu vrpcama, vodite k rogovima žrtveniku.
29 Hvalite Gospoda, jer je dobar, jer je milost Njegova doveka.

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).

  1. Commentary Augustine of Hippo, Expositions on the Psalms (Psalm CXVII)

    (ver. 1). These are the courts of the Lord's house, this all His people, this the true Jerusalem. Let those rather listen who have refused to be the children of this city, since they have cut themselves off from the communion of all nations.
