FBV Free Bible Version (Versión Biblia Libre en inglés) WEB World English Bible (clásica, con deuterocanónicos) 1 One Sabbath while Jesus was walking through grainfields, his disciples began picking some heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands, and eating them.
1 Now on the second Sabbath after the first, he was going through the grain fields. His disciples plucked the heads of grain and ate, rubbing them in their hands.
2 Some of the Pharisees questioned him, asking, “Why are you doing what is not permitted on the Sabbath?” 2 Y algunos de los Fariseos les dijeron: ¿Por qué hacéis lo que no es lícito hacer en los sábados?
2 But some of the Pharisees said to them, “Why do you do that which is not lawful to do on the Sabbath day?”
3 Jesus replied, “Have you never read what David did when he and his men were hungry? 3 Y respondiendo Jesús les dijo: ¿Ni aun esto habéis leído, qué hizo David cuando tuvo hambre, él, y los que con él estaban;
3 Jesus, answering them, said, “Haven’t you read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him,
4 How he went into the house of God and took the consecrated bread? He ate it, and gave it to his men too. That's not permitted either. The consecrated bread is only for the priests.” 4 Cómo entró en la casa de Dios, y tomó los panes de la proposición, y comió, y dió también á los que estaban con él, los cuales no era lícito comer, sino á solos los sacerdotes?
4 how he entered into God’s house, and took and ate the show bread, and gave also to those who were with him, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests alone?”
5 Then he told them, “The Son of man is Lord of the Sabbath.” 5 Y les decía: El Hijo del hombre es Señor aun del sábado.
5 He said to them, “The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”
6 On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue to teach. A man was there with a crippled right hand.
6 It also happened on another Sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught. There was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
7 The religious teachers and the Pharisees were observing Jesus closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath. They wanted to find something to accuse him of. 7 Y le acechaban los escribas y los Fariseos, si sanaría en sábado, por hallar de qué le acusasen.
7 The scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against him.
8 But Jesus knew what was in their minds. He told the man with the crippled hand, “Get up, and stand here in front of everyone.” The man got up and stood there.
8 But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Rise up and stand in the middle.” He arose and stood.
9 Then Jesus turned to them and said, “Let me ask you a question. Is it legal to do good on the Sabbath, or to do bad? To save life, or to destroy it?” 9 Entonces Jesús les dice: Os preguntaré [una cosa]: ¿Es lícito en sábados hacer bien, ó hacer mal? ¿salvar la vida, ó quitarla?
9 Then Jesus said to them, “I will ask you something: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?”
10 He looked round at all of them there. Then he said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” The man did so, and his hand became like new.
10 He looked around at them all, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did, and his hand was restored as sound as the other.
11 But they flew into a rage, and began to discuss what they could do to Jesus.
11 But they were filled with rage, and talked with one another about what they might do to Jesus.
12 One day shortly after, Jesus went up a mountain to pray. He remained there all night, praying to God. 12 Y aconteció en aquellos días, que fué al monte á orar, y pasó la noche orando á Dios.
12 In these days, he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God.
13 When morning came he called together his disciples, and chose twelve of them. These are the names of the apostles: 13 Y como fué de día, llamó á sus discípulos, y escogió doce de ellos, á los cuales también llamó apóstoles:
13 When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:
14 Simon (also called Peter by Jesus), Andrew his brother, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, 14 A Simón, al cual también llamó Pedro, y á Andrés su hermano, Jacobo y Juan, Felipe y Bartolomé,
14 Simon, whom he also named Peter; Andrew, his brother; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew;
15 Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Revolutionary, 15 Mateo y Tomás, Jacobo [hijo] de Alfeo, y Simón el que se llama Celador,
15 Matthew; Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus; Simon who was called the Zealot;
16 Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot (who became a traitor). 16 Judas hermano de Jacobo, y Judas Iscariote, que también fué el traidor.
16 Judas the son of James; and Judas Iscariot, who also became a traitor.
17 Jesus went back down the mountain with them, and stopped at a place where there was some flat ground. There a crowd made up of his disciples and many other people from all over Judea, Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, had gathered to listen to him and to be cured from their diseases. 17 Y descendió con ellos, y se paró en un lugar llano, y la compañía de sus discípulos, y una grande multitud de pueblo de toda Judea y de Jerusalem, y de la costa de Tiro y de Sidón, que habían venido á oirle, y para ser sanados de sus enfermedades;
17 He came down with them and stood on a level place, with a crowd of his disciples and a great number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases,
18 Those who were troubled by evil spirits were also healed.
18 as well as those who were troubled by unclean spirits; and they were being healed.
19 Everyone in the crowd tried to touch him, because power was coming out from him and healing them all.
19 All the multitude sought to touch him, for power came out of him and healed them all.
20 Looking at his disciples, Jesus told them, 20 Y alzando él los ojos á sus discípulos, decía: Bienaventurados [vosotros] los pobres; porque vuestro es el reino de Dios.
20 He lifted up his eyes to his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for God’s Kingdom is yours.
21 “How happy are you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours. How happy are you who are hungry now, for you will eat all you need. How happy are you who are weeping now, for you will laugh. 21 Bienaventurados los que ahora tenéis hambre; porque seréis saciados. Bienaventurados los que ahora lloráis, porque reiréis.
21 Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.
22 How happy are you when people hate you, exclude you, insult you, and curse your name as evil because of me, the Son of man.
22 Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.
23 When that day comes, be happy. Jump for joy, for great is your reward in heaven. Don't forget their forefathers mistreated the prophets just like this.
23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for their fathers did the same thing to the prophets.
24 But how sad are you who are rich, for you have already received your reward.
24 “But woe to you who are rich! For you have received your consolation.
25 How sad are you who are full now, for you will become hungry. How sad are you who laugh now, for you will mourn and cry.
25 Woe to you, you who are full now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
26 How sad are you when everyone praises you. Don't forget that their forefathers praised false prophets just like this.
26 Woe, when men speak well of you, for their fathers did the same thing to the false prophets.
27 But I say to those of you who are listening: Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. 27 Mas á vosotros los que oís, digo: Amad á vuestros enemigos, haced bien á los que os aborrecen;
27 “But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28 Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who mistreat you.
28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.
29 If someone hits you on one cheek, turn the other cheek. If someone takes your coat, don't prevent them taking your shirt.
29 To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, don’t withhold your coat also.
30 Give to anyone who asks you. If someone takes something from you, don't ask for it back.
30 Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.
31 Do to others what you want them to do to you.
31 “As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them.
32 If you love those who love you, why should you deserve any credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them.
32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
33 If you do good to those who do good to you, why should you deserve any credit for that either? Sinners do that as well.
33 If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
34 If you lend money expecting to be repaid, why should you deserve any credit for that? Sinners lend money to other sinners as well, expecting to be repaid what they loaned.
34 If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive back as much.
35 No: love your enemies, do good to them, and lend without expecting to be repaid anything. Then you will receive a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High God, for he is kind to ungrateful and wicked people.
35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
36 Be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.
36 “Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is also merciful.
37 Don't judge, and you won't be judged; don't condemn, and you won't be condemned; forgive, and you'll be forgiven; 37 No juzguéis, y no seréis juzgados: no condenéis, y no seréis condenados: perdonad, y seréis perdonados.
37 Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged. Don’t condemn, and you won’t be condemned. Set free, and you will be set free.
38 give, and you will be given generously in return. When what you're given is measured out, it's pressed down so more can be added, spilling out over the top, pouring into your lap! For how much you give will determine how much you receive.” 38 Dad, y se os dará; medida buena, apretada, remecida, y rebosando darán en vuestro seno: porque con la misma medida que midiereis, os será vuelto á medir.
38 “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you.”
39 Then he illustrated the point: “Can a blind person lead another? Wouldn't they both fall into a ditch? 39 Y les decía una parábola: ¿Puede el ciego guiar al ciego? ¿No caerán ambos en el hoyo?
39 He spoke a parable to them. “Can the blind guide the blind? Won’t they both fall into a pit?
40 Do students know more than the teacher? Only when they've learned everything: then they will be like their teacher.
40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.
41 Why are you so worried about the speck that's in your brother's eye when you don't even notice the plank that's in your own eye?
41 Why do you see the speck of chaff that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?
42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that's in your eye,’ when you don't even see the plank that's in your own eye? Hypocrite! Take out the plank from your own eye first, and then you'll be able to see well enough to take out the speck from your brother's eye.
42 Or how can you tell your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck of chaff that is in your eye,’ when you yourself don’t see the beam that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck of chaff that is in your brother’s eye.
43 A good tree doesn't produce bad fruit, and a bad tree doesn't produce good fruit.
43 “For there is no good tree that produces rotten fruit, nor again a rotten tree that produces good fruit.
44 You recognize a tree by the fruit it produces. You don't pick figs from thorn bushes, or harvest grapes from brambles.
44 For each tree is known by its own fruit. For people don’t gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.
45 Good people produce what's good from the good things they value that they have stored inside them. Bad people produce what's bad from the bad things they have stored inside them. What fills people's minds spills out in what they say.
45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.
46 So why do you bother to call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ when you don't do what I say?
46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things which I say?
47 I'll give you an example of someone who comes to me, hears my instructions, and follows them.
47 Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words and does them, I will show you who he is like.
48 That person is like a man building a house. He digs down deep and lays the foundations on solid rock. When the river bursts its banks and the floodwater breaks against the house it's not damaged because it's built so well.
48 He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock.
49 The person who hears me but doesn't do what I say is like a man who builds a house without foundations. When the floodwater breaks against the house it collapses immediately—it's completely destroyed.” 49 Mas el que oyó y no hizo, semejante es al hombre que edificó su casa sobre tierra, sin fundamento; en la cual el río dió con ímpetu, y luego cayó; y fué grande la ruina de aquella casa.
49 But he who hears and doesn’t do, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”
